Facing big turn bet holding top pair.

I'm curious to know what others think about check/raising this flop.
You do have top pair, but you don't have much of a kicker, and donking would expose you to a raise from the player in position.

Alternatively, you could lead the turn -- or even the river.

The two questions:
 what worse will call?
 what better will fold?

I would just Cbet the flop with top pair medium kicker. Check/raising would be bluffing and with the check/call line you are hoping villain will bluff in 2 villains. Turn would be a fold on the pot size bet. I expect villain will only bet so much with better.

I don't know if we have a range advantage on this board so if we do bet we want to bet bigger like 50% pot or more with our premium made hands and draws since we are OOP we should be checking more so I decided to check this one. What I was confused about was how there was a real lack of draws on the flop that fit into BTN's range. maybe he has some weaker Ax for wheel draws but other than that I think his betting range is Kx, or some of his marginal made hands that he is now using to barrel like medium strength PP's, so I guess BTN's range on the flop is Kx, PP's, sets and weak Ax for wheel draws? On the turn when BTN bets pot I get confused here because the board seems so dry. The question seems what would I check call with on the flop that villain could extract value from by betting pot ? there are almost no draws so after check-call flop, check turn my range is basically marginal made hands. why would he bet pot here to me it makes no sense...the turn does bring club draws the J♣: does hit his range. so he could now barrel off with hands like QTs,T9s,AQ, Ax of clubs etc..

I am playing the hand the same why you did, maybe for different reasons..

Lets go,
flop- like the check as with many multi way pots we need to be more cautious OOP, Main reason for my float here is again we should have all better Kx's in are range as being the Pre flop raiser, So we carry all the AK, KQ maybe not all KJ but at least 4 combos and we hold ALL KK combos. As for nut advantage, BB hold that with the 2's and 4's to make it simple. BNT at then moment really cant hold any sets MAYBE 4's.

Turn- check fine, when the jack comes now things change a little, hand wise not RANGE. hand wish BTN holds more KJ combos then we do so he can be at 2pr. As for range we still hold the Advantage. BTN betting bigger to me does polarize his hand a bit more, as there isnt many draws besides clubs where he does have Acxc, but also still can hold 4's.

river- check is fine here again and I have no problem with call, 8s doesn't change anything on this board, BTN wouldnt be betting pocket 8's on turn that big maybe a under bet but not pot. His just under 1/2 pot bet is the reason why i am calling, we need about 25% equity to call.

range i gave on river.. could be a wee bit wide. but you have way to much equity. IF villain bet pot i think i maybe would still find hard to fold..
