[x] BOINK! DownhillUnder

SSS feels like the Scout: Hit & Run with little damage/risks

What's up! Exams are more or less done so I have more time to do Poker related things!

Yesterday Evening I hosted a SSS Bronze Public Private Coaching for the Dutch Community. For the first time I had to discuss theory and coach someone but I liked it :)

As for you, English readers and maybe attending Ingol's coaching: since Max will have a hangover due the Diamond Party next week on the 6th and 8th of February: I will be doing the English SSS bronze coaching on the 8th while Xarry2 does the Friday's coaching!

Poker related to SSS, the last 2 days were not my days in terms of Expected Value, Opponents and the cards :)
In 1.8k hands, I lost 9 stacks only due suckouts and stuff. If you look at the graph you see the EV line on -40bb.

Nevertheless I think I will manage to get beyond this and play my best. ofcourse I analyzed it and made 2 stupid mistakes where I didnt saw that I was 3way. The cardbacks were Green and I thought that was the best color to see in an instant how many players were still in the pot. However if you sweat one time with me, you see my HUD contains full of colours to distinguish statistics =)...
So what I did is changing the cardbacks on iPoker to PINK! yeeehaw matches my ScreenName more or less

Poker ain't a game for 100% winning chance unless you got a RoyalFlush/Quads but even then the chance of hitting that is <1% thus unlikely.

I will illustrate only 1 badbeat because this aint the thread for BBV and Im sure it is not of an importance to go into beats in detail. SSS is swingy yes and these are inevitable but +EV for us as long as they are calling.

$100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 10 players

Hero (UTG+2): $17.00
BB: $102.00

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is UTG+2 with A :club: A :spade:
2 folds, Hero raises to $3.50, 6 folds, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($7.50) 4  2 :club: 5 :spade: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks
*Fold to cbet = 73%, Bets against missed cbet on Turn 50% so getting more value!*

Turn: ($7.50) 5 :club: (2 players)
BB bets $3.75, Hero raises to $13.50, BB calls $9.75

River: ($34.50) 6 :club: (2 players)

Final Pot: $34.50
BB shows 3 :diamond: 3 :club:
BB wins $32.80

On the contrary, crazy All-in Tilting guys also play on my limit.. strange.

$100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players

Hero (SB): $19.00
UTG: $50.30
MP1: $49.38

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with Q :club: A :club:
UTG calls $1, 1 fold, MP1 calls $1, 2 folds, BTN calls $1, Hero raises to $19, 1 fold, UTG calls $18, MP1 calls $18, 1 fold

Flop: ($59.00) 3 :spade: J  3  (3 players)
UTG checks, MP1 bets $30.38, UTG calls $30.38

Turn: ($119.76) T  (3 players)
River: ($119.76) A :diamond: (3 players)

Final Pot: $119.76
UTG shows 7 :spade: 4 :spade:
MP1 shows 9 :spade: J :diamond:
Hero wins $56.05
MP1 wins $60.71
(Rake: $3.00)

Anyways the iPoker story is still continuing, I have already made the necessary adjustments to play as optimally as I can. I cannot handle 12+ tables atm so I just stick to 9-10 at most. Also the cardbacks is changed to Pink *hihi* ;)

In February I will get a VIP upgrade so I earn my bonuses faster and then I am done with iPoker probably unless Mansion offers a bigger bonus than a Startingcapital + 200% up to $600. I may grind Nl50 then + some fishy NL100 tables...

Otherwise I will go to BWIN or FullTiltPoker although the latter is questionable for me with the stories I heard of the amount of Shortstackers there...

As an addition I feel that I fold too much on a 3bet from TAG regs who 3bet my UTG raises. I mostly hold JJ/AQ and stuff , with AK+,QQ+ it is a nobrainer obviously. :)

I have to take a look at that as well, a point of improvement so to speak.

Oh Did I told you Rob van Dam is baaaaaaaaack in the WWE?!??! SO AWESOME

Last but not least, ofcourse another episode of the FriedFish moment.

hey Gerv why dont you like the mansion bonus ? if you manage to earn 50k points in a month you get 50+100+600+500(shop) = 1250$
I am not sure how much rake is generated to get the 50k points though (hard to calculate because of the different points recieved). do you have any info on that?

Yes, but the $500 is in bonus dollars too.

Best regards,
kukkiwonBG

P.S. This is about 41k hands on NL100 or 21k hands on NL200

But what are those 50+100+600?
600 = First deposit bonus
but
100 and 50 ??

I think second bankroll and bonus for it...
From pokerstrategy

Some new deal....

Reply

50 = starting capital
100 = bonus which is a part og the 50+100
600 = 200% up to 600 on your first deposit

then you can buy bonusses in the shop as kukkiwonBG mentioned and as I see it you get a fair deal if you buy 1000$+ bonus. to get the 1000$ you have to redeem 6,500 points

Reply

but for 1k you need to play a lot and it is better to continue bonus whoring than to stay there....

yes I agree it is not the best deal around

[x] February Oh February!

A new month with new opportunities to take :) that is what February is all about. Forget Valentine's day. Forget the holiday in February. Gerv's goal in February is all about consistency! Coachings, Private Coachings, Sweatings, Theory, Math and Discipline. Blend it and add a little bit of cinnamon to get a good taste of it.

I filtered the NL200 results as the limit there is faaaaaaaar away right now. Focussing on one limit is already tough enough. Ofcourse I can focus on Nl50 but I can crush it so it is basically a Psychological disadvantage to mind NL200 together with Nl100.

With being Gold (Level 4) level on iPoker, I earn twice as much points right now so I hope to clear this FirstDepositBonus asap and I get a cool $200 kickback bonus along the road.
Furthermore I will be orientating on other websites during the 3rd week of February. Probably it will be either Mansion (Leo?), Everest or playing on FullTilt.

Everest is lucrative for its 5k points = $500 first deposit bonus + $25 TAF. Mansion is quite cool since I know the metagame because of the database I got and FullTilt is a must bonusclear website, don't know about the amount of SS there, trying to get a picture of it right now.

Concerning February my goals will be then:
1) Improve SSS style with new mechanics and techniques
2) Clear the whole bonus thing within 2 weeks
3) Let the Non-Showdown winnings be at -100bb max preferably break-even :)
4) Focus more on opponents = Play LESS tables up to 10!!
5) Get more confident in FreePlays in terms of Aggression, seriously I check/fold to much :(

Tonight I will be back up to iPoker and I will report to you guys tomorrow how it went :) Exams are over but no results yet!

Hmm I like this mashup, decide for yourself if you want to download it but this is the end of my post, trying to revive my Blog once again :)

Comments are welcome and appreciated I am sure you had a better January in terms of Poker!

[x]Equanimity

February first day for me on iPoker Soil and I already feel the tight ground I am standing on. Tables next, behind, in front of me are Tighter than ever. Despite the increase of tables due an increase of the playerbase, this can be an issue for Gerv. Clearing the First Deposit bonus consistently but still asap and then moving to another platform is the best thing to do because the $600,000 rake race is killing games, fast.

I played a total of 172 minutes on iPoker and playing 1.2k hands. It is not that much compared to the amount of time I spend but the main reasons are because I play up to 10 tables, most tables aren't that good and the software is not so fast. Instead it sometimes freezes and it does nothing, luckily I did not encounter any situation yet that I had Aces and folded them due this shit...

As I said before, the tables are getting tighter in the evenings (workday) because of this RakeRace probably. Although in the afternoon there are plenty of fish :) Obviously I had to do something for school in the afternoon so my 2 sessions were in the evening. 18:25 till 19:50 with an hour break playing Team Fortress 2

And then I took another shot van 20:15 CET till 22:30. I mean I want to clear my $200 kickback bonus + clearing addional $20 of the first deposit bonus.

The session went okay except for one thing, made an ugly mistake by shoving AK into 4:h3:c8:c board against 2 opponent instead of heads-up.. Q:cT:c called and a 9:c on the turn sealed my mistake thus losing a stack. Bummer!

As standard I am not happy with my non-SD winnings so I have to find a way to get that up. I hope xarry will help me the coming week by his own SSS coaching or our Private coaching!

The first session was until 621 hands so the 2nd session was not that good. Although I played break-even, I am still up due the bonuses

Today (3rd of february) I was thinking and brainstorming a bit how to improve my game during lessons, a kind girl sitting next to me (friend so no stranger haha) asked me if I am okay since I didnt talked for 20 a 30 minutes.

I replied like ''yeh uhh how to say it.. im thinking about my session of yesterday'' - she knows I play poker and she is one of my better friends so no ''Poker OMGfments Unethical blabla'' conversation going on.

So wel talked a bit about how much I earn and how much she earns etc.etc. Then at some point I read her as she saw me as an addicted 'gambler'. I do not know how I got this from but it was just Intuition and reading her facial expressions carefully.

I asked her if she saw me like that and I also stressed my question on honesty and she said 'ehm ye kind of'. I smiled and then replied calmy :) yes I expected that answer, that's okay because most people don't know how we play profitable poker.

In the end we talked about other things and stuff, she's very kind and I value our friendship

Oh by the way! I received the Mathematics of Poker book! yeehaw! I study a chapter per day and it is getting tougher every day but it is so interesting to know this!

It is a hard book if you don't like math and its equations and stuff. But it's worth its price (FPPs for the win )

Anyways I will stop now as I think I do not have more things to report about except 1 hand.
The hand is funny because I focused on the other tables wheN I saw his betting line + his holding, I pressed Auto-Rebuy hotkey already and murmered ''nice hand'' ;)
