If I'd known a 'love train' was in the offing I would have made sure I was unavailable to attend ?(

Lolz..

So I have been reading the book of Jared a bit more, and I like it quite a bit. I have already filled a questionnaire from his book, and it really gets you thinking as to why you are tilting. I have also been doing some warming up before I begin, along with a small breathing exercise to ease my mind.

I have also noticed that my focus slips to B-game quite quick, so I have been keeping an eye on that.

At the moment I'm doing good so my mindset has yet to be put to a serious test but I feel I'm making some progress.

I especially like his comparison of training actual muscles to training your mental muscle, it helps me a lot to understand how the brain works.

Anyway, enough idolizing of the book, good night!

Today was one of those days where everything went wrong. The first session my mental game was quite a bit off so I decided to do some reviewing in between sessions (I normally do all my reviewing the next day before I start). The two sessions after that where considerably better mindset wise. The stuff in Jared's book is definitely helping, but I'm no where near a level to be proud of yet.

I did start to write a journal today, in which I write what went wrong, how I felt, what I did to solve it etc. In the long run this should be a very valuable tool. I used to make notes during the session already, about how I played etc, but I'm not really reading it because it's in different notepad files etc. But I plan to read my journal from the previous day, and see what I should improve and base my goals on that.

One positive note tho, I finally managed to become GrandMaster at Betfair today, so let the RB $$ flow into my account

Ty Ty, always appreciated ;)

Today things were back to normal, I played decent, not my absolute A+ game, but definitely B+. This month made me realize, what I did wrong in the last months. Obviously I was going for massive volume there, but my line of thinking was way too tight on and around the bubble, and I can't believe I didn't discover it earlier. It was actually a courtesy of a fellow reg that I spoke to on Skype who pointed it out in general terms, but that was definitely a click moment where I thought "omfg, I'm such a fish, how could I have not thought about that earlier"

I'm a being vague? Yes probably, but some fellow regs are reading my blog frequently so I'm not going into details.

As for the mindset, I wrote a journal again today, but it is a bit short this time. I think I'm also going to use it to keep track of some of my trouble hands.

Btw, I have been thinking about improving my postflop play and hand reading skills a bit, and I thought it might be a good idea to watch the video "Let there be range" for this. But I'm not sure if my fishy, typical SNG postflop skills are sufficient for it, or if I should watch another CG vid first.

(if any cashgamers read this blog, yes I would also like your advice on this)

I found watching SnG HU videos improved my postflop play and hand reading skills quite a bit. Definitely worth the time if you havent done so already :f_biggrin:

Ty! And thnx for the confidence talk @ Skype, Captain Kurk!

So yesterday I finally managed to pull two 3 hour sessions again. The last few days have been very swingy and once again my mindset was not coping well yet, and I hate it when that happens. However, yesterday I was very focused and even began to see some postflop spots where I could pwn, I also marked a lot of hands to further investigate, so frequent HH evaluation readers, be ready for a flood of hands :f_biggrin:

I also decided that I'm not going to care anymore about my results for the rest of the month, I got too obsessed with them once again. This week, so from Friday until Thursday, I'm going to try and play high volume while trying to retain my quality of play and mindset that I had yesterday. I will most likely be 6-tabling for ultimate focus, so I will need some extra time to reach sufficient volume.

A big motivator for this is once again the Natural Born Grinders promo at Betfair, today the second to last week started and I need to accumulate some points for the Master LB. If I can somehow pull off two top 10 weeks, I will be almost certain of $1250 to $2k extra.

Oh, and whoever thought it was funny to show up under a different nick and call me by my surname, report pls :f_biggrin: (there are only a few suspects that know both my screen name and my surname)

Over and out!

Little update. I have been like a madman for the last few days, I want to get in a good week at the Natural Born Grinders promo for some extra cash (I think I already mentioned it before). I'm doing three sessions of 3 hours each every day, obv not sustainable but for one week it's ok.

I have no clue how much I'm up or down (I suspect up) because I haven't checked the cashier for days and I don't plan to check it either, until the end of the month is there.

Today it didn't go so well, especially in the 33s, I walked into premiums a gazillion times bit what can you do right? Mindset was ok tho, so that is definitely improving. I do have the occasional brain freeze where I don't go through a thorough thought process and just think like a fish. One prime example of this, is this hand: (I wanted to punch myself in the face for both the line I took and the call I made, I basically threw away $70 here)

Ongame Network NL Hold'em Turbo No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t75/t150 Blinds - 2 players - View hand 1607998

I'm having a little poker break at the moment. The last week has been very rough and my play has been greatly affected by it. I realize I have a lot of work to do postflop and that my postflop aggression is way to low. So I'm going to have some review sessions with Kurkkabin and I'm going to get some coaching.

I'm also going to try and organize my poker knowledge somehow, I want to have a view on what I have learned, what I still need to master etc. I think this will be good a good reflection and motivation document.

I have a bit of a problem, I have a coaching session tomorrow, but I can only pay with paypal. I do have paypal but the account is in EUR, so I'm seeking for someone that has both a moneybookers and a paypal account in USD. So if you anyone has this or knows anyone thrustworthy with both e-wallets in USD, let me know in this topic. I would be very thankful if someone can help me with it.
