Interesting hand (ATs from last page). I probably just shove; shortstack isn't THAT short and really the bubble factor 3-handed is pretty insignificant.

@ged, bubble factors still exist, but they are less than on the actual bubble but not 'insignificant' .
our risk premium is around 15% against teh BS. so significantly lower than it would be compared to calling the BS on the bub, but still causing us to adjust our range a lot compared to cEV.
and because BS is a reg he knows he has to be risk-averse here too.
So November was an interesting month with a huge swing. I went from up to down quite fast but that's part of the game. Overall I felt I was playing quite well, but obv there were some days at the end where it was very hard to keep focussed on the game.
I also figured out that I sometimes relate my playing well too much to being up or down and sometimes I'm thinking about being up or down during my set (I only check my results at the end of the day tho). Which is obv not good so I started reading the book "The Poker Mindset" which will hopefully help me to tackle this problem.
Another interesting thing is that I won a contest on CR, the price is a coaching session with Collin Moshman (I didn't even know I was participating in the contest tbh). So that will probably be interesting

My goals for December are:
- Playing 1.8K SNG's
- Keep IronMan status (which should be a bit easier with the recent changes)
- Earn at least 100 IronMan plus medals
- Finally get my BC
- Spend at least 10% of my total time on studying
- Earn at least 50k FT points (which correlates with goal 1 and 4 of course)
Had my free coaching session with Collin Moshman on wednesday. He also told me my game was quite good, the only things he mentioned were some postflop spots that I could have played differently.
I also played a pretty weird hand today and made the mistake of not looking at the chipstacks and I was punished hard for it (Shortstack was Hlynkinn):

Hm I see now that there is an error in the hand, as the SB was eliminated so, effectively I was the SB. Which doesn't make the shove good of course, but I don't agree that his call is worse tho, he has me covered and I need to be shoving less than 4% to make it a bad call (I wouldn't even shove 4% here but I can imagine that he thinks I do).
Pretty solid day today with +23BI. At first I was 16tabling because I didn't have so much time (later it turned out I had more time), but anyway that was a bit too much for me. I could keep up but it's probably not so good for my game because I couldn't really take enough notes and some decisions were a bit rushed so for now I'm going to stick with 9/10 tabling.
It's going up and down a bit this month, but I'm at 5% over 700 games so far so that's decent. My plan was to play 100 games a day since I have christmas break but that seems a bit too much. At the moment I'm playing like 70-80 a day which is still decent but it probably means I'm not going to reach my target of 1.8k games. I have even more free time in January tho, so maybe I can get to 1.8k then.
As for my goals, I became blackcard member in the beginning of december so that one is out of the way. Studying could be a bit better, but is still around 5% of my total time spend on poker. I will probably get to IronMan too, thank god for the new structure of 500 points a day for 20 days.
It should be doable to reach my goal of 50k FT points, I'm at 20k atm, so I need about 750 more games.
Anyway, today was a really strange day, the whole time I felt like I was down a lot but at the end of the day it turned out I was up. I really need to get that kind of thinking out of my system though, as it causes unnecessary stress and it's not good for my poker mindset.

December and the year 2010 are over for me when it comes to poker. For now just a small recap of december, and later on I will look back on the whole year.
Just like november, december started very well. (something like 16% over the first 400 games). And just like november, a downswing followed. Luckily not such a big one as last time (just 40BI). After that I ran BE for about 700 games which resulted in a 2.8% ROI and a 5.3% adjusted ROI. But I'm happy with my progress and my study time. I usually do a review session, at least once a week, with a fellow reg at the $24's. Some of you might know him, he plays under the S/N Puckertoot.
Some good news is that I started to mix in some $36's in the last couple of days which has gone pretty good so far. It amazed me that the level of play is about the same, and sometimes a lot worse. Ok, most of the regs adjust a bit better but some of the fish are shockingly bad.
Anyway, here is the graph of December:

Review of my December goals:

Overall I'm pretty happy with the level of achievement of my goals, but volume should have been better. Maybe I underestimated the time, holidays take a bit, which is fine obv

at least if you table select I feel like you can get a lot of easier games on the $36's running... But most of the fearsome regs on the $24's also play the $36's so if your not table selecting $36's are a bit tougher... but around the same...

Yeah I agree with you, and I always tableselect (sometimes ninja fucks with me tho, when I have ninja sensei on it autoregs in a game with 3+ regs and it starts before I can unreg.)

So, it's time for the 2010 review.
January was a mixed month for me, because I didn't get a contract renewal at my job because of economical reasons (I did my thesis at this company and worked there for about 4 months before this happened). So I didn't really know what to do, at first I searched for a new job obv. In the meanwhile I was playing at the $12's on FT. I played about 500 games that month with a profit of $150, so not that exciting.
Then came February, and I could play more because I had more time, due to the above mentioned fact. I played almost 1.1k SNG's for a profit of approx 1.1k, resulting in a 8.6% ROI.
So then March came, I started to mix in some $24's which didn't go all too well. I played 750 $24's with a loss of approx $250 and 550 $12's with about $100 in losses. This was also the month where I made a decision about what to do with my life for the coming years at least. I decided to go for my Masters degree, as I wasn't really able to find a job and didn't mind studying for a few more years.
In April I admitted for the IT University in Copenhagen, but I had to wait 1.5 months before I got the news I was accepted. Pokerwise I didn't play so much, can't really remember why tho. I played 500 $12's with a decent 5.0% ROI and played less than a hundred $24's, which was still not a success.
In May I focussed on the $12's to improve my game and to get my confidence back for the $24's, played 1.1k for about 4.3%.
In June I thought I was ready for the $24's again but ran at -2% over 600 games, combined with some $12's this was a BE month.
July was the first month I made a profit with just playing $24's, about 2.5% over 850 games. In August I didn't play a lot and was struggling to get at least bronze status at IronMan. I played a meager 300 games with negative ROI of 3.8%.
At this time I started my first month of university and I decided to try and support myself with poker, which was kind of a risk of course but I wanted to give it a go anyway. However, I went back to the $12's again to build my confidence up yet again. So in september I played about 450 $12's for a staggering 18.7% ROI, I also played about 150 $24's which cut my profits in half since, once again, it didn't go too well.
Then October came along and I decided that if I really wanted to get better I needed to study more on my game. This month was again a mixture of $12's and $24's, but this time I actually made a little profit at the $24's over 650 games with about 1% ROI. I also played 650 $12's with a 10% ROI. I noticed that I was really improving. This was also the month where I was introduced to lessonthree, and I got some coaching from him at this time. All this combined my confidence was high.
November came along, which was by far the most soul crushing month I ever had in my poker career so far. Over the first 450 games I was running like god and I felt like I owned the place, obv this wasn't the case and this hunted me for the rest of the month. I had to endure a 80BI downswing for about 450 games. I climbed out of it a bit in the last 100 games, which resulted in a BE month. However, this was also the month I met a fellow reg, whom I mentioned before. Like me, Puckertoot, was looking for someone to review his games with, so we started doing this on a weekly basis which made me improve quite a bit. At the end of this month I also had another coaching session with Lessonthree to check my game and built my confidence. He ensured me my game looked good but had some minor points to improve.
December started the same as November did, with a huge upswing and a little downer after that. I already mentioned the rest in my december review post so not going over that again.

Overall I'm happy but it could have been a lot better obv, so I just need to study like I did in the last months and hopefully grind out a little more in 2011.

Haven't played so much yet this month, but planning to play a lot more after saturday. I have an oral exam for my studies at saturday evening, so need to focus a bit on that.
So far, couple of BIs down on the 24s and about BE at the $36s. Obv EV is at 13.5% but it's a bit meaningless after 140 games. I still think that the $36s are not that much harder and it's nice to load my games faster when I combine both BI's.
