[Closed] NL50 - Top Pair, K Kicker in the BB (2)

Honestly, I do not like to play both hands in these multiway Pots. I often give up my hand their. These board are to draw heavy for me.

1)NH. These marginal hands want to be played fast with all the possible draws out or not at all.

2)NH. I'm sure SB could be semi-bluffing there. Sometimes you will be shown 77-TT/sets but more often you'll be called by draws.

@Berliner: The value of any made-hand goes up on a drawy board.

Nunki - But they are pretty weak made hands...I think I have to agree with Berliner here.

I was nervous with both of those plays when I made them. I think I may only play "top pair" from be big blind if that pair is T or higher. Unless there are only one or maybe two opponents.

I think I should have given up hand 1 after getting called by two opponents on the flop. Turns out Button had A8o, so I had him beat until the river where he hit two pair

I think you played both hands correctly. Although both boards are draw heavy you often still have the best hand. For this reason it is correct to put your money in and protect your hand.

1) I would check turn and probably fold to opponent raise
2) Don´t like re-raise. I would fold it.

There you go making me second guess myself again

Do you really think it's worth putting money into top pair on 6 high and 9 high drawish boards with two cards to come? You don't only have to worry about the draws completing, but you have to worry about overcards coming too. I'm still tempted to only play "top pair" with T's or better with A or K kicker while playing SSS...at least in multi-way pots. This seems to be a WA/WB situation, right? Is it worth playing WA/WB while playing SSS?

Ok I reviewed these hands again and honestly I still do not like to play these hands out of position into 3 opponents. I can not protect against draws. The only way to do that is to push in on the flop, but then only a better hand then mine would call me and thats to expensive for me.

Thats why I play these hands check/fold on the turn OOP and only continue to play if I improve on the turn. Thats for playing in multiway pots.

In HU-Situations it would be right to protect these hands.

OK Thanks Berliner. I think I'll just stick to my strategy of playing VERY conservatively in the BB. Single pairs in the BB seem to get me in trouble more often than not...even "top pair, decent kicker."
