Bottom set on rainbow flop

Even so, I'm not in favour of calling cold pre-flop 3-Bets with low pocket pairs.

Here you're quite deep vs UTG+1 and BB, so implied odds are good enough I suppose.

I'll let others discuss the turn -- I have no idea, and I'd love to hear what the experts think

Normally I don't call preflop 3 bets with hands like 44, but I was getting 3 to 1 odds, plus we are deep, so I called. Was expecting the BB to fire on the flop, and I put UTG+1 on something like Axs, and perhaps small to medium pocket pairs, so maybe i should have donk bet the flop.

The big problem with check/raising is when the villain doesn't co-operate and checks back ♠_cry:

I don't know if I really put J9s in an EP raising range, so I wasn't expecting the straight.
When the turn was re-raised though, I did expect a higher set.

Straight on the turn is indeed not to likely, but i doubt he will shove much weaker hands if you pot bet like this. In most cases I would bet around half pot on the turn and go for a decent value bet on the river as plan. As played you are almost committed, but I doubt he has 2 pair combo's in his range. That he would fold pre-flop, but in the end he should fold J9s as well. Than you have only sets over I think and I would go for a tight fold withut any specific info on him, but it's tough to do with so much invested.

Preflop is already loose to flat 44 vs EP on the SB, against a squeeze is for sure -EV.
Leading the flop mw looks to face up with this preflop action.
You can't fold any sets OTT. Don't expect UTG to have 88/TT. Don't really know what checks back the flop and shoves the turn vs PSB, which makes some sense when the flop goes check through.
Don't be results oriented.
