Hey everyone!
I have been a member here at this great community for some time now, so i think its time i started a blog!

The main reason i wanted to start this blog, is to not only track my progress, but hopefully pinpoint weaknesses in my game that haven't yet been brought to my attention and also help me to focus more and consistently play well instead of having a few decent sessions, then spewing it back to break even days later.
And ofc meet new people!

About me,

Im 23 years old living in Newcastle Australia. Im an apprentice metal roofer working for my dads company. Recently bought my first investment property, have finished the renovations & tenants have now moved in

I have a girlfriend who i have been with for about 2 and a half years & hopefully late this year i will buy another house & we will move in together!

Poker,

Currently playing NL BSS SH on pokerstars, NL25 zoom.

My uninspiring career so far:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Ill try and update regularly (no promises though due to working full time & other RL stuff) but whenever i can ill try to post something interesting :)

I don't want to bore everyone with a lengthy intro & my crappy writing skillz, so ill leave you with some aussie tunes and update soon!

haha thanks for the encouragement kyle.
Not sure about Wednesday night ATM,but definitely sweats Thursday.

Finished a short session, only up ~100BB but feel pretty good about my play.

Trying reeeeally hard to play low variance ABC& not spew too many stacks away..
Goal for the month to play 30k hands! (fairly difficult with work, but doable i think). Not focusing too much on volume though, quality poker>volume IMO.

Interesting line by villain playing zoom yesterday:

So now that zoom is up and running, i have decided to try and put in some decent volume playing NL10 zoom. For a few weeks at least whilee it is sooo soft, im assuming because loads of fish are trying it out because of all the action.
If it turns out to be fun and fairly profitable i may keep playing zoom exclusively.
if not i will just continue on NL10/NL16 SH.

Basically, my strategy is to play low variance, ABC poker. fairly tight/straightforward OOP, and aggro IP.
I dont think 3betting light or as a bluff is even necessary at these limits on zoom w/o reads, so for the time being i will continue TAG strategy.

If anyone has some thoughts on this id love to hear them :)

Today's graph from a short zoom sesion

not too many difficult spots and it seems really fun (at least while running well).

Not too happy with the way i played this hand, I think 3betting MP w/JJ is better here, because theres so many players to act & i want isolate PFR IP.
In saying that, i would have to play 3b/call against his stacksize

ok i only have time to tell ya nice start to this blog, im following!
and:
preflop: i dont mind the raise at all with the suited connex
flop: raise it bigger! at least AT LEAST!! $1 if not pot size...your going to get action with a flop like this most often..make them pay!!
turn: bet $2.5/$2.9..we dont want these jackasses getting good odds to call! and quite possibly your getting action from even hands like 67 of hearts, QKs, many monster draws this flop offers...plus how are you ever getting away from top 2 with that board texture? get the money in as fast as possible while the going is still good :)

river- not the best river we could have seen, but you kind of forced to shove with top 2, aint ya? nice hand

another note: i wonder how long villain plays these types of all ins on zoom before he has no $$ left lol. took me 2 bad all ins to realize i needed to change something. and it was both strong tptk type hands or better that i was entering all in with...

Hey, thanks for the advise :) i do need to work on my bet sizings a fair bit.
I have a habit of only betting ~2/3 pot, which i guess is fine HU on a dry board as it makes my bluffs cheaper. But this certainly isnt the spot for it. I like betting $1~$1.10 as you said & setting up stacks for the river. Also no need to balace against randoms on this limit.

Regarding villains spewing off stacks, im not sure how long until these zoom tables tighten up & get a bit tougher, so ill just make the most of it while its still juicy

agreed 100% man. get it while the going is good!! make hay while the sun shines :)

i feel theyre gonna tighten up as far as the all ins are concerned.. but starting hands wise fish are always going to get caught up with tpmk or tptk on a 3 flush board and they just dont know how to fold..not everyone thinks like us man, thats why we're here and theyre losing their money.

im in the process of importing hands to PT3 right now. will post some sick hands in my blog momentarily from tonights stellar 1/4 session.

Im trying reeeaaally hard not to neglect this blog just a week after starting it.
I have been really busy working 6 day weeks & using my day off to finish renovations @ my house.

In saying that, my lack of effort posting here & reviewing/posting hands in my downtime is reflected at the tables with pretty poor results. HM2 isnt importing hands so i need to sort that, because when i dont review recent sessions and really try to keep my head in the game i just start autopiloting and making simple errors. This is especially bad playing zoom as its sooo easy to lose focus.

As soon as i fix the problem with hm2 & have time to put in decent volume (for my standards) ill post some updates.

Lucky for me i doubt anyone is reading this, so at least im not letting anyone down :f_biggrin:

after HM2 not importing hands for a few days, i finally got around to updating to the beta version featuring zoom HUD & everything works really well!

The good news was that i could review the hands from the last few sessions, but the downside was seeing how poor my play has been in a lot of simple spots.

But now everything is working well im looking forward to some g00t results!

Ill post a graph tomorrow when my internet not lagging so much.

not a lot of interesting/difficult spots but a few wtf hands:

Hurt my back at work today, and had to leave early. So instead of resting i sat in my uncomfortable chair played around 1.5k hands. feel ok about most situations i got myself into.
There wasa patch in the middle where i was autopiloting a bit, & it shows in the redline of my graph:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

some hands:

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (BTN): $13.03 (130.3 bb)
SB: $24.26 (242.6 bb)
BB: $14.89 (148.9 bb)
UTG: $15.47 (154.7 bb)
MP: $21.85 (218.5 bb)
CO: $33.80 (338 bb)

SB is 42/38/14.3 3b/25hands
BB is 34/28 fish 81 hands

Not sure if i like my preflop play, i think SB has a ton of junk in his 3b range & BB also has fairly wide range. I didnt want to isolate myself against SB value range, and i have the BU so i decided to flat.

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A♥ K♣
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB raises to $0.80, BB calls $0.70, Hero calls $0.55

I doubt SB is cbetting the flop often without Ax, also heseems fairly aggro so i didnt have a problem letting him barrell turn. if BB called i think i would just raise it for value.

Flop: ($2.40) 3♠ A♦ 9♠ (3 players)
SB bets $1.40, BB folds, Hero calls $1.40

I think turn is fairly standard, probably should of jammed for max value though.

Turn: ($5.20) T♣ (2 players)
SB bets $2.40, Hero raises to $7.20, SB calls $4.80

river obv standard

River: ($19.60) 3♣ (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.63, SB calls $3.63

Spoiler

Results: $26.86 pot ($1.21 rake)

MP: $10 (100 bb)
CO: $9.01 (90.1 bb)

SB unknown.
I think this hand plays out standard,
im 57% against BB range of: 88,55,86,65,97,87 which i think is realistic, so im happy with my play.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6♠ 6♥

This was a bit of a tough spot, and i wasnt too happy getting it in against someone with such low 3b %, but it was BvB and i didnt like calling the 3b OOP so decided to go with it.
Probably the best hand i could run into

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q♦ Q♠

Hurt my back at work today, and had to leave early. So instead of resting i sat in my uncomfortable chair played around 1.5k hands. feel ok about most situations i got myself into.
There wasa patch in the middle where i was autopiloting a bit, & it shows in the redline of my graph:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

some hands:

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

Hero (BTN): $13.03 (130.3 bb)
SB: $24.26 (242.6 bb)
BB: $14.89 (148.9 bb)
UTG: $15.47 (154.7 bb)
MP: $21.85 (218.5 bb)
CO: $33.80 (338 bb)

SB is 42/38/14.3 3b/25hands
BB is 34/28 fish 81 hands

Not sure if i like my preflop play, i think SB has a ton of junk in his 3b range & BB also has fairly wide range. I didnt want to isolate myself against SB value range, and i have the BU so i decided to flat.

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A♥ K♣
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB raises to $0.80, BB calls $0.70, Hero calls $0.55

I doubt SB is cbetting the flop often without Ax, also heseems fairly aggro so i didnt have a problem letting him barrell turn. if BB called i think i would just raise it for value.

Flop: ($2.40) 3♠ A♦ 9♠ (3 players)
SB bets $1.40, BB folds, Hero calls $1.40

I think turn is fairly standard, probably should of jammed for max value though.

Turn: ($5.20) T♣ (2 players)
SB bets $2.40, Hero raises to $7.20, SB calls $4.80

river obv standard

River: ($19.60) 3♣ (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.63, SB calls $3.63

Results: $26.86 pot ($1.21 rake)
Final Board: 3♠ A♦ 9♠ T♣ 3♣

I think this hand plays out standard,
im 57% against BB range of: 88,55,86,65,97,87 which i think is realistic, so im happy with my play.

hate my betsizings in this hand, should of just 3/4 bet turn/shoved river i think. dont think BU ever has bigger flush, esp after flatting turn, so probably should of shoved river anyway because he would fold everything except a flush.

lol'd at this hand, i completely missed villains stacksize, just looked at his 3b from BB which was 13% over ~300 hands so decided to 4b bluff.
when i looked back at the table i thought wtf thats a small 5b.

But i only needed 19% to call & against AA,KK,QQ,JJ,TT,AKs,AQs,AKo i was 42%.
i just wish it was on a normal table so i could hear his rant in the chatbox afterwards.

Had today off work, so put in 1k hands this morning.
Overall session wasn't too badly played on my part except for a few key hands where i really screwed up.

I hope by posting these hands ill embarrass myself enough to stop doing it X(

This hand really tilted me,not because of my opponents hand or anything like that. i just couldn't believe i called river.
I think pre is fine, only 25 hands but hes 3betting 15.4%, he could also be doing it because im usually iso raising wide.

flop seems fine. I think folding turn is best, but wtf was i thinking OTR :f_mad:
