Just a question, how many times do you rebuy in a tournament? What do you guys consider when rebuying? Is it the prize pool or a soft field? Maybe you took a beat and want to get right back in there? Or is there something else I am missing? I was watching one of Lex's streams and he says that you should think of every rebuy as starting a new tournament. I can see why he say that if its the first few blind levels and I don't have to play a SSS. But if its close to the end of the rebuy period and the blinds are really high is it still worth it. I'm primarily a cash game and SNG player. Thanks

It also depends on how much the add-on is as well. Sometimes this is a lot higher than a rebuy. A rebuy is for example 5k and the add on is 50k. Than I would play until the end of the rebuy phase.

The add on is also strange, it might just be the site I play on. For example, after the rebuy period ends you get a break and during the break you can take a add on, but its something like like 5k I think (I am going to make sure when I next play) and it costs double the buy in (which is okay I guess), but by this time the blinds are something like 400/800. So I never end up taking a add (I think I've only taken one once)on or rebuying that often.
It's not about how big the blinds are.
MTTs are like SnGs. The more people go out and the closer you get to the money, the more valuable your starting stack gets. That's why a ton of pros late reg non-KO tournaments.
Assuming equal skill in a regular tournament, a starting stack is always more valuable at the end of the registration period than at the beginning.
And if the Add-On gives more chips than the starting stack for the price of the buy-in, you should always add-on.
If you don't really like the endless rebuys, just treat those tournaments as a 2x Buy-In Freezout and max late-reg and add-on.

But here's the thing, maybe I'm thick and not getting it, (I don't know if any other site is like this as I've only recently started playing tournaments more often) there is no late reg where I play, once the tournament starts, if you haven't already registered, you can't buy in you have to wait for the next one to start. I'm going to double check now as I'm going to grind but I'm sure its like this.

In PKO tournaments, if you are buying in with less than 1/2 average, then there aren't enough knockout targets available, and even worse, you become a knockout target.

Try opening tournaments that are running in different rooms and familiarize yourself - how many players are left near the registration closing, the average stack in BB and how many times the starting stack it is etc.
Check some players that you find interesting on sharkscope to see some stats and graphs

They are not multi table SNG, they are MTT, the site doesn't have multi table SNG, just normal SNG which gets almost no traffic and then turbo dbl up SNG which is kinda busy and then there some kinda jackpot sng where everyone is short.

I played multi table SNG on stars years back so I am familiar with them, this is a MTT. I've been playing them alot this year and I always found it strange when I see a thread about "Why you should late reg" and now with everyone talking about it at the wsop I thought to ask. I've always looked to see where I can late reg, but if I miss the 10:30 then I have to wait till 12:30.
It's the site I play on, the rake is 10% and the MTTs everyone seems to rebuy at least 3 times and only 7 places paid.
When I'm going to rebuy after busting out, I check to see how many levels post-bubble I would need to be to be in profit -- and I'll factor that in as well.
The few times that I did rebuy I did it during the first few levels, as later on its just not worth it IMO, even with the add on during the break. What frustrates me is when I bust someone they come right back like Freddy Kruger 
they never stay dead until after the break.
