From a GTO pont of view i'm guessing it's a bad fold, thoughts ?
cheers in advance.

villain vpip 28

MP: $12.39 (123.9 bb)
CO: $13.53 (135.3 bb)
BTN: $11.67 (116.7 bb)
SB: $10.27 (102.7 bb)
BB: $10.00 (100 bb)
Hero (UTG): $42.83 (428.3 bb)

SB posts $0.05, BB posts $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has Q Q
Hero raises to $0.30, 3 folds, SB raises to $1.00, fold, Hero calls $0.70

Flop: ($2.10, 2 players) 7 6 8
SB bets $1.58, Hero calls $1.58

Turn: ($5.26, 2 players) J
SB bets $3.95, Hero ?

Hi RadsYNWA,

I have 2 questions for you that might help you in your analysis, though I have no clear answer myself about your query:
-If folding on this turn (and I assume on most 2 barrels), then why call flop?
-Is a GTO approach really relevent/desirable in NL10?

Happy to discuss

Also, you're so deep, why not 4Bet pre?
Having done so, you are clear to raise the flop I think.
Straights aren't likely since 45 and T9 aren't in most SB 3Bet ranges. 77 and 88 need to be considered and other overpairs, but you beat more than half of 'em.
Overpairs won't likely fold though.

I think I just confused myself

To see the turn action i think i get a lot of checks after calling this flop i'm not even sure if AK cbets here unless it's the fd.My range should have all the sets some 2 pair and straights so i'm not sure i can expect worse than QQ barrelling here.

It's only 102bb effective with sb's stack and my usual plan from utg and mp vs 3bets is to call more with QQ AK especially ip hu but i'm not really sure if that's the best approach as a default though tbh.As for postflop i'm not sure raising is best as i iso myself vs the top of villains range and fold out the weaker bluffs but im not to sure postflop here tbh.

Those Flop and Turn bets look big size-wise. Flush draw could play for smaller sizing.
To me it looks more like some premium that bets big for protection....
Maybe some cbet barreling tendencies on villain could help.
When villain is 3betting vs UTG, it only makes his range stroner.

I would still call his flop cbet, as population tends to do it too frequently, but 2 barrels in 3 bet pot is value heavy and would fold, unless stats indicate maniac.

the flop works well w your range. villain should check it 100% in the first place.

when he bets big OTF, you have to decide already. QQ is close, you have so many better hands.

so folding OTF is fine, as is raising w QdQx.

i think it heavily depends on your preflop defense range and villains c-bet frequency.
