Hi venatici, in case you didn't know, Collin Moshman is doing weekly coaching streams over here on Wednesdays, this should be a good place to pick up some info. The forum thread about it can be found here, the coaching itself can be viewed on Pokerstrategy's Twitch page whenever it's on.

And speaking of which, I am currently in a very similar situation, so I have asked a question about it in that thread. Take a look at the replies I got, they should be useful for you as well.

About the math, ICM (the Independent Chip model) was the concept to be used in SNGs a few years ago, it has now been replaced by FGS (Future Game Simulations), I still have to learn about it myself, but there are some study tools for it, like ICMIZER, which can be found in the Poker Tools section. Keep in mind that you're not supposed to use this tool while your Pokerstars client is open, though. Also, most versions of it require a subscription fee, but there are trial versions available as well.

Other than that, we're pretty much in the same boat right now, so unfortunately, I don't have a lot more to add.

Basically at start forming solid open raise ranges from different positions will be good idea. Relatively tight ranges will make postflop easier as that might not be strong point at start.

Another part of sng "foundations" would be shove and call ranges as bubble and in the money situations tend to weight on shallow stack spots.

After those two points are studied bit it's easier to keep playing and improve. Pretty basic play likely make profit in micro stakes.

Would Collins book be a good place to start?

yes a good idea is to deposit 50 and play multi table poker games. open at the beginning 2 tables at a time and play for a while. if you manage to focus on both games try to open 5 table. it worked for me, good luck

Hello guys, I find this topic something I could relate since I'm trying to get into poker back again and this time take it rather more serious and as well online. I've played it for like 5-6 years now but it was either homegames or casino cash which often enough resulted in positive outcome still. However I strongly lack theory knowledge and SnG format seems easier to master and loss shouldn't be that sufficient.
Although, how to actually analise and study ranges and how to come up with the perfect or atleast profitable system?

If you're leaning towards Sit&Go format, I recommend starting here:
SNG lesson overview
Just follow through the articles -- maybe just skim over the ones where you "already know" the material, but I suggest not skipping them entirely. There may be a nugget or two to be mined.
