Hi guys,
I'm having a serious performance issue with the WPT poker client on my new PC. I'm hoping someone has a fix for this, as the temperature is too high for safe grinding.
The Problem:
My CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600GT.
While running the WPT client, my CPU temperature consistently spikes and stays between 75°C and 80°C. This is happening even when running a single table.
The moment I close the WPT software, the temperature drops rapidly to a normal range. This clearly indicates the WPT client is the source of the high CPU/GPU load.
This high temperature is not present when running PokerStars or PartyPoker.
What I've Tried So Far (No change):
Compatibility Settings: Tried running the executable in compatibility mode (Windows 7/8).
DPI Scaling: Overrode High DPI Scaling behavior (set to System).
Fullscreen Optimizations: Disabled fullscreen optimizations.
Process Priority: Set the process priority (WPT.exe) to "Low" in Task Manager.
CPU Affinity: Limited the process to only 2 CPU cores.
Despite all these optimization attempts, the issue persists. Has anyone found a workaround, possibly a config file tweak or a specific driver setting, that forces the client to use fewer CPU resources?
Thanks for the help!
