$2/$4 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG1 with 9:h, 9:s.
MP1 posts deadblind, Hero raises, 6 folds, SB 3-Bets, BB folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (8.5 SB) Q:s, A:c, 3:d (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 9:c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero 3-Bets, SB calls.

River: (11.25 BB) Q:c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero 3-Bets, SB caps, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 19.25 BB.

Thinking on the flop was that he may have a small pocket or a weak king. I bet to see where I was at and got a call, unfortunately not giving me much information, my thinking was possible weak pair, paired queen, or flush draw.

The turn was what I wanted to see, and the reraise was even better. At this point I think hes just trying to push me out of the pot with weak holdings or still that flush draw.

The river pairs the board, and looks great for me. This gives me great equity against his hand range and if he hit his flush or had a pocket queen then I could get payed off. If he has a Queen with a paired kicker I lose but with the small chances of that I am going to bet for value.

Hi Verre,

did you have any stats on him?
Because I don't see many hands check/calling this flop after his 3-bet if he's not very aggressive. His main range is Ax or a high pocketpair. Both has you often beat and won't fold.
If however he is able to fold something here it's worth a try but as default I think I like a check behind more.

The turn is a nice card but the check/raise is a bit sary. As I said his main range can't hold a flushdraw here and so you have to be worried about AA, QQ. Sure AQ is possible too.
If he's trying to bluff you he might fold to a 3-bet as well so even if your st is a very strong hand I prefer a calldown from here.
However a 3-bet can't be too bad if he's not totally realiable.

On the river you beat a flush but as a flush is very unlikely his check/raise is again pretty strong so I call this only as well.
