A week in and wanting to quit already

Quite frankly, I'm fed up already :(

Years ago, I asked Pokerstars to stop me playing on a temporary basis because I was going through a rough time with gambling issues, or the potential to get bad anyway.

I've found out since trying to get back on that that now means that I'm never allowed on Pokerstars again, as long as I live!

Since as Pokerstars is the biggest site, and also allows HUD's, that really screws up my options where poker is concerned.

I really want to play SNG's but the problem is that I can't get the volume that I want because on 888 in particular, the SNG's fill up really really slowly (I'm playing 9 seated). I don't want to play 6 max because I feel like to play 6 max well, I have to be a maniac.

A few of my friends have said to play Partypoker or GGPoker but neither allow HUD's and they are vital for multi-tabling.

I really don't know if I want to go into cash games proper. Poker coaching at micro stakes is so expensive and it seems like nobody is offering affordable coaching at the moment (I messaged laa5i and no reply).

I'm a week in and really don't know what to do. I need something in my life that I can compete in, and see growth. I just wish I could play the SNG's I want at the frequency I want.

Sorry for the rant :( I'll finish it by saying, Pokerstars are hypocrites. They block somebody who does the decent thing by asking for an exclusion (I didn't realise it was permanent!!), yet they have people who clearly have problems gambling yet they're okay to continue. It's complete bull**** :(

I think you over value HUD, if you play solid GTO and know specific spots at sit n go type you are playing you don't need hud to be successful.
How many tables you playing? Partypoker has normal traffic so there you can play more tables then 888. Dont play at party or 888 either, but if you go up in limits i think you don't get any action at 888.

Hi Ch0pperReid,
Why do you think that it is permanent?
I didn't know permanent self-exclusion was even possible.

Cheers,

VS, they told me I will never be allowed back on there again. This is the crucial part of the email;

"Please note that in accordance with our responsible gaming policy, it will not be reopened under any circumstances. In addition, please note that you will not be allowed to create another account at any point in the future.

We wish you the best in your future endeavors. If you are interested, we would like to suggest three excellent organizations that can offer support and counseling services for those who feel gambling is having a negative impact on their lives. (LINKS REMOVED)

1) Gamblers Anonymous:

2) GamCare:

3) GamblingTherapy

Please do not attempt to create any other accounts as doing so is a violation of our terms of service. If we discover a new account it will be closed without notice, you will be liable for any loss that could occur and the remaining funds could be confiscated.

Best wishes to you. If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know."

Hi Ch0pperReid,
That is indeed unfortunate.

I agree with ekisz about HUDs too -- they are helpful, but not necessary.
When you can't use HUDs, play one or two fewer tables and take notes.

You could also play on two or even more sites at the same time in case traffic on one isn't enough,

Best of luck :gl:,
