Let me make the 100th post in this great blog
You're doing a good job, not only with your blog of course, but also with poker itself.

You owe me my apologies for last night, I wasn't being the most friendliest person at that moment (for the others, it's not as bad as it looks like, lol!). But I guess you already know why :)

I'll talk to ya later!

[x] Patience pays my blinds
Song of Today: Kane with Wanna make it Happen

Since I am currently not at home, I cannot post any graphs, the fact is that I played a total of 608 hands yesterday with getting 3 times AA in a short period of 5 minutes on 3 different tables out of 6. Fold, Fold & Fold².
It sucks. It happens. And its damn Annoying!

As you see on the picture, I think the most important link I miss is the ''Evaluate -> Improve'' part. I just play instead of evaluate and thats just plain wrong.
As a result of that I was carddead for 300 hands only to get eaten by blinds and super-mini stackers on NL25 who shoves their cards with Q7o and hit 2 pair or something..

Today is going to be a different start, a different approach and a different mindset. I am going to get organized in terms of weekplanning.

This suggests what I am going to do that relates with Poker. To name a few I do standard but very inregular:
1. WSOP/WPT Pokertube MTT
2. Coachings (Xarry, Leo's and Sreteb)
3. Education through Strategy Articles (SSS & SnG/MTT)
4. Education through videos
5. Evaluating my played hands, posting on the sample hand forum
6. Discuss the SSS sample hand of other people
7. Blogging and reading blogs
8. Playing cashgames
9. Playing MTTs
10. The question whether to play BoD or not etc.
11. Issues of which I am being confronted with in a split-second (=Annoying for me)
12. Etcetera...

Although I got a database of which I know like 60 á 70% of the Playersfield playing on NL25 regularly, I feel I cannot take advantage of that since I barely get called.

I feel I have to tweak my game a little bit to get the fish get hooked at my rod.

Today's programme will more or less be:
16:00 CET - 17:00 CET = Evaluating Hands, Posting Sample Hands
18:00 CET - 19:00 CET = Posting additional information on this blog and stuff
19:00 - 20:30 CET - Xarry's Adv. SSS coaching.
20:30 - 22:00 CET - Playing NL25 Party Poker SSS

Graph:

I also would like to interact with ''my'' readers so I will create some space in my posts for responses ;) I will mix it sometimes up with FriedFish moment and other things.

To Kimber88: Welcome back online! Ivé read your blog when you came back online and I will read it as soon as your next post comes ;) Thanks for the compliment, I enjoy your writing skills as well.

To DeKuip: To be quite honest: I did not really realize you were in a different state of mind untill we had this little dispute about pot was 13 BB or 14 BB. Anyway, I still think that a delayed C-bet would be better since your in a 3-way pot with only Nines with a doubled stack. ;)

Cheers!

Hi Gerv,

How much time do you spend with poker on average per day? Something like this would take all my time.

Nice read as always :)

Hi Finchy - Thanks for the comment!
About your second sentence: I personally don't know if I want to play BSS after I reached the NL1k by SSS'ing. I really like tournaments and SSS will aid me with BR increasing. Perhaps I will give it a shot but it is definitly not on my priority list ;)

Hey Termi8r - As you say average I think I can reach the 5 á 6 hours. This is 2 hours of playing during the workings days because in the weekends it will be definitly exceed 3 1/2 hours. Also 1 hour of videos (WSOP/session reviews) and 2 hours of Sample hands, education, chit chatting with other Poker buddies and stuff.

[x] Traffic Jam!
Song of Today: MotorHead - Born to Raise Hell!

I think I am in a Traffic Jam on the PartyPoker Highroad. Im not really progressing in terms of BR so I cannot be really satisfied even though - I THINK - my playskill is still at its best since I just play 6 á 7 tables. My highest +EV is playing at 6 á 7 tables. Playing less tables is obvious not really profitable with a VPIP of 7. Increasing my tables will have severe consequences namely...

1. I don't see the HUD properly althougH I only use the VPIP/FoldFlop & PFR/3bet stat
2. There arent enough tables to switch to if you have just doubled up.
3. I just cant take 12 tables at once due monitor and my mind. I have to build it up slowly but secure.

As for today's Session. I only played a 2-hour 600 hands session which resulted in some interesting plays and events.

I managed to get 4 playable hands on 1 table within like 4 minutes. I doubled up with the last one so I was quite happy I could leave with over 70+BBs
See it here.

my graph isnt that good since it didnt imported 1 hand where I break evened my session of today losing only 60 pennies. Although I did not lost, I feel like I am not progressing which degenerates your motivation a lot.

Also I screwed up my 1000th post so I want to celebrate my 1001th post so DeKuip, youve got something to party along with me ;)

Tomorrow I will be playing WITHOUT stats so I will only be playing basic SSS + reads like Limp/call with Aces from UTG etc.
Let see how that works out.

[x] Short update

Its been 3 á 4 days ever since ive updated my Blog. I was pretty busy lately with playing Poker and other real life issues (family).

Main thing is I still want to keep my blog up to date every day or once in 2 days.

Last night I played the BoD and got very far so I shipped like $25 in a $5+$0.5 tournament. While playing the tourney I cash gamed some on the Jackpot tables, quite juicy players are seated there because they all hope to win the jackpot - which ofcourse barely happens  .

I play SSS without stats on Nl25 as I have realized I should stick to basic SSS untill NL50 and NL100.

Concerning my education of Poker , termi8rs third movie is out with common SSS hands, I will study it and I hope I will find a leak or two - if I have any! - so I have to be self-critical.

I am also about to finish my first essay about topics of a SSS play. If you got any topics or thesis and you are willing to share it with me and the rest of the world. Please do so as I do not have many subjects to write about after this one.

Graphs + Results are going to be updated whenever I am on my own PC.
Take care and keep track of this thread in order to see the full post!

[x] With a Helicopter going up!
Song of Today: Bloc Party with 'Helicopter'

After calculating things, weighing out some factors - I have decided to challenge myself and to play as long as its necessary on Party Poker to generate 75 points in the last 5 days of the '''Points mean Cash promotion'' , I think its manageable and the Risk/Reward ratio is not as high as it was at the beginning of my NL25 adventure on Party

As promised I will update my blog more consistent than in the last 5 days. My updates usually comes 12 hours after I played my sessions so I can go to bed at a decent time ;)

My day started very decent, School and stuff. After I got back home, I saw a Dutch SSS player having some difficulties with his plays on NL20 Mansion. So I decided to help him by specating me and I spectated him via TeamViewer.

I believe we both achieve some insights on SSS plays and we both benefit from it. So I let him play first from 4 CET till 5 CET and I witnessed Variance issues that he had to cope with.
I also found a leak in his stats and I quickly told him about it so I really expect he is going to improve himself :) I am pretty sure he will be successfull as I see great learning potential in him.

- Why do you sweat others rather than playing?

As I said before, I am really in favour of interactive coachings between 2 individuals playing the same strategy. As this is a 1-on-1 session, the viewer can ask more questions about issues and plays he doesn't understand.
Also the viewer can pinpoint some questionable leaks and notify the playing player about it. As an addition, there may be a hand where both players have a different opinion about how to play the hand. As they are both 'players' and not a 'coach' and a 'player', I think the hierachy is non-existing thus a better learning atmosphere is created.

I dont want to offend him but I think he was rather new to SSS and it's downsides compared to my experiences. So how does Gerv benefits from this type of education??

Well I must say, I feel more secure to play with someone watching me because I have to explain in detail if I make a mistake. By saying that to the viewer, I mostly do not make the mistake again. Also the viewer can see a leak of which I see it as a habit so I do not notice it until day X.

To fulfill your request phullhand about how do I improve my knowledge by education:

This is one example that I utilize to improve myself and another player.

As a matter of fact, in the early days - long before this Blog creation date - where I played SSS on PS for exactly 1 month, I have experienced some losses on NL10 3 days in a row. -5 Buyins on Monday, another 5 on tuesday and 3 on Wednesday made me go on Tilt and made me very insecure about what to do.

What I did was one of the wisest move I made:

I took 3 days off despite I had a ''deadline''

Three days of intensive Theory, Video footage, Coachings, Sweating and Sample hands.

It felt like I was rebirthing myself and I had to control myself not to play Poker at that time.

After those 3 days, I went up and up till I was ready to play NL25 but then I switched of to Titan due there Summertime Rakeback bonus (40%) of which you can read in the first posts of my blog ;)

I hope it makes sense but let's continue with the Present: Yesterdays Session

As I mentioned before, I had a sweater watching my plays on 7 Tabled Party Poker. I was up 100Bigblinds after Session #1 where he spectated me.
He really enjoyed it and found it much interesting (I hope ) and I thank him for watching as he pointed out one thing.

The time between session #1 and #2 was the time that I was thinking of going for the $40 by reaching 1k PartyPoints by the end of Saturday Night. I think its mostly reachable if I play more this evening as I only had 40 SPP collected.

I played and played 7.. no Eight tables.
Actually it was Nine but in the end it was around Ten tabled PartyPoker on 1 screen. I couldn't manage it and despite that, I lost some sucky unlucky confrontations.

Nonetheless I ended the day in the green numbers so I was satisfied with both Points I generated and as in BR =)

I will leave the FriedFish for tomorrow as this post is too long ;)

Tomorrow a new update post!

Cheers

- Gerv

[x] Konichiwa Chips!

Song of Today: Robyn - Konichiwa B*tches (Trentemoller Remix)

Prior before I played my first hand of the day I sended an Email to Party's support to know how much Party Points I have generated for the Points-Mean-Cash Promotion. As I was playing, I got a reply within 15 minutes so I was kind off surprised by this. Nonetheless, Party confirmed by keep-on-track accounting:

Please, be kindly informed that as per our records I can confirm that up to now you have already accumulated 652.45 Party Points towards the Points Mean Cash promotion of ours.

My Poker schedule was Playing-Playing & Learning and Playing in the same order:
15:30 CET - 17:30 CET - Playing SSS 8 Tabled
19:00 CET - 20:00 CET - Playing SSS 8 Tabled
20:20 CET - 21:30 CET - SSS Coaching (Bronze) of Sreteb
21:30 CET - 22:45 CET - Playing SSS 8 Tabled

Pretty dull day don't you think ? Well I had my fun while playing and I actually made quite a lot of chips ( Big Blinds ) so I am quite happy about it.

The result you can find here in the graph:

I must admit: I sucked some people out but the majority of the hands won was justified by having an overpair or winning the coinflip.

What I've noticed was that my Aces were called more often and that I managed to get Trip Kings against any Pocket Aces while being All-in Preflop.

Pocket Aces getting called more often: A good thing
Getting all the money in the middle with Kings: A good thing
Sucking Villains out with Trip Kings against their Aces: Surely a bad thing in the long term!

As a ShortStack Player or heck everyone who plays Poker whines more often about their suckouts rather than talk about the suckouts they gave themself. I, myself tend to do the same - it is Human nature to remember bad things more than good things.

What I absolutely have to realize is that I give suckouts and receive one. This is the Variance part of Poker and should never be a main factor of your Poker plays. That's what I think and I remind myself when i give a suckout to someone '''Hey gee that won't happen again so be prepared''.

Ofcourse KKvsAA is an inevitable situation as a Shortstacker but there are plenty other examples where you could just Fold instead of Pushing decreasing your variance and thus losing less money in the Long Run.

Feel free to discuss this with me as I am curious what you think about ''Suck someone out with Gutshots/2-outers etcetera''

During the Coaching we had an interesting discussion about to Push it Out of Position while your C-bet contains 40% of your stack. Quite interesting since SSS doesn't contain that many possiblities to deviate from the original strategy in a way its still +EV.

Some comments about yesterday's session: I only noted down 1 mistake which costed me a buy-in and I think I played well. However I see that I regularly do not have any hands to post on the sample forum ( I got 2 ) so I will focus more on that in my future sessions as its a way of evaluating. I tend to evaluate my sessions more when I end up in the red numbers.

It's good to know it from myself but still I got loads of stuff to work on :)

let's wrap it up for the Fishing Pool the infamous:

[x] Swingy Wednesday!

Song of Today: Dire Straits - The Sultans of Swing

I am on my up to the $40 in which I want to invest in SpadeEye for Party & FullTilt Poker. As the promotion is getting nearer, I want to know for sure I surely will get the promotion money from PartyPoker so I mailed them again. As an addition, I feel there is more pressure on playing but it bothers me less than in the past.

Regarding your query, I can confirm that the promotion in question ends on September 13. At the moment you have earned 834.85 PartyPoints towards the promotion (last updated - 09/10/2008 23:59:59

So 170 Points in 3 days is do-able. As an addition I will then be promoted to King 1 so I will use my Reward points to cash in an additional $25. This makes it very seducing to move up a Limit thus NL50. I was thinking about it and I feel I am ready to move up as soon as I have 35 á 40 BuyIns. Ofcourse I have to integrate slowly and steady into NL50 so playing a Jackpot table on NL50 once in a while doesn't hurt.

This session was very swingy and I will upload my handwritten notes to prove it. I hope you can read it as I scanned it with the highest DPI thus the highest filesize.

__________________________

Here you can see that I lost more than I won but in fact, I didnt took the amount of winnings in consideration because I quickly took notes of Fishes and switched tables. I however can show you the graph to see the end result. I must say Im quite satisfied :)

Both sessions of around 90 minutes each started with some losses but I quickly recovered as I controlled my sighs and stayed focussed.

- So Gerv you skipped Xarry's Advanced SSS Coaching?

Yes, I have intentionally chosen to as I still play Basic SSS on NL25 as I feel its the most optimized way of playing. Especially with a Bonus/Promotion, its better to play more tables you can handle rather than to limit it to the amount of tables of which you can see the stats.

Despite I play Basic SSS, I am privileged to got daily contact with 2 SSS Coaches + a bunch of other SSS'ers who are playing on NL50/100+ so I can always ask something if I have doubts. Also I have got you guys to inspire me or make me change some habits ;)

Right after dinner I will play a small session because tomorrow I will be free all day so I can play for 100 Points or something. Ofcourse I still have the saturday.

I mentioned a Weekly Essay about common topics of SSS, I am about to finish it in the weekends and I will publish a new one weekly if I can ;)

I will wrap it up for now!

[x] Is Gerv still alive? yes..

No this is not my PC but as destructive as it can be, SSS in combination with a lot of strange plays can result in a massive blowup of your Bankroll. In merely 2 days, I have consistently blew up my winnings by losing - 250 big blinds it equals $68. Luckily as I am, the PointsMeanCash promotion covered some and my $25 cash coupon that I cashed in through Reward points on Party covered it as well. I hate it when I have to rely on additional resources/insurances since they are suppose to give me a bonus if I play solid poker... X(

1- A Downswing? Maybe.
2- Leaks found? Yes.
3- Pressure? Absolutely.
4- Change my way of Playing? Uh-huh!

1- A Downswing? Maybe.

I tend not to talk about Down/Up swings most of the time since it influences me in somehow of way. Downswings are a part of every Poker player and especially playing SSS, you should be prepared for them. I mean losing with Kings against a BackdoorFlush does hurt you. Not hitting anything and get reraised if you C-bet does hurt you as well as you have to fold due negative pot odds. As I still consider myself as a novice SSS player since I have started doing this since May, I still have to cope with the impact these things can do to you.
I never want to blame Downswings for my losses and therefore I will consider this 250BB loss mostly to my plays and other factors.

2- Leaks found? Yes.

Even when I want to help other SSS players, I still have some leaks. Yes I've got them and I successfully spotted some during my afternoon analysis on Saturday. What I have done is that I have checked every single hand during my 2500+ hands session which contains winnings/losses of more than 3BB.

As I always do the analysis the next day because I have to reset my mind by sleeping since the only reaction you would get if I analyse my hands played right away after a deliberate losing session is: Yeah bad luck [next hand].

It took me around 2 1/2 hours to fully understand the situation and my plays. I have all written them down. Feel free to see them here:

Some leaks I found were:
1) Not shoving when I had to bet around 50%~ of my stack.
2) Going all-in preflop with KQ/77 while a proper reraise is better for your hand.
3) Not check/folding with Pocketpairs while there are 2 overcards on the board. Mostly this happens on the River/Turn when I checked behind.
4) Not pushing Out of Position while I have to bet 40~% of my stack. Especially when I have 2 overcards and didn't connect.

As I am using a betpot script, this made my C-bets rather strange as I only use the mousescroll button. I will make normal c-bets right now based on Stats/board reading.

3- Pressure? Absolutely.

My quotes from my previous posts:

So 170 Points in 3 days is do-able. As an addition I will then be promoted to King 1 so I will use my Reward points to cash in an additional $25. This makes it very seducingto move up a Limit thus NL50.

I will be playing some more to accomplish the Points-Means-Cash promotion in order to purchase SpadeEye for Party & FullTilt Poker

Thinking about the future is almost the same about to create goals in the short term that are achievable but comes with a lot of pressures.
What I want to point out is the things that I have made bold.

Sure 170 points is do-able but I linked it with additional cash prizes and thus creating a sort of atmosphere of ''Do or Die''.
The second line, I already think of NL50. Well NL50 is now far far away as I am not happy about my way of thinking and playing. After all, the results says it all.

In the next quote , I highlighted the words 'will' & ''to accomplish'. Those 2 words are not too bad but in my mind Will is a synonym of must. Also to accomplish means succeeding in my mind. Although you can perceive it differently because I used different words than I actually meant.

To sum it all up: I can't play while having too much pressure on me. Just play and learn while playing Poker is just fine and is the most optimal playing style if I play.

4- Change my way of Playing? Uh-huh!

To sort off end my presentation about my last few days, I want to conclude what I have changed drastically. Some are minor things but some are major things that are quite crucial.

I feel when I make this adjustments, I will play at least better than in the previoius 3 days.

One: Play with a HUD. It is a waste of resources if I do not utilize those stats as it can be in my favour.

Two: Make a Continuation bet according to the exact amount and round it off to 2 decimals rather than 1 BB difference (eg. I have to c-bet to 1,87 but I make it $2 because thats 1 BB different)

Three: Only join new tables when You have left the tables you just doubled up with. This is a classic overview problem. I just can't handle 10 tables at once despite I am waiting for the BB on 2 and such.

Four: At first, I only played Poker but right now, even with 8 tables. I am tempted to go chattting on Skype + Mozilla firefox. WRONG, isolate yourself from your friends on Skype and don't touch the FireFox icon anymore!

Five: Utilize the stats given. I only watch the VPIP/FoldFlop/PFR/FoldBB/ATS stats but barely use the AF Flop/Turn and WTS information because I think they are not useful enough.

Six: Push OOP if you have to c-bet 40% of your stack. Do not push if 3 players are limping with marginal hands like AJ/KQ/77.

So this is the end of my sort of commentary about my days. I hope you found this style of writing appropriate but last but not least, I want to show the lifetime graphs on PartyPoker NL25:

Also I want to give you a little gift by reading my blog. It is a .pdf file about Poker Math. I found it really interesting and its a fast-read. It provides some additional info about calculations and stuff.
It is written by Roy Rounder.

It's free so it doesn't hurt when you have a look at it:

http://www.linkbucks.com/link/a01556a9

Today, I will be playing some SSS Poker on Party, wish me the best!

Yours sincerely,

[x] Recovering, going fine

Today's Song: D-Block & S-Te-Fan - Evolutionz

Man what do I feel released when I wrote my conclusion in my previous post. I also feel very well since I took a day-off playing MTTs/Satellites. While in the early afternoon on Sunday, the MTTs weren't really good for me, I managed to cash in $30 on the $5+$5, $15k GTD Pokerstars tourney what is now the BoD in both English and Dutch Community. I managed to get 148st and my consistency is really paying off. Also my MTT LAG studies pays off. While some plays were really questionable, I learn from every hand I play. I know that I like it because it's different than SSS. well its COMPLETELY different. SSS increases your Preflop play and MTT LAG more your post-flop skills. Both skills connect each other in some sort of way and I am benefiting from that.

My session of today started at 18:45 CET till 20:15 CET and I am not planning to play another one since I want to do something else ( Team Fortress 2 ).

As I didnt purchased SpadeEye yet, I am left with an outdated database and no table selection at all. So how do I fix that temporarily with PartyPoker? Simply. Just join the tables that have less than 2 other Shortstackers from who I think are decent ones.

I managed to get up 7 nonJackpot tables (Jackpot is currently at 55k again :( ). No-one stole my blinds in the first orbit but as soon as the HUD popped up, I saw some ATS percentages of 41% at max. Real sick.

So my first real hand was Pocket Jacks facing a raise from MP1 (Unknown). I decided to reraise it All-in and won the Coinflip again AKo. Another coinflip was won 15 minutes later with QQ vs AK. I completely misread a SS like guy with a VPIP of 14 but I know he is part of PokerStrategy. He 4bb raises CO and I think its a steal so I shoved with AQ. He calls after some hollywooding.

Flop came A:c Q:h 2:h
Whoa 2 Pair, seems cool

Turn: J:d
Seems Broadway would be dirrrrrty

River K:s

Villain showed Ace King. Whoa that sucks, from hitting my live card to getting a king on the river. It makes sense as my play got backfired when the tides were turned :)

Anyway, I ended up this session with an adequate profit rate and I am satisfied about my play after all, being satisfied is a must if I want to feel good, the profit is a sort of bonus.

I played 2 hands in a row against this fishy guy while I didnt got a lot of stats of him (10 hands) but seeing his style of play (clickraise UTG with KTs and stuff).

Just before this hand, I managed to get a stack to $7,82 with Pocket Kings and I unchecked autopost blinds and waited a whole orbit to leave. But then this happens:

Party Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 7 Players
Hand History Converter by Stoxpoker

BB: $14.73 (58.9 bb)
Hero (BTN): $7.25 (29 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with K♠ A♣
4 folds, Hero raises to $1, SB folds, BB calls $0.75

Flop: ($2.10) T♠ T♥ K♣ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.50, BB calls $1.50
Standard Continuation Bet

Turn: ($5.10) 5♠ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks
Wasn't too happy with this blank and I didnt want to 2nd barrel as the Flop was dry as hell

River: ($5.10) T♣ (2 players)
BB bets $4, Hero raises to $4.75 and is all-in,
BB folds

Yes Lol he folded his hand while he had to call $0.75 in order to win $13.85 thus a pot odd of 18.46:1...
I also got saved by the 3rd Ten on the River as I then was convinced I had the best hand. If a Spade came, I would be suspicious but I would lead out anyways if he checked and called if he betted.

My SessionGraph:

I will leave it up to now, See you guys tomorrow.
If you got a SSS Blog or Question, please do not hesitate to reply here :) I am very interesting in your adventures.

Hey Gerv,

I am thinking to move to Party Poker playing NL25 SSS there. PokerStars hasn't been kind to me and I feel I need a change. And I could clear some extra bonus as well. What do you think of the level of play there on NL25 and how many other SSS'ers will I be confronted with? Do you think it is a good move?

Cheers and good luck :)

Hello Termi8r,

The level on FR NL25 is surely depending on the amount of players and the time where you play. To give you an indication:
If the BadBeatJackpot is 275k++ there are 1) More fishes but also 2) More grinders from lower limits trying to get a beat.

I think the playskill is weaker than on Stars.
The amount of ShortStacks is less than on Titan but still quite annoying. Yesterday, I had to cope with 3 'á 4 other shortstackers on almost each of my 7 á 8 tables. I recognized 2 or 3 as PS SSS or at least applying it (VPIP 6 PFR 6 etc.)

The Amount of players on Party is rather limited in my opinion. Still there are enough tables on NL25 and NL50.

I personally think you should stay at Stars as the rewards/promotions are better there than on Party (Although I hit King and I can cash in $25 coupons earlier)
Party doesn't offer many tables at Nl100+ if you compare it to FTP and Stars.

If you have got skype, we can talk there once in a while ;) my Skype is gervified.

[x] Playing MTT's and cashing some

Days without posting is mostly due the fact that I am not cashgaming. As instead I am still playing poker: Tournaments!. As my final goal is playing Tournaments rather than cashgaming, I am going to spend 1 day per week on Tournaments. As I tilted in a very short session rather early, I was to change my direction for just once.
I signed up for a $5+$0.5 5k GTD Tournament on Stars in the Afternoon in Holland and short after that I played the $15k GTD with the same buyin. I see it as the Battle of the Donkeys practice because both have the same structure and stuff.

This post is going to be edited x times because I will update it with my SSS session of tonight after Termi8rs coaching I am currently following :).

As going for my MTT adventure on Stars:

I managed to get a Bankroll there from playing on BOD tournaments with backdeals. So with a free bankroll, I managed to get up and get up and play some MTTs myself.

First Tournament was this and with my {inconsistent} Aggressive way of playing, I managed to get sucked out once in the hand I was playing very well thus becoming shortstacked.
Final hand was KTo vs KJ and 33/66 became a fast 0/100

PokerStars Tournament #107931236, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $5.00/$0.50
1818 players
Total Prize Pool: $9090.00
Tournament started - 2008/09/17 - 09:00:00 (ET)

Dear Giantian,

You finished the tournament in 120th place.
A $11.82 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

2nd tournament was with a lot of Participants. Maybe it is because the Prizepool is tripled concerning the Guaranteed prize. More participants showed up so more bucks for your ITM finishes.
Funny thing is that I played consistently because a friend watched my back and is rather a TAG player who picks their spots and stuff. Unfortunately my Internet made me didnt played any further so I had to wait till tomorrow to see where I was finished. At that time my stack was 57th out of 169~.

Anyway the end result was:

PokerStars Tournament #107931334, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $5.00/$0.50
3393 players
Total Prize Pool: $16965.00
Tournament started - 2008/09/17 - 13:00:00 (ET)

Dear Giantian,

You finished the tournament in 59th place.
A $27.15 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

BankRoll on PokerStars is $50~ from scratch so I can play SSS NL10 on it
I wont, so dont be scared ;)

See you for my next update regarding the SSS Session of tonight.

[x]It's Like That! And That's the way it is..
Download the Song: RUN DMC - It's like that!

Sometimes I feel that someone doesn't want me to get up to NL50 and stuff. But in overall I thank myself for that since I still make stupid mistakes, the result in that is hurting my fist that smashes to my TV screen next to my monitor.. I did it a lot while I was playing eSports so Its not really a form of tilt but rather frustration..

The graph of today is rather slim and in a 'U'-form:

I changed my Layout + carddeck on Party so it is like on Pokerstars, simple, easy and comforting. My tables are plain black/grey while the cards are light blue/green/yellow/red so in a split-second I can see the board and stuff.

I had to get used to it but this is not the reason why I made some stupid mistakes. I think I am lacking stats/information that's why I purchased SpadeIt right now for Mining/Table selection.

I still have a candle burning inside me to get up to NL50 and my mind is chanting: 'Finally...... Gerv has come back to NL50!! (The Rock)

Guess I will be playing today as well and more focused as yesterday evening. Termi8rs session was really interesting but a real bummer he couldn't talk. I still think its better to let him just play and evaluate afterwards instead that Xarry tells him what to do basically although it can be a profitable for Termi8rs but in my opinion: He doesnt learn much from it than that he would make some minor mistakes and dicusses it with the rest.

Minor/Major mistakes are part of the game and I see a BI loss there as an investment. Let's hope it is not like the Lehman Brothers

My session ended in the red numbers with 10bb as a loss to cope with. I am progressing but in terms of BR, I desire for a new limit.

[x]Labour as usual

As I was planning to a big session, it ended up doing only one of 2 hours straight on 7 'á 8 tables. The reason behind this is the somewhat safe play of me to not continue when I reach over the 100 BigBlinds profit or loss.

This is the first day I used SpadeEye as a purchased program. I really enjoy it since Party doesnt offer any table selection atm. I dont know if it changes with its upcoming client update.

As now I can select juicy tables based on my database. And I got a 200k+ hands database on Party Nl25 and even then I only know 56% of the players on NL25 Party..
Collecting a database and combining it with your own mined is essential for playing SSS. You cant be profitable at all with Rocky tables.

I played well although I had to admit I sucked out a couple of times whereas a Push from me was inevitable due stack sizes + Equity. At least I had some callers with AA and stuff.

The Graph:

I decided to play Team Fortress 2 to entertain myself after this session, tomorrow is another day to play SSS and I will continue my campaign.

I changed some first post stuff so that the information presented there is up-to-date.

Quite funny I saw Berra in the early minutes and I got AA on like MP1. He Opens UTG with 3BB, UTG2 coldcalls and I was doubting whether to click-3-bet or shove it. As he knew I was playing SSS, he surely can fold his hand if he cant beat AK+,JJ+ as thats my reraise range. I just decided to shove and Berra suprisingly calls but the UTG2 folds.

Berra shows two Jacks and the third one failed to show up :), I sincerely think he could fold his Jacks but that's my 2 cents.

I will end it with the infamous FriedFish moment, for all your suckouts, luckb0xes and other momentums!
