The year is looking good so far :) If everything doesn't go to shit by Sunday night, I should be moving up to the 30s too

I played my first 2 hour sessions today though and I'm not happy -_- part variance, part bad plays. I forget sometimes how far off people's ranges are from nash sometimes lol.

Can't wait to go see these guys at igloofest next Thursday though

HEEEEYYYYY!

I decided to start posting some threads in here again almost daily so that I get a good slap in the face when I'm slacking off :)

So much happened since the last time I posted in here... over a year's worth 8-o
If I remember correctly, I moved up to the 30s in the 6max hypers and was doing ok. Then had a great 5-7%ev month in between Ferbruary-March when I was in a house with some fellow bosses, living the dream _biggrin: Then everything went to shit when I got back home and would practically stop studying /started partying too much with the university friends who were on summer vacation... Unfortunately it took a pretty big hit at the end of the year to wake me up.

I had a great mentality going into 2015! I was studying almost as much as the last February and was putting in some good time in-game too. But the 6-max weren't crushable anymore just with amazing ICM, and everyone else were using some little tricks that I wasn't ready for so it wasn't the best start of the year results wise (although WAY better than the previous 3 months :) ). After a few months, I ended up moving to the spins and started to study this post-flop game that everyone was talking about :f_thumbsup:

I can't even remember how many hours I put in the studying the first couple weeks lol! I remember crushing the 15s though like no other once I decided to take a shot at it :profit:
Then came moving up to the 30s, which is where this blog is coming into play. In the 15s, I wouldn't really mind the mistakes that I was making since my ROI would still easily be above 5%. The profits would still be coming in so I would safely study and bring that % up high enough where I could play the 30s. Although in the 30s, I can't deal with those mistakes so easily since it feels like I'm losing (or BE) during that session. So I stop playing and study. A lot of the time the "study break" is way too long and ends up hurting me.

SO, I'm well aware that these short swings where I feel that I'm making all of the mistakes, are standard downswings a descent number of the time where I'm letting myself think that I'm playing horribly (making me take way too many breaks which leads to no volume and slacking off)!

The bottom line is that I need to work on my mentality ASAP! And I believe that typing in this blog will help. Plus I could meet new people here _drink:
I really can't go through another winter in Montreal haha. Too damn cold!!! Improving my mentality, imo, will lead me to not freeze once November hits  I'll be able to, at the very least, rent out a place in the south for a few month.

Alright, I'll be be updating tomorrow! Good night!

Welcome back :welcome:

Nice update of the last year of playing
I’m pretty bad to handle the variance in the hypers.
Do you have a goal to reach SuperNova or higher on PokerStars?

I’m pretty bad in ignoring posts. So I removed one for you :f_wink:

Cheers,

Haha thanks for the welcome SDK

I already have ~150k VPPs this year so supernova is no problem _thumbsup: I don't have any goal in mind VPPs wise right now and the 100k VPP milestones aren't huge (as oppose to playing well in-game) but maybe I could go for the 500k mark since I'm planning on working harder and playing more now =)

First day back here was a success!!!!         (what happens after watching 4 pewdiepie videos)

I just stumbled upon tolari's forum today and he posted a very sexy hand. I wanted to be as sexy as him in that moment at first, but now I just can't believe that I actually found the hand I was thinking about so I'm posting this for mostly that reason lol.

Good morning!
I was so tired yesterday that I forgot to update lol

I wanted to play so much more vs all of these Friday fish too :f_mad: but my brain was at so many places lol, I wasn't sure what kind of edge I had so went to bed :f_p:

Anyway, I ended up playing 228 games at 11.19%evROI well I think I got a game where the guy sat out and gave me ~750 chips so it was a 10-11% day. Now to run good in the multipliers.

GL HF everyone!

Descent week :) 957 games at 8%ev

I'm definitely going for 1500+ games this week. There'll be no alcohol, and all of the coffee lol

Good night!

I'm calling it early tonight with 187 games. I haven't gotten more than 6 hours of sleep in the past few days so that'll be amazing :)
I managed to hit a 10x AND a 25x today... lost them both :P and then was stuck with a blue 2x screen for an hour 0_0 One of those days. Still ~6%ev haha. I'm just praying that I don't lose the next big one

gn!

Interesting hand for sure on the Spin & Go table if I see it right.
I would easy fold the river, but I expect the hand poster set him on a missed draw.

@SDK: that was the hand that I played. From what I've seen in the 30s, I can't imagine anyone donking 1/2 pot with a non-polarized range (two pair/A/missed draw). Since it only needs to work 40% of the time, it looks like it comes down to whether villain is calling an Ace pre instead of 3betting it (which almost never happens vs someone who isn't 76/8) and if I think villain is tilted/drunk :P If I remember correctly, based on stats villain looked OK, and this was in a 4x. The 4x will make a :pcuser: player look at the hand twice, and a small raise like that couldn't possibly be a bluff :milord: I do think that it's close, but with all that in mind, voila!

++Holy shit this is my first time experiencing a multiplier swing :rage: I have 19k actual chips won in 338 games (6.7% -> +$679.38) and am -$660 this week :rage: Now that I type 338 games, it's nothing lol. It got to me when I was playing though and spewed more than usual  Tomorrow morning I'll reread this, give myself a slap in the face, and get'er done :sfishg: GLHF everyone else that are grinding.

Hi mate! Will be following this again. Maybe it's a good idea to at least start blogging again. Feels kinda lonely after our group died. It's been the funniest skype chat I've seen :)

So happy to see you play spins. Only me and Alex left in 30-100s 6maxes. So wishing truly honestly best of luck in spins and never look back! :gl:

Hey man! Yea I feel like I'm a little bit more connected to the poker community when I'm blogging especially when I'm barely chatting on skype  lol yea I almost wish that the group was still together just to read chat xD
Hahaha thanks they're all yours _thumbsup: All I need now is to hit that 3600x multiplier and switch to live poker
... lol the 3600x for the 30s hit yesterday :why: ok going for the the next 200x now :P

Alright onto the grind

Fuck it's hard to get through these swings. I think I lasted 20 minutes this time lol. It was one of those "they bet every time, so they can't have it every time right?" and "it's impossible to get anyone to call me for more than one barrel (including b/x/b, x/b/b) because they have every read on me even though I'm balanced".:rage:
Not sure if I can go back to grinding since I've already gulped a little bit of vodka. So I'll study for a while and check out what the fuss is about on CSGO

(sorry for a shitty post. It's somewhat helping me)

Today was a pretty frustrating day. There were a lot of close spots GTO wise but I should've folded more than I did vs the randoms that didn't seem good enough to make barreling bluffs/thin value raises. The standard shove/3betting spots were pretty shitty too but eh, that's not nearly as bad.
Ended the week with a weak ~+35 EVchips/game (2.72%evROI). But now I'm in a good rhythm and am grinding hard in the next month!

New goal for the next 4 weeks: 5k games

Heeeeyyyy

I was making too many mistakes in standard situations today and yesterday so I ended up studying and playing some CSGO :f_drink:
It's surprising how much basic check/cbet ranges will affect your winrate in hu :O I keep slipping in and out of this 90% cbet "style" after the weekends when I keep getting 2 nit games... So I studied up on my GTO ranges (again) and shouldn't be setting myself up for all of the b/f

Tomorrow's going to be good _cool:

haha I almost forgot about this blog again :f_o: I've been studying so hard lately that I haven't had the energy to post anything interesting here xD Tonight was a night out to see the friends that I haven't seen in a hwile (hwile) so here I am. Volume is definitely not in pace for 5k, even though I'm definitely going crazy in the second half and might actually hit it. I'll keep you guys updated

PS (beer): if you visit Montreal, Alexander Keith is your best bet for a descent beer in a bar (unless they have their own IPA). Holy flip I had this Spaten beer in NYC a couple weeks ago, it was just as good as all of the German beer I had when I visited Germany :O :O :O :O :O :O :O And of course you need to get poutine. That's just obvious. And not at Mcdonalds -_- At "la belle province", "frites alors", blablabla. Good night! :f_drink:

Hey to anyone who visits this blog: here's my graph for my 10k games that I've played. I also sprained my foot about 3 weeks ago. It was actually a good thing that that happened lol. Since I could barely walk on it, I ended up spending 12 hours minimum everyday studying/playing poker at my computer. So now I learned all the math and logic around postflop poker aswell as MTT poker. There are still some spots that I make mistakes GTO wise, but those should be solved soon enough. So my ROI is only 3.7% total. Hopefully I can get a good diet and sleep schedule going again so that my mental state is at 100% while I play. I'm not sure what ROI is possible anymore since spinwiz was banned by pokerstars, but I would think that 7% is very do-able. So I'm aiming for 5% right now (of which I have been surpassing recently).

Damn it I started 2-tabling late in the evening just to play some poker, and this happened :f_frown: At least I'm due for a 200x too lol. Hopefully that one goes well.

Hey bros and bras who are reading this!

I'll be streaming on twitch @ twitch.tv/ZonerTy all day today and for days to come

I started a youtube channel (youtube.com/ZonerTy) too that doesn't have any poker related stuff in there now but I just uploaded an update basically saying that I'll be making some exciting poker related videos almost daily now; that I'll have to tone down on the gaming and do that maybe 2-3 times per week; and maybe get a very high quality youtube video in there once per week.
