I am studying tournament poker a bit after playing cash games for the longest time in my life..

I stubbled upon this video and I was wondering is this normal or is he just a massive fish? (especially small blind calling 44)

In a bounty tournament, this may well be the correct play.
Considering the stack sizes, he covers the 3 opponents, so he cannot bust out,
I'm wondering if he should have gone all-in pre rather than call/call.

Here is how the equities looked:

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    21.48%  20.43%   1.06% { 97s }
BU     29.95%  29.89%   0.07% { KJo }
SB     25.46%  25.39%   0.07% { 44 }
BB     23.11%  22.05%   1.06% { A9o }

Pretty crazy hand I think, but I don't play PKO's. 44 seems like the most optimistic play, because decent change 1 of the 3 all-inn players will have a better hand and this is 1 of the best outcomes equity wize if you know all hole cards.

Nah, KJo wants to entrap more chips in the pot which would entice the shortie to shove even lighter. Between the two decisions, his play was better.

I think KJo is cutting it pretty close for 80bb, but with reads that the deep guy would iso very wide this can be a great spot. Bounties are yummy and winning this hand pretty much guarantees you having a great bubble play.

I have no idea what the 44s were thinking...
