My plan was to c/r flop. But after SB just clicks I was totally lost. I probably made the worst decision and after that action finally thought "WTF?". Any help and/or guesses for villians hands?

GG Poker - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 102.5 BB
SB: 84.7 BB
Hero (BB): 118.2 BB
UTG: 218 BB
MP: 112.7 BB
CO: 124.9 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 6:heart: 9:heart:

UTG raises to 2.2 BB, fold, fold, fold, SB calls 1.7 BB, Hero calls 1.2 BB

Flop: (6.6 BB, 3 players) 2:heart: T:heart: 8:spade:
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets 4 BB, SB raises to 8 BB, Hero calls 8 BB, UTG raises to 31 BB, SB raises to 82.5 BB and is all-in, fold, UTG calls 51.5 BB

Turn: (179.6 BB, 2 players) K:heart:

River: (179.6 BB, 2 players) 6:diamond:

Most noticeable stuff for the NL10 R&C pool on GG atm:

  • very tight in general
  • huge 3b size
  • high f3b
  • high auto fold BB

Have to validate with DB analysis. Current strat seems to work out:

  • loose up a little bit
  • fold to fast action
  • 3bet more but small
  • complete SB very often for auto profit

I am a bit surprised - from my perspective I always thought smallstakes players make the mistake of 3betting too small. What's the usual sizing that you encounter?

I did some filtering to validate the very last point from my last post. Of course the sample size is very small. But hopefully it is better than nothing and I am not only on the sunny side of variance.

Spoiler

Just some things for the small blind I realize by starring at these numbers:

  • 30% first in sounds very much
  • I simply loose money by folding
  • with 2.5BB steal I do not have auto profit
  • with open limping I have auto profit
  • stealing is still more profitable than limping while success is nearly the same

Regarding the last point I state the main factors are

  • no rake for successful steal
  • opening range contains (more) strong value hands

How is all this helpful for me? Well I will fine tune my first in small blind ranges by extending the raising range with some hands that I currently limp and by extending the latter with hands that I currently fold. I am curious about the aftermath.

Most of the time it is in the range of 10-13BB. That alone is not unusual. I just have the feeling that many players have this static size that is not adjusted to open sizes, positions, stats and pot size. My statement was not precise there. An everyday recurring example is 2,5BB CO open vs 11,5BB BU 3b. I do not see the sense in such a huge raise.

I just checked my DB on NL5 R&C and during 7757 hands played I posted 1288x the SB where I came first in 393 times. Also not a big sample but 30% FI opportunity seems legit. But where you had an ATS of 15% I had one of 56% and were successful 66% of the time. Although my raise size was with 3.2BB propably way too big.

mhh... I would have pushed if villain checks. any thoughts? I am not sure, if I am on the right track to do good folds. my pf line is not standard, but had a feeling on inducing some 3b here. sadly villain called. that is something i am not prepared for atm.

Just had a similar hand only I 4bet bluffed from LJ. Villain called and then jammed potsize on a 96something board. I honestly don't get that donk shove. Is it like they feel already commited to the pot and just shove the rest into the middle? But still, why not check back and maybe induce a cbet or something. Idk man...

Unlucky last hand as extremely short stack. It's to bad the BB overplayed a stronger J in a multiple all-in.

Playing tournaments as a German is very demotivating. With the restriction to 4 tables you are very limited in volume and it is difficult to compensate for the variance.

good week so far :f_drink: reached some final tables and started recording them. reason is to be somewhat observed and play more focused then. well it turned out to be a good idea on the 3rd try with another first place :f_biggrin:

if there is interest on side of PS for some low stakes final table user session review I can provide the video. would be beneficial for me too :f_thumbsup:
