Had a decent session of 120 ish SNGs with a nice profit today. managed to win two 180 mans today which is always nice (unfortunately i ran pretty cold in 45 mans :/)

Not so much, i just read the forum once in a while when i have time to kill.
I have like 20 post or smth since 2010

44 is tha nuts.

How is ur roi in 9m?
My small sample of 9m on stars compared to 180m is almost 100x as good. So just curious why you waste tables on STT.
And my 45m compared to 180 is around 2.5x as good. Im pretty sure the reason for this is that when i get to FT on 180m, its around 1/3 of the time im in either 1/2/3 in chips, which makes any2 very profitable. But again, i have only played ~500 180m. So 6 sessions. I usually play cashgame as i wrote above.

@Martin

ive played a rediculous small amount af 9 mans (<50 and im loosing in this sample)

i used those when starting session and actually wanted to get better at the format since STTs has higher stakes than MTSNGs. But at this point im almost exclusively playing MTSNGs.

45 man roi ~10% (1700 SNGs)

180 man roi ~17% (1750 SNGs)

i actually expect my true roi to be marginally higher at both formats, but i cant back that up by a bigger samplesize at this point ;)

im about to start todays session, and im gonna have the World Cup games running in the background when they start in a few hours ;)

Have been looking forward to the World Cup for a while and im super excited that it starts today ;)

GL at the tables!

another misserable day at the tables :/

unfortunately the variance in these games are starting to annoy me. i know i basicly just gotta grind it out, but a 2k+ games B/E run really hits my confidence!

Normally i couldnt care less about bad beats, but just know i was 1-tabling the big 4.4 and doing pretty well with a deep run when the following happened:

~250 players left when i get it in with AA vs KK pre for double avg pot. obviously he hits the turn. Left with 12 bbs i get dealt AKo the very next hand - gets it in vs K10s for nearly avg pot, he binks river and im left furious with my run bad... /Rant off

Prolly gonna take a few days off to regain fokus and reset my mental game ;)

Minor update:

finally updated to PT4 and im happy with it so far!

ive been sick and tired of the SNGs lately as a result of my mixed results. its very demotivating to grind 24 tbls for hours and not get anywhere.

therefore ive been donking arround in the microstakes PLO zoom games. ive played a bunch of hands the last 2 days and im slightly up at the moment. im hoping to get a better "feel" of the game before deciding whether to stay at these games or go back to mindlessly 24 tabling.

Ive played roughly 10k hands of zoom cashgames (mostly PLO) and i lost a few buy ins. the loss doesnt bother me that much, but i felt like a foreigner to the games. i realised (once again) that cashgames arent my "thing"

Therefore im turning my focus back to SNGs, and i'm gonna mix in some tours aswell - hopefully that can keep my motivation up!

At the moment im moving my rather big database from PT3 to PT4, and when im done, i'll start todays grind.

Thats it for now - i'll prolly throw in an update with a new VPP count when i'm done with the session.

Decent profit for the day and happy about grinding again (for now atleast ;))

I took out all the 45 man turbos in my schedule, and replaced them with 50% tours, and 50% 180 mans. im satisfied with my decision so far, but obviously i need some decent tour-cash in order for it to be a succes ;)

After reviewing my schedule the other day, ive actually done some more homework on the topic. i went through my database, and realised that ive been burning money at 27mans/18mans - meanwhile ive been winning consistently at 180mans and 45mans.

This basicly means that im gonna alter my schedule in order to get as many 180 mans as possible (>50%) and mixing them with 45 mans and MTTs.

ive had a slightly winning session tonight (yea still playing ;)) and im currently 1 tabling a 3.3$ 8max MTT beeing 3/9.

GL me (and every1 else playing atm) ;)

It's sad that PLO cash games didn't work out for you... but you're gonna feel like a foreigner in virtually any new format you'll be picking. So either have patience - the 'learning curve' is always nasty (especially in such difficult games as PLO and HU, leave aside their exPLOsive hybrid - HUPLO), recall the days when you were starting to play 180-mans - or be content with the profit you have in SnGs.

I find it worthwhile to cut the number of concurrent tables to 9-12 at most and focus on the quality of decision-making. If you slip into a losing style (e.g. if you play when tilted, which is a no-no; but it alas can happen in the middle of an SnG session, and that's the shortcoming that cash and especially Zoom are free from :f_cool: ), the increased number of tables will only multiply your loss.

Been away for the tables for a week now due to rl commitments.

I had a gr8 week coaching at a kids Football School in my local club ;) Its a super experience, but ive been super tired during the week and therefore not played a single poker hand.

Yesterday i made my comeback (is it allowed to call it a comeback when ive only been away for a week? ;)). I played a bunch of tournaments and SNGs and managed to come out on top with a profit (nothing extrordinary though).

The result im most happy about was a win in a "2.2$ turbo 4max 5x shootout". The money wasnt big - but i was very satisfied with my shorthanded and HU play during the tournament ;)

@Tony
Thanks for contributing to my blog ;) it was a bad move on my side to jump into PLO cashgames - SNGs just made me sick at the time. I should have just taken a break from poker for a few days.
I know i cant just jump into a new format and make $$ from day one, but i feel a bit stupid that i considered starting from scratch instead of keep working on my current game - in the end SNGs will always be my best game.

Gonna end this wall of text here, but ill throw in an update for June later today or first thing tommorow.

Small update on my performance in June:

Games played: 1081
Profit: 118$
Roi: 3,64%
VPPs: 1900 ish

Had a gr8 start followed by a 350$ downswing + some minor losses @ cashgames. Im happy that i ended in profit, but im dissapointed that i couldnt keep up a decent ROI.

Im a little dissapointed that "tilt" drove me to play cashgames. But im confident that it wont happen again. i know that my edge is in SNGs and next time a downswing occur i will just take a few days off poker!

I've played a lot this week and results have been decent - I'm at all time Bankroll peak ;)

Unfortunatelt i've been running super cold whenever i've been in an endgame spot in a tournament

Examples:

40 ish left of 2$ tournament. i'm short and shoving AQo first in from the button with 10ish bbs. SB calls, BB shoves and SB snaps it off. I'm up against AA and KK

14 left of 2.75$ tournamaent. Gets it in with QQ in a huge flip pre

I've had a bunch of deep runs lately, but those two were the most devastating to me...

I Feel my game is good, and im looking forward to playing every session. If i can keep this mindset up, i think im due to a FT in a big field tournament ;)

I'm gonna finish this update with a hand that shows that 99% equity on the flop is not always enough...

Had a day off poker today due to the worldcupfinal - but that doesnt mean that i cant reflect on my game and my blog ;)

I played a supernice session yesterday and booked a 200$ win which is like 60-70 buy ins ;)

Im looking to mix in more 6$/7$ 45 mans to my schedule from now on, and im not that far from introducing myself to the 8$ 180 mans. I know already that my mindset is going to be my worst enemy when starting to mix in a new buy in lvl and any suggestions on how to prepare for moving up is appriciated!!!

Im way behind pace to goldstar @pokerstars, but im hoping to get a lot of sessions in during micromillions and obv. Run good @mttss during this.

Gl to any1 grinding ;)

Wow - just had a brutal session... (whining incoming)

basicly doomswitched from the start of my session - nothing works and im down 200$ pretty fast. I stopped regging to new games and found my tablecount declining fast without any cashes...

i mincashed a few and used this money to buy into a couple of tours, since i wasnt quite rdy to call it a day. i regged a 4.4$ turbo zoom tour and ran in godmode for the first hour only rarely giving up the chiplead. i basicly cruised into the money before getting remotely short and had to used some more all in rungood ;)

long story short: here's my bustout hand from 6handed play :/

http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/9866032_498C2D2CB6

i should be happy about getting just 10$ shy of even for the day, but at this point i just have that empty feeling of the tournament getting ripped away from me :/

i know its poker and all but i just hate that i run soooo bad in every interesting endgame spot these days...

/Whining over

I'm gonna get some sleep - and then i'll get right back at it tommorow - hopefully making topspots in my deep runs ;)

I've played a decent amount of sessions this week. unfortunately i havent been making any profit so far (loosing 150$ ish). I'm still top motivated, and i'll start todays session in a couple of minutes.

Hopefully i will be able to turn things arround and make a deep run in a micromillions event ;)

GL to any1 shooting for fame and fortune in the micromillions ;)

For some reason my motivation took a hit during my session. stop regging and finished the tournaments ongoing. i made a tiny profit, but it kinda bothers me that i didnt feel like playing anymore during second half of my session.

im gonna take a break for atleast tomorrow - and depending on my hangover sunday i might be back for a session ;)

Just gonna leave this beauty of a hand for you to enjoy ;) (im not involved but it happend at my table)
