Not much happens here lately. I am going to play 1 session (4tabling 1.5 hours) per day at least to get some pace in my SH progress

Furthermore my exams are coming up in 2 weeks which will be the first ever University exams (multiple choice -.-) so it will be quite new for me to face this unknown challenge.. Though you guys can help me how it normally goes but I rather want to experience it myself.

Also there is some psychology involved in this

Now you never éver experienced an exam of subject X on University Y.

Now you ofcourse study very very hard OR you do not study at all hence resulting in a significant lower mark (obvious unless you can coinflip very well in Multiple Choice Exams )

So there are 2 consequences:

Either you receive a high grade like a 7 out of 10 and will be extremely happy with it and u get your ECTS.. Now the aftermath starts for Test #2 , #3 and #4. Because you already got a high grade, most people think in ''Break-Even marks if the method is that the average grade of the 10 tests have to be 5.5 out of 10 at least to be admitted to Bachelor-2

Test #1 is a 7 so in order to be break-even one must score a 4. Now that's easy ay? ♦

So you sit back, relax and study for Test #2 with a mindset of getting around a 5.5 or 6 is okayish.
I can guarantee that your mark for Test #2 and #3 and maybe even #4 will be worse than #1!

It will be something like this:

Where you start off with a high number and then slowly stabilize 1 or 2 points beneath that first mark (eg. #1 = 7 , your avg will be then around 5 or 6)

Now you can also score like an insufficient mark like a 3 out of 10 for your first test and then you are like ''WOW things really need to get changed if I want to reach the 2nd year of my Bachelor''!

Guess what, you ARE going to improve, dedicate, commit yourself to more studying (Most people do..)

So you keep scoring relatively higher marks compared to the first disastrous test. So your graph will show like this with the x-axis T# is the number of tests and Y (vertical axis) as in your mark.

Ofcourse, Ofcourse this is theoretical but I do like this things ♦

I've purchased an e-book called ''Easy game'' for studying theory a bit more while I am travelling towards other parts of the country. Thanks to KDippy I received some vids from BalugeWhale from DC and whilst this ain't my normal stakes, I do see some insight of the game.

It is actually the same as what I did with SSS: I watched xarry's vids while I was still on 25/50NL

Well I printed this e-book ofcourse because I do not have a laptop but I think it was worth the investment as the index of both volumes gives you a significantly good insight in how to fix your leaks, recognize some situations/patterns and learn some new tricks.

The investment costed me around $1,000 and some people will call me stupid but I do see it is an investment instead of Costs

I mean I want to get better and I got some ''Dead Time'' as in travelling to my parents or friends and I want to utilize every minute I got

when printing it out, I can actively highlight some important stuff as though i was summarizing it but I also note down some own thought so I stay active while learning the theory. Passive learning is not optimal, Active Learning for the win

Since I have a test tomorrow I will wrap it up. tomorrow's coaching will be a good start for the weekend! at least I am not going to be that moody like last week

Well you can see $1k as 20 BI at 50NL SH and I am nowhere a big winner on that limit yet but I just felt that I need a direct improvement to my game and I learn things optimally by having a book so I can note, mark and write the important things on the paper + writing my own thoughtprocesses on it.
That's active learning for me.

Watching videos makes me go bored and I probably chat and surf on the Internet as well!

Concerning the KQs hand during yesterdays coaching, I certainly can:

Now I remember that I've said that I found this close just because I got K-high instead of A-high ( by default A2o vs KQs = 54/46 )

But that was not my biggest concern. As you can see shortstacker is a bad player playing 20/12 over 1.9k hands and his minimum range is 14% as in openingrange. Taking a static calling range of AQ+,TT+ (4%) his fold equity is huge (72%). And then we have to play against the Fish who either calls (= Profitable ) or folds ( = Also profitable ).

Let's calculate some scenario's with our biggest concern MP1 since we expect to get the least value from that long term:

Assuming Fish will fold if SSp shoves as well:

Pot 4.75$
ES $9.45
DM+blinds $2.75
Fold Equity assuming 4% CR (AQ+,TT+) => 1-[4%/14%] = 70%ish
Equity vs AQ+,TT+ = 31.5% (Equilator)

EV = Pot*Foldequity + (1-Foldequity)[(eff.Stack+Deadmoney)*Equity – (eff.Stack*(1-Equity))]
EV = +$2.54 excluding substraction rake

$2.5 = 5bb per hand and that's huge. Now let's assume a wider callingrange and thus a decreasing FEQ:

Pot $4.75
ES $9.45
DM+blinds $2.75
Calling Range AJs+,AQ+,88+ (6%) ==> Equity versus that is 35%
FoldEquity = 1-[6%/14%] =58%

EV = +$1.97

That's pretty obvious. Adding pocketpairs and we are flipping more. Adding Ax and we are also flipping more at our disadvantage.

But what if both players call? Wouldn't that be disastrous? We got no FEQ if both are calling. Well we got as soon as there is some knowledge that Fish will fold if SSp also folds (''pot odds pot odds odds odds odds ♦'' © DeKuip)

Let's czech that one out giving Shortstacker a 4% AQ+,TT+ range because that's where I put him on when he calls my all-in.

Pot $4.75
ES $9.45
DM+blinds $2.75
FoldEquity: I assumed that if shortie folds (around 65% then), there is also a chance Fish will fold ( I assume 33% here being really optimistic imo) so 65%*33% = 21% FEQ

Now we have to give the fish a tricky range. I exclude KK/QQ but leave AA/JJ open for some trickiness all the way down the 40% range:

Player 1: 50.645 % 49.767 % 1.898 % 48.336 % TT+, AQs+, AQo+
Player 2: 26.526 % 25.952 % 1.290 % 72.758 % KdQd
Player 3: 22.829 % 21.834 % 2.133 % 76.034 % AA, JJ-44, A2s+, K2s+, Q3s+, J6s+, T6s+, 97s+, 86s+, 76s, A2o+, K6o+, Q8o+, J8o+, T8o+, 98o

Now filling that in in our EV calculation:
-$1.94

And that's where I was ''afraid' of because as soon as SSp throws his stack in, I expect this big whale to call as well and we are in big jeopardy losing 4bb every hand long term if we continue this move.

You also got the fourth scenario where SSp folds and fish calls but as we have already a significant profit against SSp, our profit will be around the same against this whale. I expect to be a little bit more since we win more with our Equity than our FoldEquity pot share.

I hope this helps a bit but this was my thought process in scenario 3 and that's why I didn't liked it at first but still decided to do it for the sake of ShortStack Science ♦

Yo yo I just finished ONE session on saturday night.. Jeez it is because my parents came over here to improve the quality of my room (making LockDown multiplayer sessions possible for instance )

They brought me a mini fridge with the booze I had at home so I can enjoy myself a nice corona, estrella damn, Grolsch, Heineken, Vodka or sth else at your request if you are thinking of moving to the Netherlands.

DeKuip for instance is coming here in early December and I also got Guitar Hero available on the PS3. If you dont like Guitars, we also got Drums & a microphone for Guitar Hero

Now back to Poker because I was quite lucky hitting the cards but I was extremely happy with thin valuebets on the River thus I can say that I was focused when playing. I played 4-5 tables and regularly changing it whenever the table was f** up due Regs.

Regs on the left of me is No-Ho-Go! I want to leave those kind of tables asap especially with a Reg I got history with.
