Hello all!

I started to play poker, just for fun, 10 years ago maybe until eventually became a bit more serious and then, in the summer of 2015, the Portuguese government prohibited poker indefinitely until it came up with some regulations laws.

Nowadays I live in London and amidst this world crisis came back to poker.
The long term plan is to get enough money from the job so I can retire and do my own things.
Feel free to do a bit of research on the FIRE topic - financial independence, retire early.

This blog will mostly serve the purpose of committing myself to things.

Please, feel free to contribute, tell me I'm wrong (or right, if that time comes) and share anything you feel like.

Currently, I'm playing NL5 / NL10 still trying to figure out how aggressive I want to be in regards to bankroll management. For now, I'll use 15BIs to give a shot to the next limit and go back down after losing 5 of those and see how that goes.

I do know this is super aggressive but I guess it's a way to try to figure out where my game is at while keeping on improving. At the same time, there's no need to be "crushing" NL2 before moving on to NL5 and so on, since we are not playing for a salary here. Playing with better players will make me improve faster instead of coasting in the back of that huge winrate at NL2.

To start with, I want to:
- Dedicate 20 active hours a week to think about poker (blog, study and play)
- Do one hand analysis per day
- Study 1h per day, besides the hand analysis

So, failed the first day already...

For that reason, one new rule for myself is to play only after completing the study.
This means that I'll probably play in the mornings before work, after studying the evening on the previous day.

That makes sense.
If you try to play while you're studying, your attention is split between the two tasks -- and you'll do neither of them well.

All the best,

Oh, yeah, definitely. What I meant was don't play until the study for the day is done.
This was I find myself obliged to study. Otherwise, what happens is I go for a session and "study later" and that later never comes

I'll try to post some hands here soon, and start contributing to the hand discussion threads.

Anyone using Holdem Manager 3?

So, I've moved up to 25NL the last couple days. So far so good. We are also running good, which is always nice but I do feel we have an edge over the field. Even at 25NL.

Here's the graph since I've returned to poker.

The number of hands is just ridiculously bad. This is roughly one month. Since 26 Mar.
I do prefer to play regular tables but PokerStars doesn't allow more than 4, not even mixing limits.

To combat that, I used to do 4 regulars + 1 zoom but due to a bug in PS sometimes HM3 can't show the HUD for the zoom one. When this happens I just proceed to play 4 regulars.

But yeah, would like to have some more volume. Maybe study a bit more too

That is actually a very good graph, and 25,000 hands a month is pretty good volume.

If you can play 4 tables plus 1 zoom, I have great admiration for you!

Cheers,
