Unusual for me, I played another short session. This time due the community feeling I had yesterday evening. Some played SnGs, I played the $50,000 DonkRoll etcetera. I feel when I play remarkably well, I have sample hands to post so that is a good sign that I still want to improve my play.

- So Gerv what did you do yesterday ?

I woke up at around 11:30 CET and I was taking it easy as there was no need to rush things here. I surfed on the Net while drinking loads of coffee. Made some posts here on the Forums, did some other stuff (hattrick.org etc.) and prepared some things.

I wanted to play 2 sessions of SSS and playing the Freeroll as a side event.
The first session was on Party NL25 and I played from 15:30 till 16:30 CET, only 1 hour of playing because I thought I would play later this evening some more. Well 1 hour of playing resulted in a merely 500 hands but still I was satisifed with the outcome as you can see here:

I made some freeplays/steals postflop mistakes so I lost some big blinds over there. Apart from that, the usual SSS things happened: Pushing, Fold equity, AAvsAk etc. Playing with Stats + a TableSelector makes your SSS career so much easier, you avoid tight tables and go to the Juicy tables where your Aces got called by Q6s (excuse me?)

After 18:00 CET, I played some video games to entertain myself. Civilization 4 is quite a funny game as well as CoD4 and Team Fortress 2.
While I wanted to mine NL50 on Party Poker, i couldnt play on it ofcourse so I played NL10 SSS on PokerStars while I played the $50k FreeRoll.

In 1 hour and a half playing on Stars, I made a 60BB profit there. Its nothing special but its just I cant play on Party while mining + playing the FreeRoll.

The Freeroll on the other hand, made my day. It was a 10 minute level blind tournament with 3,000 Starting chips. So what happened at some point is that some players who played really tight had suddenly merely 10 Big Blinds... Result: DonkPushing Festival starring: Me! .

Yes I had to do some pushing as well in order to get ITM, if you had doubled up twice you could easily get ITM. After the first bubble, more donks were elminated and in a record amount of time, we were set for the 2nd bubble and 3rd bubble and so on.

Basically you had to Double Up every 10 minutes in order to maintain a good stack. Even the biggest stack in the Tournament had a merely 20 big blinds...

I had to push AQo from the BTN while 1 guy pushed first-in for 1/2 my stack and a Bigstack after that coldcalled. I pushed and Bigstack called me down.
AQvsA3vsKK. No Ace = Goodbye.

The only thing that was good was the Prize payout structure as if it was a $20 MTT,
Im Quite happy with $60 I won because now I can make my move to NL50, and hell yeah I will

The Fish moment came from the same FreeRoll instead of the cashgame, I was rather flabbergasted by his move but nevertheless judge it for yourself by calculating odds/outs and stuff

Today I will be playing some smal SSS sessions + the Battle of the Donkeys and Titan Freeroll.

Also It Lags so I can barely manage 5 tables.
No AHK scripts possible atm. Horrible.

I will be playing on Titan or Stars in the mean time. Playing oN Nl50 Party is a no-no at this moment. Nl25 is possible but I do not really like it..

Finally after x days, the conditions to play on Party Poker were at most 'Fine'. I updated my AHK Script, I can Mine again but not table select. It was sometimes business as usual but today it was a new environment I was living in. No Limit Hold'em $0,25/0,50 aka NL50

On Nl25 I already prepared some of the Advanced Utilities namely Restealing, Push after Raise, expansions. Now with the help of Leo's Special Chart, I can make use of more. Ofcourse it's not a special chart but it has all been put on 1 page so I could print if off and learn it by heart.

Before my session began, I had some last-minute-questions to ask Leo. Actually my first message on Skype was: 'One more question Leo...' and I asked something. But as soon as he answered a couple of more questions arose ^^ so basically I asked 6 or 7 questions Gotta love this dude

As this is the 2nd time I move up a limit, I wanted to play it a bit cautiously. I played 4 á 5 tables now to get to know players and get used to the numbers. Well getting used to the numbers was fairly easy despite I had 'Scared Money' problems in the past.

The problem now was recognizing Fishes with a limited DB and finding out how they play. Well NL50 PartyPoker is barely the same as Nl25. I see passive fishes, loose fishes and solid TAGs. And ofcourse other Shorties but those arent that common anymore.

Limping with AA/KK on UTG is a common thing to do but will easily get recognized once I see it. No raises after him occurs and I can tap the table for a Freeplay. I am on the BigBlind so I am first to act PostFlop. Let's see 2 hands that happened slightly after each other:

Right, probability to get the board paired with giving me a Full house is 14,7:1 (=6%). From the Turn to River it's 12.7% or 6,8:1.

Quite a sad beginning to start with , I was lightly steaming and whined,whined,whined with foul words ♦ however my motivation pulled me back to the Game and so I remained focus as usual. I whine as well when playing eSports so..

however in the end, I made it all up to only lose 20BB~ so I am quite satisfied with my first play on a new limit.
Unfortunately , elephant has recorded a massive profit of $100 instead of -$10 due Party's new HH conversion. Party is quite Buggy and Im quite dissapointed that they didnt beta tested it first.

Tomorrow I will be playing some more, I also will increase my DB for Nl50..

responding to 25th septembers post

First hand love the double pot bet its unraised and giving bad odds to almost every hand that calls you but just give up the hand on the turn your hand has turned to trash.

Hand 2 is just bad luck your only 1 buy-in down so need to worry ey?

Ive played about 10k hands at nl 50 at 8bb/100 hands (pretty sick), also played 17k hands on nl100 at 5bb/100 and 6k hands nl200 2bb/100 on titan, and what ive noticed is how to exploit people who play sss at this limit. One example of this is when a ss player open raises in late position with less than 1:4 of his stack i often light 3-bet this player as hes folding a larger majority of his hands than he should. If they adapt to your play just note it down and 3 bet tighter from then on ive often got nice amounts because they call my 3-bets with really bad hands from then on.

Anither thing to think about is playing against standard bss players (im talking basic bss from ps.) one standard play I do against them is raise slightly looser against there open limps in the utg and mp spots. The only hands in their ranges are pocket pairs that they do not have the odds to call with to a ss raise and are sometimes almost like a dead blind.

Please note im only doing the above 2 things in general to players you know are solid tag style players as with fishes its just goin to end in disaster.

Also think about using some sklansky chuckbov pushes on the more loose oppenents with hands that are hard to play open raising in late pos. i.e p4's or A7o people often over adapt to this and call way too loose. This play gives greater variance but also greater rewards so id probly wait until you have a few more stacks to use this fully.

In general my starting hands are looser from all positions when i am open raising as play on titan is very tight.

Anyways gl with your ss'ing im sure youll do fine on your new limit

After a slow start, I went up and playing some more cards. Still playing cautiously on 5 á 4 tables, I expanded quickly to 6 tables.

First of all, I have read thoroughly Jmackenzies reply and I think that thanks to him, I am expirmenting/studying the Sklansky pushes while having <18 BB as stack. You dont have to rebuy and you have quite a loose image because you push with low PPs, Ax and Kx most of the time while doing the Sklanskys.

The graph of today. One thing to note is that it didnt recorded my 34 BigBlinds shove after a preflop 3-bet while I had Pocket Cowboys! Although they are cowboys, facing 2 opponents preflop is not the spot you want to be in..

So my total profit at the start of NL50 is around 40BB. a 40bb profit is normal but the $$ numbers behind it are making me excited. I shouldn't actually.. it will only make me play worse after I got a bad beat.

And today I had some. like Aces got cracked by Trip nines while we went All-in Preflop. Also Jacks got Tennified by Trips. Also preflop all-in

Nevertheless, I increased my DB on NL50 with a bulk purchase of HandHistories of my bonus money on Stars. 150,000 hands added to my repertoire so my edge is greater.

PartyPoker is still redeveloping their software but uptill now, I think I can manage beating Nl50 without table selecting. There are only like 12 tables on FR NL50 though. AHK scripts works. I can mine. HUD works. Im al fired up now!

Also in the mean time, I showed a fellow Dutch SSS'er the ropes of Titan NL20 of where he wants to play since Mansion switched networks. Quite interesting to hit every coinflip and stuff. I was making fun of it the whole time as if I didnt cared.. And I did not actually. Must be something with Attitude towards Titan Poker (Tight / Tilt)
I playedon 8 tables for 1 1/2 hour and I only got 1 AA, 1 QQ and 3 AK while on Party 6 tabled, I got more AA's,KK's than in 3 days of Playing on Titan ... gee.

Playing on 6 tables is for me a more safer approach instead of recklessly making hasty decisions that is not +EV at all. Although I only play 8% of my hands , I am more confident to play on 6. And after all, Party's NL50 tables are quite limited to like 14..

Instead of the regularly 2 á 3 sessions on a saturday (afternoon + 2 evening) I only played one in the evening, well I was planning to do Two but I wanted to go clubbing and drink beer ♦ . Again Elephant recorded my pushes as profit so I cant give you a reliable graph nor can I give a lifetime Nl50 graph because you only see an everlasting rising line..

So with six tables and some prepared mining before my sessions, I was ready to shoot the donkeys. Unfortunately TableSelection wasnt possible yesterday but now I can utilize that as well =). Popping up 6 tables and together with Scripts and charts, I was ready to play the game.

The level on NL50 is party very saaad to see and partly very decent. But I see extreme stats of players like 88/2, 44/19, 4/3, 5/5, 63/2 and stuff...
Somehow if one of my tables shudders its either that 1) Villains raises, re-raises and finally RR-raises or 2) I have an adequate hand like AK, JJ and stuff. although I do not need it , its very funny to see.

Playing from 19;30 CET till 20:45 CET is quite a decent time to play, 2 or 3 fishes at a table and either you win massive or got sucked out. With SSS it shouldnt really matter if you got sucked out once but win thrice for example.

My first hand on one of the six tables was pocket Kings on the Big blind. With 2 raises in front of you respectively from CO and SB, I was ready to get All-in and pray for a warm start of my session:

Reason I played this hand is that KTs is a playable steal hand but I totally forgot that against a Calling station, you wont have that much FE. However with a FD + backdoorstraights so I pushed this one.

I also added 3-bet Preflop in Early position in my HUD. I dont know if this is handy but seeing the amount of passive guys which are very very loose, it doesnt hurt to see how much they are Limp/Raising UTG..

Once again, I cannot provide graphs as they are showing I made a $100 (=200BB) profit in merely 452 hands as SSS'er. Pretty weird and unrealistic aint it?

While I am writing this BLog update, I am still playing in the BOD, Table 237 my accountname is Giantian. In the mean time I played 3 tabled NL25 with my 9 Buyin Bankroll. I know it's risky but I was confident I could beat NL25 with ease. Just Basic SSS though.

Here is my graph:

By playing just basic SSS on 3 tables with some basic expansions (playing AQ on UTG2 or Blindbashing) I managed to be +120BB up on 3 tables in 437 hands.

Now one can say its variance or an upswing but I definitly am confident that SSS works so for those who argue 'SSS doesnt workblabla' , It does, it really does.

I have doubled my roll on Pokerstars *lol* and ye the level on NL25 PokerStars is really really weak to disastrous.

I am glad it works that fine for you I never player NL50 at Party only 1k hands at NL25 but with -20$ I play SSS NL50 at ipoker and is damn hard there to beat limit

I think NL25 is harder than NL50 on Party, at least thats my opinion. Sad to hear you are break-even (?) at iPoker NL50! Are they tight as hell there?

At ipoker is damn hard because yes most of players are tight as hell and second is mission impossible to get table with less than 4 SSS players so basicly i don't know why is still bother playing there ♦

I assume you play with stats?

Ever thought of purchasing a Table Selecter/Mining program? EyePoker is a good one for iPoker platforms.

I think there is a 7day trial for you to use. It supports PT/HM/Elephant.

I realize it would be about time to start using stats. So far i only use elephant to analize hands after session. No stats because already after i play one hour 16 tables computer gets damn slow(i don't have really good comp yes ♦). I use notes i write about players they are really useful and could say probably tell me more than stats would. I just think best is to try new sites at start. I mean on ongame i dont have any acc. jet and players say is quite fishy and most of sites inked there have incredible first deposit bonuses-some even 500% up to 5k$ ♦

But i am stubborn so probably will try first another TAG site fulltilt ♦ Than after i learn patience is time to start fishing

I am nowhere responsible for the birth of those kids nor am I affliated in any kind with them!

My day didnt started very well.. I had to wake up at 06:30 CET and finishing 107th at the BoD shortened my hours of rest. Anyways when I woke up I felt a sudden charge of pain in my intestines.. I couldnt stand up straight nor could I bend forward. I couldn't dress myself up (pants/shirts). All I could do is lay in bed and rest more because otherwise I would be crippled with pain throughout the day.. Going to college was next-to-impossible

I donated some blood for research and when travelling back home I went to the local MCdonalds because I was hungry (was around 11 CET).

I do not want to talk about it but its quite ''frustrating'' to exaggerate the situation a bit.

as my thread title says I think I am planning to play shorter sessions on less tables thus I play less hands. I think that playing on 6 will get my 100% focus. Sometimes I will be playing 7 but that's the absolute maximum. With this I can easily locate Sklansky charts and Equity charts without making split-second decisions. I hope I will maintain gold with this measure

I think this affects my winrate/100 a lot since I have more time to think about the plays I do and about to do.

My table selecter did the selection job and I managed to hang up on quite loose tables ♦ Again, the Party software isnt perfectized yet so I cannot enter amounts manually so I had to bet 1BB more or less with my AHK script..

My % edge against other players is paying off for me so far, the invested amount is already making some profit. With NL50 that loose on Party, I am satisfied about my plays. Nevertheless I still keep posting sample hands + learning some additional stuff.

My Database is huge because I got 2 limits in 1 Database, making Elephant a very slow animal. I dont know if I will split those 2 up.

To Slikec: I think its mandatory to use HUD/Stats from Nl50+ especially on iPoker Tight Network ♦
I think by playing less tables and with stats, you will achieve at least 2 bb/100 winrate You play on sixteen, I play only on six atm ♦

Today was a very - let's say? - relaxing day. Not that relaxing as yesterday because I did not played at all. My internet was very unstable in the afternoon so i couldnt play a session there so I watched the WSOP Main event on Pokertube and fill my free time there. In the evening, I had to do something around 18:00 CET so I started playing at 20:00 CET . Once again, six tables on NL50 SSS. It's not that much but it keeps me focussed and organized.

I joined up the 6 most loose tables on NL50 Party so getting called was alright, getting called by unplayabled hands was a bonus! There were some minor losses due 1) SB limps in first-in with Kings (43/0/0.1) and he calls my push on the Flop while there are 3 ♣ on the board. 2) Another joker on MP3 who limps in with KK, I went all-in with AK because BTN raised properly. All but MP3 folds and no Ace on the board gave him the win.

I ended the session early because I couldnt join up the proper 6 tables.

It went very good and I must say I am confident to play the players on NL50. I know I can beat this limit and I expect that I will continue growing my BR.

Part software atm is quite buggy. Sometimes I do not see my Hole cards and then suddenly PartyGaming shuts down so I have to open PartyPoker again.. Also sometimes I cannot enter bet amounts manually so I have to slide or use the Scroll AHK script. Also sometimes it is lagging too much if I play on too many tables or Mine on 18 tables.

Anyways, what I win now on Nl50 is substantial bigger than on NL25/NL10 so winnings feel better but and losses can give me a headache. Nevertheless I am holding on with my BRM so Im fine whenever cards aren't hitting at my disadvantage.

Although I am ill today and yesterday, I still wanted to play today. I took a day off yesterday because my head was spinning around. Today it was still spinning around but with medicines + Taurine, I can overcome my illness temporarily!

My day started around 12 CET, putting my PC on and downloading WWE! SmackDown + mining on NL50 to prepare my session. The session started around 14 CET but it was laggy all over the way. I couldn't grab a hand with elephant on the tables itself. I couldnt open elephant within the necessary seconds.. It was lagging, irritating and made me go on TILT! Like the Mouth does in Live games, I was whining a lot then.
My plays were good and I lost a few BBs resulting in an even more aggressive Gerv towards Elephant. I called it for this moment as I wasnt able to fix this problem in the short term.

What I did was clearing the database and re-importing all HH's of NL50++ only. I had a NL25 combined with NL50. Sadly this didnt worked out really well.
So a 1 Hour session played in the afternoon resulting in a 3BB profit ♦
Delete Database -> Create -> Import -> Wait 2 hours -> Optimize Database -> Awesome!

In the mean time I watched WWE! and mined 18 tables on Nl50 with ♠ so i had some time to cool myself down. I also uploaded NL25 & NL10 PartyPoker databases on the Dutch forum. Ive judged some Sample Hands by other SSS'ers and I got judged by them at the same time.

I was flabbergasted when I earned around 45 standard partypoints the day before yesterday and only saw that I have earned 34 Lottery tickets for the Daily jackpot on PartyPoker..

My second session was from 19:00 CET till 23:00 CET with 1 major break in between due the lack of concentration and Tables. I played Team Fortress 2 in the mean time and that was quite funny so I had some relaxing time as well!

I only made 1 20BB mistake. Well mistake.. He saw that I was blindbashing a lot on the BigBlind. So basically what happened is that I got dealt A8o, Everybody folds but SmartSB. He completes first-in. I reraise to 4bb to pick it up since SB completing is weak.
I didnt notice the table (I was playing six tabled..) and I saw a reraise of him to 12BB. Then I decided to snappush it because I thought A8o was quite decent. He called and flipped over ATo, good game. Noted down.

Tables in the evening were quite Tighty so I had to quit earlier otherwise I would be playing against 11/10, 8/7 guys. Not exactly what I am looking for!

In the end, I made some good looking profit. I am proud of it and continueing looking for more opportunities!

A long post but that should compensate my absence in the past days.

Victory!

After 5247 hands, I made it. I reached my necessary bankroll for NL100. A sincerely - holy .... - achievement from my personal perspective! I was satisfied and happy when I ended this session of today!

As part of my celebrations, I would like to share some music with you. I got like 135 gig of Music meaning that if I want to listen to it all at once, I should take 70 days for it

This post is dedicated to the start of my ShortStacking career on NL10 back in the days. I was learning on NL10, I was struggling on NL25 and I am winning on NL50. So how did it happened so quick? There could be several factors like: experience, amount of tables I play, table selection, experimenting stuff, education etcetera. Point is, I always searched for fishes through SpadeIt, and I found them. They call my pushes on the Flop with Pocket Sevens on a A:d K:h 3:d board and while the 3rd Seven was falling on the Turn, I made more money from these kind of strange plays by them than that I lost.

I like to show some graphs of NL50 and also some statistics. Feel free to comment on them so I can adjust my play on NL100 (I will be playing more loosely there)

As concerns from yesterday's session, I only made 19BB profit, it didnt went that smoothly as I thought but hey Shit happens

I will be keeping my NL50 database and Add NL100 mined hands into it. I saw that due Party Poker's traffic, NL100/200/400 players are also playing on respectively NL100 and NL50, even NL25.

I keep on playing on 6 tables instead of Xylere's 24, I simply cant handle 9 thus Party offers like 15 tables on NL100 anyway

I will wrap it up with my biggest L O L donkament winning on NL50. FriedFish is back!
