In Equity We Trust!
NOW, it's now or never. I just had to get my reasons right, my head screwed on straight, and shatter some limiting beliefs. Sixth time’s the charm!
A little about me? I'm me. Ba-dum-tss! … No?
Alright, alright. I'm a 40-year-old father of two and have been with the woman of my dreams for the last 10 years. We aren't married yet… for reasons. I maaay have gone past the "try before you buy" period, but hey, they say all good things come to those who wait, right? 😆
Now that you understand I have dad superpowers—capable of functioning on 23.5 hours of work a day simply because I MUST—let’s talk poker.
The Goal
Grind $100 into $10,000, transitioning from NL2 cash games to low-stakes tournaments and eventually high-level strategy.
This will be accomplished in four phases, each marking the start of a new Bankroll Challenge. Right now, I’m in a cool-off period—a break I took to reflect and, well, get here. That ends on March 20, 2025, and that’s when the challenge begins.
In the meantime, I’ll be internalizing the Modern Beginner BSS strategy provided here and diving into equity analysis to understand how different situations play out based on the strategy's recommendations.
Note: I have chosen to transition to tournaments in phase 4 as that is truly what I want to do in poker, play tournaments for a living. I find them to be much more interesting than cash games, but cash games have proven easier for me to learn and apply fundamental poker concepts. So it's just about keeping it simple at the start.
