@Primrose i agree on that but unless you have a sample size on a calling station you only can make an approximation of a pushing/calling range.
What i mean is that buying a tool to have a rough approximation is wierd to me. Instead if you play on a pool of regulars that applies ICM and you cumulate or cumulate important sample size of data on your opponents i will agree to give it more value and even more when on the bubble since the less outcomes possible the more accurate it should be.
But let's say @ micros you have some opponents with FLHs background , some Others with MTTs background and some others simply around for Fun the ICM/NASH concepts will not maximize your profits. Espacially in Early and Half Middle Game. Then from the bubble time to the ITM it will or might do in theory.
I'm not even sure it will grant you any Positive ROI% over a long run of SNGs ...
ICM/NASH calculators refer to average players
Indeed and that's the point, Average Players are not the players you face. PUSH & JAM are more likely made for an equal environment of players.
Or You gonna have to run the calculations for the Average Players, Those Who Use ICM , Those Who Use ICM adjusted , Those Who Play it like MTTs , Those Who Play it like CGs ... Etc ... I'm not going to buy that lol
Wich to make it short the same environment means players using the same strategy VS You then from that point you can deviate to a better strategy and if they don't deviate neither assuming you all are at equal skill.
On a mixed environment of players like in real life and online , Players at the tables won't all use ICM. Some will use Sklansky Ranges , others Sklansky advanced Ranges , Others Kill Phil Ranges , Others just play it like CG and others with no strategy at all so in that situation i still don't think ICM/NASH is efficient at all.
The only interest of a push/fold strategy is if you face more skilled opponents since it will reduce their edges and positional advantage when some , it will also avoid post flop mistakes and deny them resteals/reshoves. And also From the bubble point when 4-handed . Bubble Time with more than 4 Players still won't be efficiant/accurate and still you will have to adjust your ranges....
On the intellectual side it's interesting to know what would be an equilibrium strategy if everyone where just Pushing/Folding/Calling with equal skills. But just on an intellectual side.
It's just my opinion based on ICM , NASH Equilibrium Thesis/Counter Thesis & Poker Bots STT vs Bots/Humans.
I don't claim it's the truth about it but i want to find out by myself running simulations and not just by reading marketing teaser (AI that trains vs itself ... blah blah ... yeah if it trains vs itself just by pushing folding it doesn't get us anywhere,
Also a bot that train itself with the same structure of a STT will play more hands between each blind level since it will take milliseconds to push/fold/call and play next hand ... )
By The Way Welcome Back Prim !!! Hope you had a super BDAY and enjoyed all the sweets / chocolates & Drinks
Best Of Skills & Luck @ Tables,
