villain 29/21 after 70 hands

PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

Hero (BB): $8.65 (173 bb)
UTG: $5.86 (117.2 bb)
MP: $5.13 (102.6 bb)
CO: $7.42 (148.4 bb)
BTN: $5.09 (101.8 bb)
SB: $5.29 (105.8 bb)

SB posts $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has K♠: K♣:
fold, MP raises to $0.15, CO calls $0.15, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, fold, CO calls $0.45

standard raise

Flop: ($1.37, 2 players) 9♥: 5♥: 7♠:
Hero bets $0.87, CO calls $0.87

wet flop so I am betting 2/3, after villain called I am putting him on:
Ax, FD, SD

Turn: ($3.11, 2 players) A♣:
Hero checks, CO checks

bad card for me as Ax combionations are now ahead, I am checking with the intention to call a small bet <=1/3 and than call river if a neutral card will come on the board. Does it makes sense to bet here with folding on raise? I think if I bet here with small size draws can still pay me off...

River: ($3.11, 2 players) J♦:
Hero bets $1.49, fold

this was a mistake, there is no way that weaker hands will call my bet, so I think I am just isolating my self against stronger range

Results: $3.11 pot ($0.13 rake)
Final Board: 9♥: 5♥: 7♠: A♣: J♦:

Hero wins $2.98

Similar to last hand, but here you have second pair.
What worse will call?
What better would fold?

If you don't have a solid answer to one of these questions, then checking behind is a good option.

Checking behind is a interesting option when you aren't playing in position :f_wink:
Anyway. I would check/call the river most of the time to give villain the opportunity to bluff on you. It will be tough indeed to get much value with a bet.
