Bankroll management I have. Self control from gambling on slots and things I do not. I'm an idiot for even playing slots.

Get to a GA meeting then....

Play at pokerstars, it has no side games, or full tilt.....

Self control is needed for poker, if you don't have any in life, you can hardly apply it to a game.

Well then, you will never have money. Its not how much you make, its what you do with it.

I recommend you play live games for easy cash.

First of all stay away from the casinos that poker sites usually offer.

You could try doing the various deposit bonuses and reload offers that all the poker sites offer. Example you could deposit say $600 on full tilt poker and go through the play through requirements and be up $600 by the end. Playing break even poker would be profitable. Ideally you should be making profit on the way. This is probably the best way for a player with a small br to quickly increase it.

Just be aware of how long the bonus lasts, how poker points are accumulated for whichever poker site your on and other terms and conditions of the bonus. Always deposit the maximum bonus since its a one time offer.

I think a person could do just deposit bonuses and reload bonuses and it would be profitable for that player. Also there are so many poker sites out there nowadays a person could literally just do these kinds on bonuses without progressing that high up the various limits. At the end of the year you could have a few thousand dollars in your poker br depending how quickly you can clear each bonus and move on to the new one.

Most intellectual thing you've posted... Now you have to try sticking to it.

Even if you're good at poker at the micro stakes it's a mistake to look at it as a source of income, that comes at the mid stakes. That's my 2 cents. I was finding playing with the $650 bankroll I had rough because I'm not sure if I'll need it in 1.5-2 months time so I'm taking it easy playing with a $150 roll and learning the stud games.

I wasn't playing micro-limits for income. I was playing it for fun, and to try and complete a challenge.

Of course now that roulette has taken my bankroll, I need a source of income to fund my next bankroll; which certainly wont be wasted on gambling.
I could try the Tell-A-Friend system, but where am I supposed to advertise?

Today I read some articles about gambling, and how to set goals to stop gambling and what to do to stay clear away from it.
I'll read a few more later.

I also set myself a goal to be playing NL0.5/1 by the end of this year, with strict bankroll management, and no stupid decisions made.

It was suggested by a friend, don't worry.

Have you tried emptying your bank account, piggy bank, poker accounts, etc for every penny you can find, then put it all on red, double up then you have a bank roll to play with and can replace the money you took / stole before.
Of course if you lose then prostitution is where the real money is!

I just played a freeroll qualifier on pokerstars. Out of 9000 entrants I finished 19th, qualifying to the next freeroll tournament.

I'm rather happy with the result.
