I've been at this table for about 50 hands and haven't been in a single pot yet. I flop top pair with a good kicker in a 4-way pot. I don't want to risk giving a free card because of the flush and straight draws so I figure betting right out is the way to go. Unfortunately, my pot sized bet gets 2 callers and an overcard hits on the turn. Is there any better way to play this, or did I play it OK?

This is 11 hands later at the same table as Hand 1. The two callers are short-stacked, but are not SSS players. I'm in position, but miss the flop. Should I have c-bet? I wasn't sure since my bet in Hand 1 didn't get much respect...plus I had two opponents and this flop could have hit a small or mid pocket pair. I figured taking a free card and hoping for an A or K was better than risking a check-raise or even a call. On the other hand, a push might have some fold equity against two short stacks...I just don't know.
