2 people limped in I was SB I raised with KQs, Villain calls UTG. Flop comes I c-bet even though I missed, he calls.Turn comes I pair my Q but its a spade I check because again I'm not sure if I can get value or not he had called on the flop but because he limp called I don't know what range to put him on besides a weak pocket pair or some suited connectors 56s to JT's or weak Ax ( In the hand I was thinking mostly small pocket pairs trying to setmine) he bets 5bb on the turn which I thought was odd , maybe a small pair trying to make me fold If I had nothing since I checked which shows weakness. I called the turn the river comes and I was thinking he could have the flush , or a low pair . I didn't think a low pair would call me and a flush has me beat so I thought I'll check call if he bets I could have him beat sometimes.

I'm trying to play ABC poker I've came to the understanding that you have 2 reasons to bet, correct me if I'm wrong:
-for betting for value is which is when you bet and think you can be called by worse
-for bluffing is trying to push someone off a hand better than yours

I have no info on villains
I open for 3bb and get called by BU and SB

flop gives me nut flush with 2 overs, SB checks and I wasn't sure if my bet is for value because I have no pair or flush
yet and I don't know if Villain has hit the board to have my hand be called by worse if that makes sense. I knew my hand has pretty good chance at improving but I check and BU bets. I check raise him because I didn't want to call and miss on the turn being OOP and giving up initiative, what should I have been thinking about how to play my hand post flop here? after BU bet out
I thought he might have something so I just check-raised he folded and I think I may have missed out on profit by playing it that way.

Hand 1:
I'd raise bigger preflop with two limpers. I'd also check the flop. That board doesn't favor you at all.
Turn check is interesting as played and I don't think it's bad. After that, you have to call KQ, you protect your turn check-line for some reason (I suppose). Price is ridiculous too, what he has doesn't matter at all, it's a call, period.

Hand 2:
Usually, check-raising as the aggressor doesn't accomplish anything different from betting yourself. So, c-bet your nutflush or check/call imo. There's nothing wrong with check/calling, despite being OOP. It will be difficult OTT but you have to get used to it. If you don't have draws that can play as check/call you can be exploited easily. Not that it is the case at NL2 (at all), but still doesn't hurt to have those spots relatively balanced.
The raise size is quite small too.

About reasons to bet: those are the ones we use when playing. Janda once wrote (correct me if I'm mistaken):
- Build the pot when we're ahead (similar to those).
- Deny equity to villain's range.

after looking into most of your hands i want to make the general note, that you are playing to loose for fullring standards.

FR is a lot about coolers. having the nutflush. when someone else has a lesser flush, having topset ... you get the ghist.

playing micro stakes your main enemy is rake. say opening a hand like K8s has a very marginal EV in a 200 NL game, it may very well be -EV playing 10 NL.

the 2 hands above are ok, but even dreaming about 3betting QJo vs EP w an entire table left to act is atrocious.

so check your DB, filter for iso, CC or 3bet IP and you should show a nice profit, cause folding has 0 EV.

... and get a chart.

The majority of LAGs have a VPIP ranging between 25% and 35%. A player who plays 25% VPIP is essentially a rather loose TAG, while a player who plays 35% is verging on being a “maniac” (one step above LAG)

What is a good Vpip percentage?
Player types based on VPIP stat percentages.
14% - 23% is tight. These players are generally playing good/premium hands in solid positions.

Quick google search . Quit trying to hate on me for no reason.... both hands I've posted here are fine starting hands I'm growing each day and your hanging onto a hand that I re-raised a fish who was utg maybe it was a mistake but I've learnt from it . I do use charts and I am getting better. Not sure what your needling at but your not getting anywhere with it .

oh boy, i expected you to ask for advice.

... and do not use the quick searches. be thoroughly.

you are looking for fullring VP. not VP in general.

then what you get is a 6max number, cause this is what is played.

good luck.

A good VPIP full ring is 15% I play around 20 because I like to play my buttons and CO a bit more , I don’t play super tight with my cards face up . It fits my play style like it or lump it . I’m not sure why you expect me to ask you for advice ? You com across as condescending and toxic rather than helpful I don’t accept advice from people like that.

This article does a good job of defining the categories:
https://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/bss/five-player-types/

There used to be one with a diagram, something like this:

I couldn't find the one from PokerStrategy.com so I lifted one at random from another site.
I think that the tight-passive is what is usually called a nit or weak-tight
Loose-passives are often calling stations as well
