Hand 01:

Ill post hands with my thought process here. I hope in the future to better explain my thoughts in poker terms. So that they are more comprehensive.
In addition, any reviews from other forum members would always be greatly appreciated.

I did a 3bet here to protect any blind stealing and get EV for my hand.
The 3bet on the river from villain made me very suspicious that he hit his straight. (I hear too often that there is little to no bluffing on NL2.)

I am raising preflop for value.
Maybe the Cbet on the flop should have been a check or a bigger raise (66%)? Not sure about that and to know I am sure..
The check on the turn from villain I don't get. Is he affraid for my J and would be only calling? I think so.
The river I should had check/fold. I should have known he had hit something with the call on the flop.

Did you mean raise on the flop?
If so, I agree with the fold.

Hand 1 - Very situational based on opponent. Sure, he could have JT, 2 pair or a set of 9's or 8's, or he could have a pair and straight draw. I like your flop bet, and your fold.

Hand 2 - I like your pre-flop play and flop bet, but after you check the turn, what are you representing on the river? You'll be called by hands that beat you, and worse hands will fold. I think I would check-call a smallish bet as a bluff-catcher.

Hand 3 - The only hands you're worried about here are K4, 44, 22 and the flush draws. (If he had KK, he likely would have re-raised you pre-flop). Your hand blocks some of the K4 hands and makes the 22 very unlikely. Well-played.

Today, was a good day. I started watching a few YouTube videos about Poker math.

and

I enjoyed watching them and did a few calculations myself. The first steps in understanding poker odds have been taken.

Today I had a session of 383 hands, that went okay. The first buy-in I lost because I was not paying attention.. uggghhh Reminder.. completely focus before you start Denny :f_mad::f_mad: I ended the session positive and came back to 23bb/100

I tried a new pre-flop chart that I enjoyed today. The bluf part I skip on these stakes. Gonna try them for a few weeks.

Going to post a few hands tomorrow of the session today. First I want to do some calculation

We have two cats.
The one you see on my shoulder used to ride around up there a lot. Now that he is much larger, he doesn't balance as well, so he rarely sits up there any more.

You'll find the spot to change your signature near the bottom.

Wednesday.. my day off. Had a semi-good day. Started with some poker study, most time went into calculating pot odds.

I received a free 5 dollar ticket from PartyPoker for a spin and go. I won it an received 10 dollar

After a session of 1.30 hour, I was up 1 buy-in in 212 hands. I felt good and was pretty confident. I played my hands good.
Before diner, I did another session. It was an average session of 2 hours.

Lost a big stack of 170bb ... KK vs 1010 fishies huh

The thing is I should stop earlier, I got fed up my a personal thing my girlfriend told me. At that point, I should have stopped. I ended up losing 2 buy-ins.

• Going to set a timer of 90 min sessions. After that taking a small break of 10 min. I find that I lose too much concentration after 90 minutes of play.
• Stop when I fed UP The biggest villain on the table is yourself!!!!!

Last week was a pretty busy week. I have surgery coming up for my knee, so I had to do chores around the house because I have to be in bed or on the couch for 6 weeks from the doctor.

The focus on poker was mainly studying. I posted a lot of replies on the hand discussion forum, most of the time it is not a complete and good answer from a beginner but it helps a lot. Decomposing the poker hands helps me, because I start recognizing my flaws on the tables. Last week I played around 2300 hands, with 2 bad beats (AA vs. TT and KK vs QQ) my only big losses are ignoring the fold button.

The second hand I had called because I was playing my B/C game. It was late, had played for 2 hours and was therefore not sharp. I think I set a 90 minute timer to take a 10 minute break to get some exercise and clear my head. Unless there are more than two fish/maniacs at the table of course

For me it means finding that fold button a bit more often and I have to start having shorter sessions.

I'm also going to post my progress every week from now on.

Study Week 7

I have a little more time now so I will update my post for what I have done with study.

Already told that I try to decompose the hands here on the forum.
This week I started using the FreeBetRange site with the ranges from @monteCarlol. For me it's very helpful in these stages. I noticed that I missed a few ranges before, so actually, I am playing more hands using these charts.

I finished the Daniel Negraeu Teaches Poker masterclass course. There are a few very useful tips in this course and recommended every starter to see this.

Next to that I watch YouTube and Twitch. I follow ValueHeavy and Easty222 those guys are amazing! They are very educational and explain what they are doing. I can really recommend them!

Next week study:

• More hand decomposing here on the forum (To be more self-aware while playing my hands.)
• YouTube and Twitch (How to play hands to correct way)
• Specific learning about Equity / Pot odds

Good luck with the knee surgery. From experience I can say that it sucks to be stuck sitting with your leg in the air for weeks, so hopefully it is worth it. But at least you can play poker

And exactly I can study and play a lot of poker. Maybe its time to make profit rather than playing break even

I do found a good way to stay fit during poker.. Every punt/bad play I have to do 10 push-ups.. This week the counter is on 50 push-ups

Last week was an okay week.. Didn't play much poker or did any study. Down almost 1.5bb, played pretty good but run against a few bad beats AA vs JJ, KK vs 67s. Happens

Next week I have surgery and am focussing on that, did a lot of chores around the house. This weekend gonna spend some time outside with my girlfriend to have some quality time. After the surgery gonna take a little rest and after that, I have 24/7 time for poker. The next update will be probably in about 1,5 weeks.

My last post was a while ago and a lot has happened in the meantime. As I indicated in my previous post, I didn't play much poker before the surgery. I couldn't get the concentration up.

Last Wednesday I had surgery on my meniscus. I was supposed to get an epidural and watch the operation, but I wasn't allowed to leave until 8 hours later. The effects of the puncture take quite a long time, so I opted for anesthesia.

My meniscus would be stitched, but unfortunately, it was too much damaged than the MRI showed so they removed a piece of meniscus. I now have a short recovery period but it is not as good for the long term. You miss a piece of protection.

As for poker. I had gone to play poker the day after the operation, I shouldn't have. I wasn't concentrating well. As a result, I started badly with a loss of almost 2 buy-ins. Because of this, I decided to study, enjoy reading, and watching videos. I bought the A♠: BTS SCRIMITZU MICROSTAKES SYSTEM A♠: on the recommendation and I like it.

From the operation until today I played 10 sessions which come out to about 17 hours of poker. This has resulted in a +1000BB profit over 3143 hands this comes down to 30.62/100BB profit, this is extremely good for me :f_cool::f_cool:. I am playing very focused and playing my hands a lot better.

I have been helped by @AgapieGheorghe with his explanation of HUD stats, >>Link<< This is definitely worth reading! Because of him I also expanded my HUD stats, I'm going to try to apply it this week.

Also, @AgapieGheorghe went through my PT4 database and gave me feedback. Thanks again for that. I will be working on this as well this week.

Bankroll: $80.18 I added 30 euro (USD 34.56) to my bankroll, I won 30 euro in a live poker night at my house.
