Harsh day on poker when everyone seems to be running a bit better than you!

Anyway, after all set-ups and so manager to grind from nearly -4bin to BE day! Some hero-calls made my results a bit lower and I must remember to stick to my plan in future with hands - bet/fold is bet/fold and cback is chback, you don't take a call even if the odds are ridiculously good

1. This same guy limped in previously with AQ and played passive. Now he raises river. This is what happens when someone looks only to their own hand and forget relative hand-strength

Final Board: 2 8 2 7 3
SB showed A A and lost (-$6.10 net)
Hero showed 7 2 and won $11.65 ($5.55 net)

2. In this hand I think I played it rather well before river. Hard to take more value from worse in his range, perhaps AQ/AJ. Villain seemed a bit spewwy so decided to ch/call. Should have bet 2d on river as a blocker/inducer vs him

Hi! Well, NL10 has been treating me quite well so far - I'm up over 230d since 17.6 when I started on NL10, and in addition I had +100d from milestone campaing! Nl25 is quite near, going to take shots soon.

Think I had the longest session ever! In addition, had one strategy discussion with Alleen86 before that as my Skype refused to allow us have sweat session

Session graph. Some bad play, then some players had the best luck ever! On one spot I had 2 hands in a row where my overpair lost on turn against a turned set S*** happens, what can you say? In EV graph these sessions had been way ++, so no worries yet.

Watched Finnish No-limit course coaching today. Didn't see any value in it after all. It was just so.. Hero did mistakes all the time and he lost some BIN there. And he cbetted way too much to give up. Well, you can't always win and as the coach said, he noticed being a bit bad due to hot summer.. :)

Goals for the rest of the month are clear. Playing one short session tomorrow, then going to keep a break on Sunday. Monday would be good to see one coaching where the coach is supposed to view my HH on one session. Not sure though that I chose the best session.

Funny..

Last day of poker this month!

Red-line is rising so high, out of my mind. Adapted some new things to my game and I was supposed to take a shot to NL25. Meeh, I had table limitations on Stars, so no way to try! NL10 seems to offer good value today, too.

Some hands:

1. This villain had floated me from time to times. Check-back turn and let him bluff on river with his air or value-bet mid-pairs or so. His bet was snap and it was weak, so easy raise to put some pressure on him. Though I don't rep that much it's hard for him to call.

UTG raises to $0.30, MP folds, Hero raises to $0.90, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.60

Flop: ($1.95) 3 9 2 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $1, UTG calls $1

Turn: ($3.95) 6 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

River: ($3.95) 5 (2 players)

Results:

Final Board: 3 9 2 6 5
UTG mucked and lost (-$3.80 net)
Hero mucked A J and won $7.40 ($3.60 net)

2. Villain was a monkey donkey and I was still stupid enough to steal from him! No matter, decided to cback and let him do something funny on blank turns and I could have raised him with GSSD. I hit my turn and vb vs him. River is blank, he doesn't have any Qx in his range and he snaps it. His been snapping all day long and I have been giving up, so snap call.

3. Another different play. Villain donked a lot, so on this spot I wanted to apply some pressure to his weaker range. 4x isn't ofc the best card to do it but I doubt he understands it. This way I'm buying free SD, too, with my weak top-pair.

Hopefully I can make my equipment to work with WIN8, too!

Here's a good example, kids, how to minimize value with AK:

River: ($7.35) 5 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

Results:

Final Board: 9 7 8 K 5
Hero mucked Q Q and lost (-$3.60 net)
UTG showed A K and won $7.02 ($3.42 net)

 Just calling 3-bet versus relatively wide 3-bettor? Looks like he is unbalanced, like any other reg on NL10 Anyway, just calling turn and ch/x river... weak overall.

4. Villain's play was good in some way, but he would have needed a lot more reads on me to do that. Ofc, that way he could have made me fold hands like AJ/AT and he had some equity there. I would love this play more if it was like co vs bu or so. Now it's too thin.

Going to add some results for this month, I guess this will be last update in June. Or then I'm posting some trolling pictures tomorrow, who knows! Last update about poker at least.

So overall this month has been great - first started to dominate NL5 and then had some boosts on Milestone Campaign. That way I got bankroll to over 300d in no time. After that I moved to NL10 tables where I started crushing other players. Graphs seem quite good, had some about BE session though a bit before half-way. Nothing spesific reason for that, it just seemed that my run went worse a bit. After all, this was the best winning month in Stars and a bit better than my best on Titan Poker. My game for post-flop developed a lot and I have new weapons to exploit weaker enemies. I have also developed more balanced ranges for 3-betting, flatting and 4-betting, as well as for opening in certain positions.

Goals for my next month are:

:diamond: Try to find balanced ch/raise flop range - find spots and players that you can do that with TPTK or so. Try to find also good enemies to 3-bet flop as a bluff. Do some calculations about how often you need to succeed!

:diamond: Go to gym - I must build up my Strength in many ways, in Poker and outside of it.

:diamond: Grind 30k hands at least - Good volume is essential to win something for live roll, too. Having 1k hands/day isn't impossible at all IMO.

:diamond: Become regular in NL25 - this is one of my main goal here. Have good enough Stack for NL25 and perhaps good enough stack to take shots on NL50 by the end of the month. Who knows.

:diamond: Watch at least 1 mind-set video, see 1 coaching and read some articles - in addition, watch at least 2 interesting videos on PS.

Some graphs..

1. Month on NL10:

2. Today, which made my Red-line for once to stay ++. Got to brag about it!

Then I'm going to put top 2hands I found this month:

1. Biggest pot:

Hero (BTN): $10.14 (101.4 bb)

UTG: $12.48 (124.8 bb)
MP: $9.87 (98.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 9 8
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.20, CO calls $0.20, Hero calls $0.20, SB calls $0.15, BB folds

Flop: ($0.90) 7 T 6 (4 players)
SB checks, MP bets $0.49, CO folds, Hero raises to $1.76, SB calls $1.76, MP raises to $9.67 and is all-in, Hero raises to $9.94 and is all-in, SB calls $8.18

Turn: ($30.45) 2 (3 players, 2 are all-in)
River: ($30.45) T (3 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$30.45 pot ($1.37 rake)
Final Board: 7 T 6 2 T
Hero showed 9 8 and won $29.08 ($18.94 net)
SB showed A 8 and lost (-$10.14 net)
MP showed K K and lost (-$9.87 net)
CO mucked and lost (-$0.20 net)

2. Spot where I abused my villains' too wide 3-bet range:

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $10 (100 bb)
SB: $10.15 (101.5 bb)
BB: $10 (100 bb)
UTG: $11.20 (112 bb)
MP: $10 (100 bb)
Hero (CO): $17.08 (170.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A 2
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN folds, SB raises to $1, BB folds, Hero raises to $2.20, SB folds

Results:

Spoiler

$2.10 pot
Hero mucked A 2 and won $2.10 ($1.10 net)

That's it folks. Hopefully I can join NL25 on July and crush there. If not, I can always beat NL10... :f_cool:

First update on July,

NL25 wasn't that succesful at first try. Had some bad luck and also a bit scared money there, so my shots weren't that succesful. The run was a bit rough, though - with a sample of 4500 hands, I hit my set twice (!!!) and both of them ended on flop when villain just nicely folded. Most of the time someone plays back at you there, though. And I lost 3-4 BI's by leveling myself on draw heavy board that they are raising me off light and barreling 3 streets.. NOT! Maybe I overestimated some regs on that level, but when I get my BR back for NL25 I will be more cautious. Also, people tend to cold 4-bet a lot more from BB vs SB vs BTN (CO)

Back TO NL10 for a while. Hopefully I'll join NL25 soon.

Hello there!

First: A Thread saver! Maybe it will give me one thumb up or down..

And then analyzing some of my hands for today.

1. Not much to analyze, but sweet pot it was :f_cool: . Villain on sb had 3-bet % of 50. Small sample, but might be loose. BB cold calls 3-bet, and in this spot I'd 4bet with many blocker hands, too, to get the extra dead money on the pot. Besides, SB's range for 3-bet is rather weak. When he 5-bets me I put his range a lot more tighter, KK+(QQ?), and after 5-bet I can't see him folding, so the hand played itself. This just shows how much people actually look to their own hand more than villains and how spewwy they can be if deep. Luckily he didn't hit K as my session would have been BE due to that and my mind-set a bit angry, perhaps. But all went better than expected.

Final Board: 2 8 9 7 8
SB showed K K and lost (-$23.33 net)
Hero showed A A and won $46.06 ($22.73 net)

2. A bluff vs post-flop nit who can has 3-betted before. Decided to call this hand to hit my T, but I also had a plan to bluffraise some flops as he would definitely give up hands like JJ vs raise on 285r boards. Most likely. This flop hits him well, but it hits my flat range, too, so decided to raise on the spot. This time it worked.

3. 3-betted this as a bluff pre-flop. Would have cbetted the flop with backdoor EQ or so, but this flop hits him so well that I tried to just chf it. When he checks 2 streets I think he has AK/AJ or so, and he seemed like a player that can fold, so I decided to try to push him off from those hands by betting with value sizing on river. He tanked long time and folded. These small decisions and spots are great to improve one's redline

Sometimes I just wonder how any Fish can survive in the game and how some regs are ever donating their stacks for them. They play face-up! In this hand his range is Qx and nothing more. And he min-raises even against my 2bb blocker Funny. River was a friend this time.

Hi all,

I think I have developed my skills a lot recently. Nowadays I apply a lot of pressure for villains IP and try to make 3-bets and plays that are hard to exploit. I try to be as badass villain as possible and I try to steal a lot of hands. Next thing to look at is developing a solid 4-bet bluffrange, though I think I will need that on NL25, not NL10. Right now NL10 feels that it's full of fish - even the regs are fish! Everyone is playing about face-up and they are not taking my stack without set-ups. One set-up I faced today where my QQ was beaten by 88. On the contrary, some villains had slowplayed AA's and I have managed to bink a set with my KK, so in a way I'm luck-boxing as well. No can do, it's their own fault

Okay, some big pot hands today:

1. This is a spot where I 3-bet squeeze wider than just QQ. Anyway, now I hit big time and the board is way too dry to cbet - it will just generate folds most of the time and there's definitely not hands in their ranges that would hit this hard. Now when villain bets 1/3 I think he is either a) bluffing or b) value-betting. On turn I go for a raise as I think he would most likely scare many river cards and he could stop bluffing as I shouldn't be folding my hand to a 3rd barrel in this spot. So better to go with the hand. When he 3-bets turn it's obvious he has a set.

2. Similar spot to the previous one. I lock up the board and there's no way he had hit hard, so better to let him bluff. This time he didn't have a bluff, though, but a slowplay.

3. This hand was supposed to be simple, but it wasn't. The villain was a big station, so when I bet flop and he snaps I think his range is mostly Kx, some mid-pairs. Turn is perfect for me and I bet, he snap-calls. River is a nasty one vs fish, but he shouldn't have all 2's in his range. Now when he snap-raises me on river I'm already looking for the fold button, as his hand looks like nuts...

This is one of those spots where EV graph doesn't apply that well.. His play is bad according to it, my play was excellent. Well, anyway, what a hand. On flop I started to smell something suspicious, like 99 or even KK, who knows what they slowplay. Turn is a good card ofc and I decide to give a raise as I think no flush will fold. And I would have to play river OOP and he could cback some hands that could call now (e.g A :diamond:Kxx)

Easy game... _biggrin:

Then short session on NL25:

Unknown villain. This board hits neither of us that hard. Many player stabb versus a check --> CH/raise seems like a valid plan and we continue on any turn practically as any turn improve our equity. Turn looks good, we could have an ace and I can't see any ace in his calling range. 1/2 bet for value is good. River is great, now Aces are no good for me and it looks like a board where someone could bluff bet to get me out of chops. So I ch/raise here to get it all in and he had a good hand this time.
