[Closed] Victorian Poker Champs - Hand I encountered early on

I am new to poker and so sorry about the outlay of this data for the hand evaluation

I was mid position, blinds were 25/50, I had a stack of 5000

UTG + 2 raises to 175

MP (me) calls with Ah Jd for 175

SB Calls for 175

FLOP As Qd Jh

UTG + 2 shows weakness and bets a CP approx 300

MP (me) with two pair raise to 1100 to see where I stand

SB flat calls behind

UTG + 2 folds

Turn card Qh

so therefore board is As Qd Jh Qh and I am holding Ah Jd - my Jacks have been counter fitted (if this is the correct term?)

SB Bets 1700 into pot of 2925

The SB has me covered and this is 5 - 10 hands into a important tournament to me.

I Fold

Can I please have some advice from you pros out there?

Shoving to me was too risky, only hand I could see her flat calling behind my re-raise after the flop is AQ or K10

After the bet on the turn I narrowed her to AQ, couldnt have KK or AA as woulda repopped preflop and on flop. AK maybe, if this was the case then an all in by myself after turn would have probably made her fold.

FYI

Next hand I'm dealt 10's I get them all-in preflop to same opponent and am encountered by AK

Ace hits flop

Hey maray035,

welcome to the PokerStrategy.com forums! Unfortunately this is the wrong forum. This forum is for feedback concerning the content that is offered by PokerStrategy.com.

in order to get your hands evaluated, you have to post it into our sample hands forum. The professional handjudges of PokerStrategy.com are happy to help you there. Also you have to make sure that you convert the hand correctly, this makes it a lot easier for the handjudges to evaluate your hand.

You should probably have a look at this this sticky, it contains all the information on how to post a sample hand.

I moved this thread into the MTT Basic Forum for you.

Regards,
Timo

first of all id fold AJo preflop
I also dont like raising flop to "see where I stand"
once the small blind calls, his range is:AK,AQ,JJ,QQ,K10 and maybe A10
once the Q hit the turn u just gotts fold b/c his range has u absolutly crushed.
Folding PF or flat calling the flop would of saved u money here.
Also I dont like getting 1010 AI 70-80bb deep b/c u r often crushed or flipping.

better to call the flop, he can hold some better hands

btw if this is early in these tournaments, the game is 11handed. so it's very very bad to call a UTG raise with AJo. I'd much rather 3bet the hand and isolate than to call. But folding >>> 3betting >>>>>>>> calling.

flop's a call as played. never raise postflop to see where you'er at, especially when you have position. ever

turn's a fold as played.
