Cool, I have more readers and replies, it feels good. ♠_cool:
I played a wild two part session today, one hour before work, and 2 hours after.
The first hour I didn't pay much attention to table selection and found myself two to the right of a classic maniac. After being 3bet all in the second hand in a row I called with 55 and lost to AKs to double him to 20$. My mind said leave, but I was stubborn and stayed and I ended up losing a whole stack to him. I thought I could beat him even out of position, but luck wasn't with me.
I thought I won when I flopped two pair, but he rivers a flush draw taking more of my money. Then the seat to his left opens up, I quickly get up and sit down there with position.
First hand. Three limpers including the maniac, I'm in the BB with 66 and raise. All folds to the maniac who pushes his full stack. I insta call, he has 85o and.. ♠_frown: 8 on the turn. no 6. He immediately left, but I got his number.
I was down almost 3 stacks at one point and came back a little at a time, then after work played an insane session.
I ran into several maniacs and weird short stacks mostly getting the better of them. Some hands were interesting, others I was extremely lucky.
I rivered a boat with 22 against a turned straight for a stack.
I flopped a set of 8's after calling a 3bet on the BU against QQ in the BB for a stack.
I bet mercilessly, second and third barreled some pots. with mid pairs (not always but mostly successfully)
I had some hands I was really happy, and surprised with.

Last session I had my highest stack yet, 75$ and played deep against two other 200BB players for a while. I also overcame some serious swings this weekend, I even thought I was having a losing weekend until I checked my graph and BR at the end and it was up. I'm itching to take shots at NL50 already...5k more hands might do it.

p.s. I watched this show 2 months 2 million dollars, about 4 poker geeks who play high stakes online. They go to vegas get a nice mansion with a pool, a chef and a personal assistant.
The first couple of episodes are kind of funny, the poker isn't really the focus, more their life and reactions. It's very tv, but still good to watch. Some freeze frames will show you the stats they have on some other well known hi stakes players and it's interesting to see how they react to having a -15k day. Watch at your own risk.
5 hours played today, I started out down 1.5BI slow leaking in NL25 SH, and really not much in the way of luck, combined with some optimistic calls that didn't work out. Still I perservered and came back to even and a bit, a solid upswing and a +ve day. I decided to take a shot at NL50 SH since I felt strong and I would only play one table, stop loss 2BI.
I quickly won 1/2 buy-in, but lost it just as quickly. There was a lot of 3betting on my table, and the 2$ raise seemed big of course by comparison to NL25. 3-betting to 7$ oop with ATo took some more nerve but steals were rampant and easy enough to fend off.
I started out a tight style for the first few rounds until I had some image to 3bet and steal some blinds. Someone open raised every round and there was a lot of action I stayed away from but watched carefully.

First pot over $100 - even though I prob overbet my flop raise. After that I played a few rounds with some confidence and maintained it - then left. I learned a bit from NL50, mainly that it's a bit tighter, but not much, and only the $$ amounts need getting used to.
NL25 might seem a bit easier after this.
U better than anyone knows how u play. To me it seems that u are LAGish, as u seem to cbet a lot and some 2nd barreling cause Your aggression is high which is very good IOM. Could u put a graph with showdown and non showdown winnings also? They are very good to see your type of play. Definitely not a fish. More like a Shark with that winrate ;-)

Lately more LAGish, but I'm sure I still have some fish in me. I took a look at my stats filtered for when I didn't call on the river. I also filtered for when I bet on the river. Guess what?
Betting the river is very profitable (value betting at least)
Calling any river bet is very unprofitable (at least up to NL25)
SH (NL10, 25, and 100 hands of NL50) second graph is without calling on the river.
Looks like a big leak, and I admit I call second best hand much too often. My red line goes down when I'm winning, so it looks like my losses are biggest on the river calls. About -$150 calling a river bet with one pair. (probably top pair)
Another 40$ calling with a full house (3x against quads 4x vs higher full house) Other situations look decent.
Obviously I need to stop calling TP hands to river bets. Even though I only did 41 times, at -1200BB/100 hands it can't be justified.
not a bad day overall. I broke my rule of not calling top pair on the river a few times, and it only worked out once or twice. A couple of times I called high cards or something else when I was sure, but I still called sometimes when I was beat. Not as bad as before, but now I've started bet/folding the river occasionally, and bet/3betting other times (If I'm lucky) and just checking down some obvious losing hands, not bothering to bluff the calling stations anymore.
I played 1k hands (4 tables) first time at NL25 SH. I'm using stars AHK scripts that have already saved me a few big hands during computer freezups. I also took another shot at NL50, but my table selection was bad, so was my timing, and the river cards were the worst ever. I ended up looking too weak and left down a stack..
Never mind, I've got a great run at NL25, and the experience at higher limit made me more aware of the difference in my play. I ended up 5 stacks on NL25, a 25ptBB/100 upswing, not bad result at all.
I think I'll play out another 5k-10k hands, if things go the same I'll turn my shots into regular NL50. Not just yet.

I opened a lot of new tables and felt really good most times at HU until the tables filled with either lots of shortstacks (who I delay contibet when I hit a lot, because they love to bluff all in) or some really loose aggressive players that I was able to stack again and again.
Sometimes I really pissed people off, floping the nuts and betting out like I'm bluffing or weak, coming over the top on the turn or river. I must have flopped trips at least 5 times for big pots. One poor guy got it twice in a row. The first time I really put him on AQ.

"This incredible wall of shimmering silver fish was captured by stunned divers who had been exploring a reef in the Philippines.
The spectacle is known as the 'sardine run', and occurs in the region every July.
The vast shoal, which measured around 50ft wide, 50ft deep and 400ft long, was spotted off the coast of Pescador Island.
The divers described its presence like a cloud as it swarmed around them, whipping up the water like a tornado before shooting off on their way.
This photograph was snapped by American diver Erwin Poliakoff, who was on holiday with his wife and teenage son at the time.
Mr Poliakoff, 54, said: 'We were diving on the reef, quite happily looking around at all the interesting fish, when suddenly everything went dark.
'It was like a cloud had fallen over us - at first I thought it was the sun going in.
'But within seconds I realised it was this huge mass of sardines swirling around us.
'They look like an impenetrable wall, but you could actually immerse inside the coil while they whirled around you.
'It was absolutely incredible, I've never seen anything like it.
'It was like a silver, shimmering cloud. Very disorientating to be inside - almost like having vertigo.
'I have been diving for years and seen many shoals of fish, but everything else pales in comparison.
'Given they are sardines and have a reputation of being closely packed, there would probably be around ten per cubic foot.
'By my reckoning, there would have been tens of millions of fish there. It's mind blowing, really.
'I have no idea why they swim in that formation. It must be to protect against predators and stop individuals getting picked off, but to me they just look like a giant bullseye.'
Alex Gerard, curator at Brighton Sealife Centre, said: 'The sardine run is all to do with breeding - the fish migrate to a better breeding ground with more food such as plankton.
'The odd thing is that they travel together for protection but the size of the run actually means they get decimated by predators.
'It creates a huge melting pot of dolphins, sharks, whales and seabirds all waiting to pick them off.
'In the Philippines it usually happens in July. It is not that common to see huge shoals over there, so this diver was very lucky to catch it.'

My positional stats surprised me, no red in the blinds. Also notice how my aggression factor goes up as the hand goes on in the SB, or BB but not in other positions (especially MP2). I like that I'm doing so well playing out of position so far. I think I might benefit if I balance my aggression a bit with good hands from EP.
♦ I made my goal for playing 3 hours a day of NL25 and even some tourneys.
♦ I had a series of winning sessions the biggest was $130 and only 2 losing sessions out of 15 days (2$, and 13$)
♦ I came 3rd in a 5$ tourney 360players and am now rolled for 10$ tourneys.
♦ I read some poker books, Miller/Sklansky No Limit Theory, Helmuth's book, and some articles, blogs and hand postings.
♦ I kept silverstar status and am halfway to my $100 bonus.
♦ I moved down to NL10 for a few hundred hands after losing some big hands to tweak my game - figure I didn't lose as nearly as much that way.
Investing that $200 has already returned $800 or more, and I haven't yet spent my points for more T$. I figure the points are worth $22 to $99 T$, which could possibly grow to ??

I just installed bet-pot AHK script, I like the pot size raise, and bet sizes on the turn and river that it has as default. you can alter it slightly after you right click.

Been a few days since updating - that usually means I'm on a downswing or just level for a while.
I'm actually on a 3 day downswing for September, each time losing about 1BI, but not playing my A game all the time.
I have been ok with it, I haven't tilted when sucked out on, or meeting coolers. I haven't been staying on tables too long, and more importantly I've learned to leave ego out of it. Just because you were outplayed, sucked out on, or whatever, in no way should it change your play - only how you adjust to your opponent.
I've been playing a higher variance style, about 24/20/2.5 and some of the variance is catching up. Due to my aggression and good reads I'm making semi-bluff, value bets and 2-3 barrel bluffs occasionally. I caught myself a couple of times bluffing fish/maniacs and calling down with AK only (1/2 it was good)
I contibet less often, and occasionally slowplay to balance it. Still, I should expect to get beat often enough, and I know my play is solid.. the last table I left I was sitting for over 150hands with almost 4 stacks.
I'll post some hands, I know I made some awful calls and probably played some weak hands, I got bluffed a few times surely and started playing smaller pots because of it.
Another mistake I'm making is cold calling the button with Axo or broadway offsuit cards instead of isolating. Still, I haven't been trapped lately by someone limping AA or KK. I figure some hands are better to try and play multiway against some opponents, but offsuit connectors and Axo aren't usually a good choice. I did have a huge hand with 94s that i completed in the SB for a 3way pot. It was a gamble, but I knew the BU limper had nothing, and the BB would certainly call.
Actually, yesterday wasn't so bad, 1k hands and only 20$down. It could have been much worse.

Just played a short session of NL25 SH and it went ok, I ran into trips on the flop at least twice (that I know of) but played a bit tighter, picked spots better and sucked out huge to hit runner runner full house with AJs against flopped trips, AJ flop ATQ with 2 of my suit, turn A, river J. Variance is a bitch 
200 hands, up 7.7ptBB/100 not too bad. That's at least a beer with a tip - although the Canadian dollar is going up again. Figure we could see par by end of year with the US, that's about a 10% hit to the BR.
Update: got in another 100hands waiting for my gf. Up 1 stack for the day, or 17ptBB/100 either way I'm happy how i played, I even lost a stack just now pf all in with AA vs his KK hitting K on the flop.. first time in ages. A few hands later I stacked another opponent at the same table hitting two pair on the flop with AJs (today's lucky hand) AJx, he has A3o - funny thing was I made a mistake and didn't squeeze preflop.
No poker for the last few days - but I come back to silver thanks to moneybookers/pokerstrategy promotion.
My BR is very healthy and I'm getting ready to move up to NL50 SH. Good timing to work on my game, watch a lot of videos, reread the silver articles and post some difficult hands in the forum.
I want to do at least two hours study for every hour of poker in the next few days.
I had a dream this morning that I came 3rd in an online tourney for $16000 - really strange, but nice dream. I hope it comes true. I figure I'll need to enter a 200k prize pool to do that, so it might be a while.

I watched a few videos today, also reread a couple of articles...only about 3 hours. I decided to get back in practice after a few days off. I felt refreshed, and not worried about my recent leveling for a few thousand hands.
Started out at a 4handed table, money on my right and shortstacks on my left. I played about 100 hands and ended up 10$, then joined another table. This one was 3 handed (including me) and i took good advantage, being my usual aggressive.
I ended up +1BI for the 186hands, 2 hours and a blistering 30ptBB/100 .. I'll take that.
If you can believe, this was the biggest pot..

I just busted out of a 3250 field 2$ tourney in 3rd place. It wasn't $16000, but I'll gladly take the $456.00 prize money. I was last much of the final two tables so I'm really happy with the result even if I didn't win.. The dream thing is just weird.

So maybe having a poker dream come true isn't that fantastic, but I am now playing NL50 SH thanks to the BR boost.
I played down for the first few hundred hands, almost 2 stacks, but started to come back. I hit some real bad luck and didn't protect the turn, letting 2 and 3 outers hit! TT hits quads on the river or QJs hits a backdoor flush when I have TPTK.
My luck did turn and I won back 4 stacks, I also took a shot at NL100 SH! Really, just a few rounds to give some perspective on NL50. If I am money scared at NL100, then NL50 doesn't seem so bad. I won 20$ at NL100, and found it kind of easier.. maybe just my table, or that I was on a heater.
I'm up over 2 stacks of NL50 for the day not bad. A very profitable weekend, over $550 in winnings so far. Only a few points to go for a $100 bonus, and thinking I might have to make another deposit to get another couple of hundred.
NL50 is huge for me, I can almost make a decent wage if I can beat it. So far it's more aggressive but it's not hard to adjust. I am floating and check raising more flops, and taking some good lines against the fish.
This hand is against a good TAG after about 100 hands of the session.

I also recently had a long streak of villains catching outs, but was convinced it would even out eventually. Giving up with a made hand when I'm beat is still hard, but I'm improving.
I think yesterday was a lot of variance - I hit my boat twice to suck out on a straight or flush after I shoved and was behind.
So long as you are making the correct decisions you have to be profitable in the long run. The variance simulator might give you some perspective - it shows you can run even/down for ages even with a decent 10bb/100 winrate.
I'm really happy about the turnaround in my redline play. I felt like I was playing my A++ game.
My poker attitude is really good lately, I consciously didn't tilt when I might have previously. I lost 2/4 AA hands - one for a stack against flopped trips. I think maybe you get even more respect after losing a really bad beat and you can keep raising/playing your normal aggressive style afterwards. Some players will relentlessly try to take advantage of your weakness if they see it.
I try not to be so active, more reactive. If I get outplayed, 3bet off hands too much, or generally having a bad time with a player or table I try not to let my ego dictate my play. I can tell I'm going to play bad and lose if I'm trying too hard.. If my forehead is tense, I try to listen, relax it and let go. You can't make the cards come a certain way, but you can certainly let them come your way and seize the opportunity when they do!
I'm playing tighter and more aggressive than on NL25, 22/18/3 WTSD 27 W$SD 60, 3bet 5% only. Contibets are down to 65%flop 45% turn, and my aggression pattern has changed so that I am more aggressive as the hand goes on. flop = 2.4, turn = 4, river = 5.4 What does this mean about my play? Is it the reason for my red line success? How do other players see me now?
Take a look at my OPR stats this year. For me, this is great vindication for pokerstrategy - big thanks to coaches grummeler, and tribuncaesar. I could win a tourney before, but I would never have stayed within BRM after and would have lost it all.. I'm also much more consistently placing ITM and running deep. Year over year this is a huge improvement.
Got busted out of a few tourneys but not for too much. Started playing cash at NL25 while I was playing the tourneys and made my buyins back plus...
then a session of NL50 I just got owned. I lost 2 stacks steadily I think - getting 3 bet relentlessly. At the time I was playing there were a few regs boosting the pots preflop multiway and forcing others out. I had a feeling that there was some possible collusion going on, but I could have adjusted and started 4betting.
I ran into some real nasty hands, and every AA was folded to - it seemed for a while that I was completely readable and I looked and my stats were all over the place. I was out of rhythm, and starting to tilt from all the crazy preflop, and post flop 3 betting.
I moved down to NL25 because I knew I was on tilt AND running very bad. I proceeded to lose at least 6 stacks more at NL25 - villains hitting every 3 and 2 outer possible on the rive it seemed.
I decided not to give in, but go back to NL50 - play my best basic game and just suck up the bad beats and make as few mistakes as possible. I also payed a LOT more attention to table selection and didn't join any tables with the regs from before.
So now I'm sitting at 2 tables of NL50 SH for a while:
I made back most of my tilt money, and learned a bit in the process. NL50 is not harder, but really pay attention to table selection - maybe don't play when it's all regs on monday night.

My stack came primarily from this villain in CO loose aggressive pre, passive post flop. I have to call this river don't I? Any Q but Q8, QQ, or Q5 I'm good, but why does he go all in for value?
He had KQo - I would at least have hoped it was AQs
.. ok I just got squeezed by some guy in BB who has KJo.. he hits his K and check calls TPnK all the way to the river 1/2 a stack.. my 2nd pair no good. Next I get sucked out twice on turn and miss some big value semibluffs for almost a stack... what a rollercoaster. Not giving up by any means.
Also, playing against short stacks on SH is crazy - they destroy set value and cause you to get squeezed when they just call in position. I'm just 4betting them with my pp to get it all in PF lately - maybe i shouldn't but hate giving up a PP to a shorty.
