check behind turn for pot control and then you can call a reasonable sized river bet in position.

as played u have to fold imo, his line is extremely strong. c/c c/c and lead river is a very strong line.

This. If you checked turn back and he checks river, you can still value bet. This is a spot for about 2 bets, bet flop / check turn / bet river is a good way to achieve that. When you bet turn instead, there's a good chance you will face 3 bets - like in this case - and that's just too much for your hand strength without further reads. Usually you should err on the side of caution and take rather 1 bet than risk 3 bets.
