As a purely cash game player, I've occasionally done some tournaments over the past 10 or so years, but I've never really invested time or energy to learn the differences properly. I guess the motivation to try it a few times is pretty generic: a change of pace from cash games, the excitement, the change to hit it big if you go deep, the soft nature of the average players in the micro tournaments, etc.
Though I didn't win, turning $0.25 into $7.30 by making it to 3rd out of 314 is a result I'm actually kinda proud of. It was fun, will probably do it again ![]()
