The action started with Brett Chalhoub opening to 5,000 from under the gun plus one. Gary Benson made the call from the button, before Iori Yogo bumped it up to 20,000 from the button. Chalhoub got out of the way, and Benson made the call.
The flop came down T♣7♥K♦ and Yogo checked. Benson made it 17,000 to go and was called shortly after. The turn brought the K♥ and Yogo quickly checked before Benson instantly moved all in for his last 45,000 in chips. Yogo deliberated over his decision and finally made the call.

Benson had made a full house on the turn and was looking in great shape to double up. However the K♠ fell on the river to give Yogo the higher full house as Benson was left shocked, making his way out of the tournament area.

Wasn't it fierce. Simonds Stadium (Kardinia Park) is such a narrow ground so there was no place to hide.

Ryan Crowley was outstanding on Stevie J. The defensive pressure from both sides was outstanding.

We're only an hour away from the much anticipated AFL Elimination Finals clash between traditional rivals Richmond and Carlton at the iconic MCG.

This is a very interesting clash with Richmond at $1.50 against Carlton at $2.60.

Richmond who have been starved of finals footy for the past 30 years with only 2 appearances (the last in 2001) have the pressure of great expectations from the Tiger Army and have shown themselves to be brittle under pressure at times.

The Blues on the other hand have selected what I believe to be their best 22 (minus Andrew Carazzo) and are noted tough nuts to crack under pressure.

My tip is that Carlton will hold an edge until three quarter time and will gradually increase their lead in the last quarter for a comfortable win.

Blues by 36 points.

Wow. What a game. Richmond were as far as 36 points in front but wilted in the second half to lose by 20 points to the much tougher Carlton outfit.

Pup's century along with a quick fire 80 odd from Beetle Bailey (fellow Tasmanian) allowed the Aussies to post an imposing 315 which is extremely difficult to chase down and although England tried valiantly they ultimately fell comfortably short.

It;s the penultimate week in AFL so that means Grand Final qualifiers (Preliminary Finals). The 2 winners face of next week in the Grand Final, while the 2 losers can only wonder "what if".

Hawthorn Hawks Vs Geelong Cats
Fremantle Dockers Vs Sydney Swans

I'm tipping Hawthorn to finally break the "Kennett Curse". Hawthorn haven't beaten Geelong for 5 years (2008 Grand Final) and even though Hawthorn went the regular season 19-3, 2 of those losses were to Geelong.

The reason I'm tipping Hawthorn is the return of the mercurial Cyril Rioli as well as the weeks break. Geelong on the other hand have lost last weeks hero Paul Chapman to suspension and Corey Enright to injury as well as having had a bruising encounter with Port Adelaide last week.

In the other match, I'm predicting a fairly easy win for the Dockers over the Swans. The Dockers coming of a weeks break ,have a massive homeground advantage and coming of a win 2 weeks ago against the Cats at their fortress (42 wins from last 43 prior to that game) look almost unstoppable.

It's hard to see either home side having to much trouble here.

Manly have a very strong forward pack and one of the form players in Daly Cherry-Evans. Cronulla were lucky to beat the Cowboys last week and the loss of Todd Carney is a huge blow.

The Storm and Bulldogs match up against each other fairly well. Both have strong tough forwards and fast creative backs but Melbourne's relentless pressure should eventually wear down a gallant Bulldogs outfit.
