This is why I called you poker guru.
congrats!

I want to tell you something about this:

But you know what? I learned from this experience a lot and I'm glad that I had it now.

If you only say "I learned" it is not good. You actualy have to learn something. It is verry tricky when you say "I learned" - you can easily fool yourself to belive you learned something when in fact you learned nothing.

Make an exercice: You said you learned a lot. Tell yourself what you learned. If you can quicly say some things that you learned and if you are happy about your new knowledge and have nothing to add, then you really learned something. If you have to think, then you fooled yourself to belive you learned.

Think a lot about what you have to learn from this experience because you always have more to learn and you don't want to repeat the experiences just because you missed a lesson.

It helps alot to write down your lessons. or at least make that list in your head. It helps you to know exactly what you learned and it helps you to remember the lessons next time you need them.

hope you understand what I'm saying

That's what I was waiting for! A real update from you!

I had a very bad month myself but what you said is completely true. This is when we strive to improve the most because when everything works great we are not concerned to get better.

I even saw you (well, GRY told me that's you, 'cuz I didn't know your FTP SN) at NL25 FR . Why didn't you cbet the K high board? I don't know if you recognized me actually...

IMO you will go through these times and will stand as a winner. I know you will. ;)

Who doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. :)

Best of luck! :)

Thanks! +2 :f_biggrin:

I do. When I say that I've learned I also mean subconsciously, strengthening my emotional and mental stability. But mostly I know very clearly what I've learned from my experiences.

Thanks for the reply!

Btw, for Romanian fox that live in Romania, that law about restricting online poker is now official. Here's a info thread http://ro.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=5536&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=6

On 24 december it will be history, but the poker sites have till/around february 2011 to decide if they will make a contract/headquarters for ".ro" ... so we can play on ".com" with romanian IP and without any penalties till then. We have around 2 months of worldwide poker ahead, to play and build.

Cheers and Good Luck!

Not so fast! That law means FTP has to buy a license in Romania not that we cannot play at .com. They could actually pay the amount of money required, which is ~$100k if I remember correctly and still let Romanians play at .com. Still, afaik if a site has license from EU IT CANNOT BE BANNED IN ROMANIA! Simply because Romania is EU member. Also, it would not require a second license. Ofc, this still sucks big time. This is what happens when someone tries to look good and something they are losers: results are crap!

Looking forward for the updates in the Romanian community.

Hmmm, can't a country like Germany or England just BUY Romania? For real, we are really cheap...

LE: No, my screen name is similar to my real name :f_biggrin:

pe langa aceasta gluma - probabil nereusita , sa postez mesajul pe care am vrut sa il postez de la bun inceput:

pentru romanii interesati de subiect. Nu stiu ce va fi: daca o sa fie ca in franta sau daca o sa fie altfel. Oricum e bine sa fim informati.

Am scris un post very helpful about what we can do. cititi-l si ascultati si podcastul.

How much do you want for it? Have you thought of putting it on ebay?

I like Romania and I think it's great. Don't talk bad about it =)

The only thing that I don't like is the lack of empathy in politicians. They want more money for the country, and that is ok, as long as it goes in the right places, but they don't stop and try to understand how it will affect certain groups of people. (Imagine a politician that never played poker that discusses and sets a law about interdicting online poker. Maybe he will research a bit, but he doesn't have a clue)

SHARKING AROUND

I need to bring back the weekly reviews. They were great, they helped me focus, organize my thoughts and were also good for feedback.

I am reading now through the first pages of my blog and I love what I'm seeing, it brings me back. After I stopped posting graphs and reviews something went wrong, it was like something was missing. I now know what.

This

They were great, they helped me focus, organize my thoughts and were also good for feedback

I'M BACK!

Update to come a bit later. I will also start making this blog more appealing by posting pictures and videos ;)

Being modest is a big thing. Welcoming and accepting criticism and feedback is how you learn and grow. Even if it's from someone with weaker results than yours, he might have bits of information that you need. Thinking you know better than everyone will more often than not be counterproductive. So...

Every feedback and recommendation is welcomed and highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

OK, Starting Update

I ended 2010 badly, november was a losing month (I talked about this in a previous post)[-$2500] and December was breakeven.

-2500 & - a lot of withdrawals brought me to a BR of 700. Now I have BR = 1020 and I'm playing NL25 FR. How come I played so much and have such a small BR? Withdrawals = $9.500

For 12 months that would be like $800/month, which is a decent amount here in Romania. Withdrawing a lot stalled my BR's evolution. So that's a lesson. Now I want to reach NL200, NL400 and accomplish my goal of $10k/month and also $30K BR (my deadline is 30 september 2011). To do this I will keep withdrawals at a minimum.

I'm gonna build strong and fast. I expect to release the $500 midyear bonus from FTP (in one increment) in a few weeks, so that will help boost my BR and advance in limits.

Also I've set up a few guidelines for my BRM:
NL50, BR>1500
NL100, BR>4000
NL200, BR>10.000

I fusioned the goal to have 30K BR and 10K/month, because when i'm gonna accomplish one the other will probably be accomplished too.

Long story short:
*november, december ... bad months
*too many withdrawals stalled my BR
*starting BR=$1020
*now I'm ready to take it to the next level

I know a lot, I have played so many hands and studied intensely for more than a year, but I still consider myself a novice, there are so many things to learn. There's always place for improvement. This is one reason I love poker.

Anyways, first week review will be a weak later (the graph will start with 15.jan).

Cheers and Good Luck!
