Hello together,

sorry, it is just NL16, but i could not find the right Prefix....

Poker Stars, $0.08/$0.16 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $33.33 (208.3 bb)
Hero (BB): $18.09 (113.1 bb)
UTG: $17.92 (112 bb)
MP: $17.24 (107.8 bb)
CO: $16.89 (105.6 bb)
BTN: $16 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q♥: Q♠:
UTG raises to $0.48, 2 folds, BTN raises to $1.44, SB folds, Hero calls $1.28, UTG raises to $17.92 and is all-in BTN folds => hero?

What should hero do?
Because of the prize and the risk to reward we should fold

But, because of this move villain has got very hige foldequity and i guess he knows that.
So i would discount AA out of his range... (is that realistic)
which range can he shove here vs. 2?

possible could be this range:
QQ+; AKo and AQs+

would be nice if i get some answers.

Thank you and good luck at the tables

Slainte

Hello,

Vs unknown you have to fold to that UTG's move. I strongly believe it's the most +EV move. And I don't think it's realistic to discount AA from his range, to me it's right there in his range.
I'd change AQs on your guessing range for JJ. To me it's more likely to be JJ+ or even TT+ and AKo.
With some reads on the villain it's for sure a different story and it might be an easy call with the ladies.

Cheers!

Yeah the UTG play is mega strong. Id consider just folding this rather than taking this horrible line.

I hate to cold call the 3bet. I would 4bet.
Once you have capped yourself against two uncapped ranges by calling you have to fold.

A 4bet to like 4,40 would be better indeed. As played you are in a horrible spot and you need to have decent reads the uTG player can 4bet shove with JJ or AK to make a call profitable and you aren't last to act as well.

I thought about making a 4bet.
Lets guess the hand have been played this way...

Poker Stars, $0.08/$0.16 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $33.33 (208.3 bb)
Hero (BB): $18.09 (113.1 bb)
UTG: $17.92 (112 bb)
MP: $17.24 (107.8 bb)
CO: $16.89 (105.6 bb)
BTN: $16 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q♥: Q♠:
UTG raises to $0.48, 2 folds, BTN raises to $1.44, SB folds, Hero raise to $4.00, UTG raises to $17.92 and is all-in BTN folds => hero?

Question ist the same, but range from UTG could really be now to be
KK+ AKs i guess....

clear fold?

It’s very close, no way is it a clear fold.

It’s a horrible spot again. And if either of these guys call the raise instead you’re in a horrible spot too.

This is why I’d just fold it at the very beginning. To avoid all this nastiness.

Well if we assume his range to be JJ+, AK our equity will be 47.4% and we need 44%. Though to account rake its roughly breakeven I would assume. So to me it seems both call and fold are reasonable. If this player is someone you assume to face again decent amount then calling would have benefit of note taking. Well you want to take note of his holding anyway but point is player pool is probably huge so value of that could be small. So nasty spot and I dont mind folding.

Preflop you want to in general either take line where you call all hands or 4bet all hands you want to play. By 4betting it does allow you to make light 4bet with AQ (good blockers) once in a while. Problem of having calling and 4betting range is simply that it will very easily be really defined and capped calling range and we give original raiser great price to call and he can 4bet. But as you pointed out if UTG shove over your 4bet it really aint good spot. Though at same time its rare situation and you wont give UTG flat possibility.

Cheers for the math. (I suck at math). However, you didn’t calculate the money you make/lose when the villain calls our raise.

The implied odds are way too complicated to calculate accurately, but my guess is that it’d be around BE for me and I’m a good postflop player.
