[Closed] Grinding up and down (NL100-NL400 SSS + NL25 MSS + MTT)

Hi,

Mainly I play SSS NL100 at FTP. When there are NL200 tables I will play them. If not I open up NL50 tables until 16 tables. The shallow tables are okish. The problem is the total amount. So I dont leave the table above 25xbb but just stay even with 150xbb...

Sometimes I play at stars. And I have played at Party. I dont like the soft of Party so I left when I cleared the bonus

How many tables are there on ongame?

Well I used to use 50xBI BRM for the next limit. But when I have 30xBI and see a big fish I will just join the table Once I even opend a NL400 table with 15xBI Many fishes so I couldnt resist it

21xbb/100 is alot! I would move up to NL30 if I were you. Just take some shots (1 or 2 tables) and see how it goes IMO. Just keep posting hands and improving your game.

The only problem at the moment is that I can't use any HUD.
Is it possible to play NL30 and NL50 without HUD? how much does it help your game in special situations?
I use OSX so there is no chance of getting HUD on ongame, and I guess I'll be needing HUD on higher limits. Only thing I have is notes i manage to put on players.
A lot of people complain about the software for ongame skins. I don't really mind since I only played little on iPoker before... don't really know pokerstars, full tilt and party so I can't compare it.
There is some traffic on ongame in peak hours. about 25k players overall. I lately started playing 6+ tables. which is easy in peak hours even for single limit (either NL10 or NL20) and if you play three limits you shouldn't have any problems in finding tables. problems are waiting lists. THERE ARE NON :-)

You don't need a HUD at NL50. It is better but not really a need. If you play 4-6 tables you will have time for notes. Try to find the fish as soon as possible and make them very visible on your screen (colours if possible).

Just out of curiousity I tried to find some MSS in Rush. I played a 2 hour session NL25. Found it quite doable. Only played 2.7k hands now, and damn those guys are nits! So the first 1000 hands was a bit adjusting and coolers. No idea if this will work but I think I will give it a try and will mix it with my SSS shallow sessions. Anyhow, the sooner I adapt to MSS the better ♦ Shallow is MSS aswell most of the time, so this will speed things up.

Hi,

I have been playing Rush MSS for 13k hands now (mostly NL50). I had to make the first adjustments. I was way too loose in blinds steal/re-steal situations. Did some calculations with the equilator and adjusted my ranges. After all, in Rush most players are NITS! It is nice that after playing this amount of hands, some decent stats are developing ♦

Hi all,

Played some 25k MSS hands now. My DB got @#@#$up a little so no graph this time. Pffff 3bet/4bet ranges are TIIIIIIGHT KK+ if not AA mostly. I changed my HUD completely tonight. It's foccused on steal situations and PFR/3bet/4bet only. No need for something else, which makes life easier . Damn raise an UTG is for fold equity only unless you hold KK+. Nitty rush players :f_grin:. Most 100BB regs play 9/8 style or even tigher. Thats even tight for a SSS'er :f_o:. I play someting like 10/9 and 5% 3bet. I have become a lot more aware of picking better 3bet spots, and try to get to the fish. The regs arent worth it unless they dont defend there blinds or fold too much to 3bets

Though spots are KK+ with 40xbb with 4 people in the pot. It's hard to fold an OP with only 40xbb, but anyone calling 4-way, prolly has you beat wit T9s :f_confused:...

I'm slightly above b/e now and still adjusting. Most profit comes from RB now, but the results are going up.

Quick update. Making some nice progress here. The 2k mark is closing in Mainly playing Rush NL25 MSS now (BRM nit! ). Due to too less focuss I wont play NL50+ until I am focussed again. So mainly grinding the easy way now. 36k hands played and it looks like this must be doable longterm.

The garph below misses some $100 due to HEM not importing the hand. After I doubled up, I leaved the table too quick resulting in unwritten handhistory.

Hi,

Nope. There are some MSS video's in the german section though, but I suck at german. I tried to follow one, and what I saw was that that MSS is quite different from SSS. So learing that for just a few hands... When I double up (SSS), I use about the same range, but you have to be more carefull post flop. You cant go broke against every villain/board as easy anymore.

I cant wait too until PS releases the first MSS articles!

Ok, survived another downy Ran terrible. Net loss $150 because of a released bonus+RB... Ran like 30+ BI below EV, add some set ups and coolers and you will get the picture. Auch variance in MSS is really hard!

Party Poker wanted me back. So they gave me $25 and a bonus of $300 to release. Wel that will be a somewhat impossible goal with $25 BR. But nice anyway Dont know if its woth the effort though.

So did a quick SSS shallow session. There were 1 NL400 and 1 NL200 tables which were super fishy. So I couldnt resist (NL400 is out of my BRM...). I added some 10 tables NL100 for the volume.

So first hand I played against turbo fish who l/c somewhat ATC. CO was opening too loose and our fish called. First I thought of raising (because I misread the hand thinking CO raised 2xbb instead of 3xbb ), but since that would commit me (duh) OOP I choose the easy way

I have quit MSS until PS releases the articles. I think I did pretty okish with it, but I'd rather play BSS Rush instead with the knowledge it's good.

My main game is still SSS by FFAAARR. I always feel confident playing it but there is still much to improve. Large part of the income is still RB. I defenitly feel my game has improved a lot last month. Main reason is playing around with the equilator. It's great to know which spots are +EV without having to calculate it during play

It's a real pitty FTP offers mostly NL100 shallow tables. 100 BI is a bit overkill Sometimes there are NL200 and NL400 tables to mix in. Time to check some other sites for a nice FDB to clear

Seems you are doing well at using the SSS, I won't be at YOUR tables btw, as if I do switch to the SSS then I'll be playing at Pokerstars as there are more tables :P. I just played one session at NL25 using the basic handout PDF only, Not a great session, but then I am having a 'run bad' day anyway. Finished 4 BI's down in the end but never mind.

SSS is fun when you dive into the theory and find the +EV spots rahter than blindly follow the SHC and basic rules :P. I would suggest playing it for like 50k hands minimum. It will improve your BSS as well
