Well the new title to me blog says it all really.......

NL20 has kicked the living shit out of me. I win lots of small hands but the big ones........mmmm. Some are suck outs, but I just can't resist calling the donk/overbet.

To quote Led Zepplin ' It's Nobodies Fault But Mine'

With my BR now lighter by $150 I'll see ya'll on NL10 tomorrow.

Gotta go, my buddy Johnnie Walker has just arrived............... :)

I haven't posted for a while. Still been depressed about my NL20 Failures (see above).

NL10 is going well (16BB/100 since stepping down)- as always. Is there such a huge gulf between NL10 and NL20? Me thinks not, therefore the problem is me........bugger X(. But i'll figure it out eventually.

But I digress, my real reason for this update is that I could not connect to Titan last few days (Thanx to my ISP provider installing some new firewalls or something). So I for the first time since starting cash games I played on Stars. So I thought I would post my thoughts on the differences between the two sites on NL10 FR BSS..............

Stars has a lot less SSS at the tables, in fact MSS ($6) seems to predominate, WTF?

Stars has lots of limpers and therefore more players per flop.

Stars therefore has more fish (see also MSS above).

On Stars players seem less inclined to steal or defend blinds.

Playing aginst many limpers in a pot is tricky though - especially as they are prone to calling your raise (4xbb + 1 xbb/limper). WTF?

Stars is more 'laggy' than Titan.......very annoying... 3rd flop card pauses every damn hand. Buttons need multiple pushes.

Stars does not show hole cards during All ins........very annoying.

Stars allows players to muck their cards after shown down.....very annoying.

Stars has better graphics.........Elephant easier to read.

On Stars there are more table hoppers. Makes reads and note taking difficult.

Stars deals cards more quickly, but allows longer time for decsission making which is a good thing.

SO on the basis of my observations IRO the quality of the players on Stars, you must now be expecting me to brag about how much $$ I made the last few days..........mmmmmmmmmm.

Unfortunalty Stars is Rigged :f_biggrin:. Seroiusly though, I took a couple of monster bad beats. The worst thing about losing money to fish it that they lose the $$ they won off you to others before you can win it back off them!

Wow, so this turned out to be my longest post ever......sorry

And Jenson Button to win again this weekend at Monaco :f_cool:

Stuff the poker and the F1. The real question is: are the Bulls good enough to make it a Final in Pretoria? :f_biggrin:

Andy have you seen the "Get back up" video in my blog? It worked wonders for me. If that guy can keep his chin up so can we!
Another thing that helped me at NL20 was reading a LOT of silver articles and a couple of NL50 silver videos. A gold NL50 HU video helped tremendously too.(It was silver for a couple of days)

I recommend you post a lot of hands in the evaluation forum, I dont see so many from you.

Maybe I can comment on your play when you get back to NL20 with the teamviewer thingy...

I may be wrong, but you seem to have the same problem I often do. Calling down someone because he is a donk. No matter how hard I try to remember that he has the same chance of good cards as I do for every given hand, he just plays them bad and I must call. The other problem I had was I was losing alot of money to Short stackers on IPoker. Those bastards.

What I did was move to 6 handed. You seem to get rid of the short stacks and the full stack rocks and you get to use your ability to play with skill. Since I switched from FR to SH my downswing has ended, and I feel I am playing dominating poker again. Less people making donk calls with bad hands preflop and catching fulls with 28o.

The other thing I did was I won a big live tourny, so I deposited some more money into my account to play NL50 SH. You would not believe the difference in the quality of play. The big thing is I find is my style of play works better with better players. People respect moves (you have to respect thiers as well), and it feels like actual poker is being played.

Over a few thousand hands in short handed i'm way up, but thats not the important thing. I have been sucked out during that time, but I feel I'm in my element. If I where you I'd try some SH poker. Skill seems to win out more in SH than FR.

Cheers

I'm VERY conservative when sports betting and only do so when the odds are clearly off. Too close to call for me... and a cold beer is not going to be cold anymore going in either direction!
