Been a while since the last update, cause had a little break from playing poker, mostly just watched "old'ish" platinum videos, as well as the whole Bootcamp thing/videos, and also some other personal live stuff under way, which I'm still contemplating, but all in all, as mentioned before, some bigger changes are coming to my "day-to-day" routine, and gonna update it here as soon as everything will be ready.
And as for today, the PLAN is:
- 2 new recent PS.com videos
- a mix of satellites and tourneys for the evening
Learning:
"Bootcamp: Oblioo on Defending vs a Button Minraise" by oblioo
Duration: 26 minutes.
Nice video, took a screenshot of the suggested ranges. Logical explanations and reasoning, clear voice. Decent video in general on all aspects imo.
Little summary:
As a general rule concerning 3bets, suggestion is to be more polarized in BB and depolarized in SB. Also when getting deeper, 3betting OOP should be less frequent and more polarized, assuming the villain who has position on you is a good/tough reg. And when facing 3xopen instead of min-open, ranges should tighten up noticeably.
Choose a good cbet size in 3bet pots. In general, do not cbet 2/3 flop, leaving you with a weird stack on the turn, where if you get called on flop, you cannot really cbet turn 1/2 leaving you pot committed, and also like cbetting 1/3, giving opponent a very good odds to call. So the TIP would be (assuming <150bb deep, btn MIN open, and your 7bb3bet, dryish board, not vs fish): cbet ~10% of the effective stack on flop, setting up stacks for a reasonable cbet on turn, and ~3/4 pot size river shove.
"Interesting Spots" by CollinMoshman
Duration: 31 minutes.
Didn't watch till the end though, cause it was ALLLL JUST about Nash, whereas I thought it would still be a little more stuff relevant to MTTs in general, even though he IS mainly SnG coach as I recall correctly
and also I was a bit curious to try one of his videos anyway, never watched any before, and the tittle also kinda got to me - good job on picking such
So yeah, in overall, if you're and sngs grinder I bet the video is kinda good imo
Playing:
17:45 tourney: 423/1.100, aip being 66% ahead
Last hand. Guy steals btn over 25%, so plenty of FE, and also we can be called by worse suited Ax or underpairs maaaaybe, and especially when sb called, much more dead money in the pot, so I think my 10bbs shove is nice here, but unfortunately, we get called by sb ...
BTN: 5,710 (28.6 bb)
SB: 4,612 (23.1 bb)
Hero (BB): 1,993 (10 bb)
Preflop: Hero is BB with 8♥ A♠
6 folds, BTN raises to 424, SB calls 324, Hero raises to 1,968 and is all-in, BTN folds, SB calls 1,544 with A♣ 4♠
Flop: (4,585) 4♦ 3♣ 4♣ - sure, why not again
(2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: (4,585) Q♦ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: (4,585) 3♥ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
18:00 tourney: 2.826/3.800+, out when all-in 87% ahead
This is the last hand, how do you like it ? ♦
Villain was a HUGE fish with 92-67, with a 60% 3bet :f_love:, so thats why the call OOP [also in this situation when such an aggro fish maniac is behind, open limp I guess could be good as well, but didn't want both fishes from blinds with complete crap in the pot in case this guy does not play with me], and also because he was bluffing so much and soooo bad postflop, and calling off sooo soo light, that I knew if I'm gonna hit TP or SD, I'm gonna go for it, and have the best hand a loooot of the time vs him, so ...
CO: 2,412 (40.2 bb)
Hero (MP3): 2,175 (36.3 bb)
Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J♥ Q♠
4 folds, Hero raises to 127, CO raises to 420, 3 folds, Hero calls 293
Flop: (975) 2♣ 9♠ Q♥ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets 420, Hero raises to 1,750 and is all-in, CO calls 1,330
Turn: (4,475) A♥ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: (4,475) 7♠ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Results: 4,475 pot
CO showed A♦ 3♦ and won - sure, why not
Hero showed J♥ Q♠ and lost (-2,175 net)
19:09 satellite: out in 5 min, being all-in on flop 86% ahead
This is the nice hand:
MP3: 8,910 (111.4 bb)
CO: 5,630 (70.4 bb)
Hero (BTN): 2,620 (32.8 bb)
Preflop: Hero is BTN with K♥ Q♠
4 folds, MP3 raises to 160, CO calls 160, Hero calls 160, 2 folds
Flop: (600) K♠ 4♥ 3♥ (3 players)
MP3 bets 320, CO calls 320, Hero raises to 840, MP3 folds, CO raises to 3,040, Hero calls 1,620 and is all-in
Both players were huge CT fishes [CO also on the too aggro side once in a while], so that's why the small thin value raise on flop, cause they were going to call me with much much worse, and also sometimes I think I can provoke a spazz with my sizing here, from the player like CO, which in this case it is exactly what happened ...
Turn: (5,840) T♦ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: (5,840) 2♥ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Results: 5,840 pot
CO showed 2♣ K♣ and won 5,840 (3,220 net)
Hero showed K♥ Q♠ and lost (-2,620 net)
19:19 satellite: out in 5 minutes as well, aip being 75% ahead
Are you kidding me ???
Not that this isn't a normal cooler once in a while, I definitely won't cry about it when that happens, but come on - FOUR - of them in 30 minutes time in ALL 4 tournaments ?? ♠_evil:
CO: 6,000 (40 bb)
BTN: 1,970 (13.1 bb)
Hero (SB): 2,315 (15.4 bb)
BB: 4,000 (26.7 bb)
UTG+2: 4,791 (31.9 bb)
MP1: 6,516 (43.4 bb)
MP2: 3,575 (23.8 bb)
MP3: 2,000 (13.3 bb)
Preflop: Hero is SB with A♦ Q♦
2 folds, MP2 raises to 300, MP3 folds, CO raises to 975, BTN folds, Hero raises to 2,315 and is all-in, BB folds, MP2 raises to 3,575 and is all-in, CO folds
Both guys of course are fishes, mp opens more than 25%, CO 3bets around 27%, and I have a very nice hand being 15bb deep, so I happily get it in vs THESE TWO GUYS, expecting to be called by much worse, and even sometimes to get just folded to, won't be too surprised to see it from huge fish as CO was, but ... this is what actually happened:
Flop: (5,755) 4♠ 8♣ 9♦ (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Turn: (5,755) J♥ (2 players, 2 are all-in)
River: (5,755) 3♥ (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Results: 5,755 pot
Hero showed A♦ Q♦ and lost (-2,315 net)
MP2 showed A♥ J♦ and won 5,755 (3,440 net)

?MAYBE?* 20:05 satellite:

?MAYBE?* 21:00 satellite:

* depends on how the previous games will go: if super unlucky, then I will call it a day, no need to burn money anymore; if normal - then gonna play all of them.
Yeah, so it's safe to say that this day was not just "super unlucky" but super-SUPER-ATROCIOUSLY-unlucky ... God, don't even remember such a day
Not that I would be losing by sad setups or losing flips, but it was FOUR times in ALL FOUR tourneys vs FOUR huge FISHES all FOUR times being WAY AHEAD
Really, not much else to say, I'm frankly stunned, and do not have any more comments ♠_confused: Better luck to others tonight !
