i really dont see y u r still playin nl5. i really think your general poker exprience is enough to take on nl25fr, and u have the br from sngs i think.
Yeah thats true mate but this is kind of a side project so im happy grinding up as not to risk my sng roll. Believe me I hate being at NL5 but the stakes don't really matter.
So I did a major grindathone today and lady luck kicked me in the balls 5 buyins down and 4 under EV
I don't really know what is standard in cash so it may well be a standard day. Towards the end I felt my game slipping so I thought it was time to stop for the day.
Towards the end of the day, around the last 2000 hands it felt like fish were never folding to me and they always had it. but I guess thats how it goes in cash. I don't think I played my best today at all but it was good to see what a day of a cash game grinder is like ♦

I have played about another 3000 hands today and lost another 4 buyins.
It is so anoying plus im 6 buyins under EV.
Things I have noted about nl5 it is one of the most aggressive games I have played in. I get check raised on the flop around 30-50% of the time, my opens get 3 bet around 40% of the time. This is the kind of stuff I expect at nl100 and above not the second lowest level.
Also the donk is really popular and if you raise them they shove.
I feel really lost playing cash now, obv my emotions are a bit higher than normal after dropping so many buyins in 2 days. I honestly have no idea how to beat this level. You cant just value bet value bet value bet like everyone tells you to. You will get completely runover by the nl5 fish.
Any advice from anyone who has beat this limit before?
If you get checkraised a lot, check back all your middle strength hands and Cbet just air and strong ones. Then OBV go broke with strong ones (TP good kicker for example if people raise you that much). Be aware of raises by passive players, fold almost everything there.
As for the donks by the fish be careful for their size. Potsize are strong hands usually, small ones are weak draws or pairs. Small donks, than big river bet is usually sign of a monster.
Thanks for that mate, I will start doing that. Hopefully that will improve my play quite a bit
I wasn't feeling the sngs today so I spent about 3 hours working on my cash game, going through leakbuster and then reading up on my leaks. I watched a few videos on the areas I was leaking from and took notes.
Then I hit the rush tables ♦
Played 5k hands and improved my leakbuster score from a D- to a B ♠_cool:
It says I have 4 major leaks and 2 small ones. I am not too worried about the small ones yet as my smaple is still too small but it is a confidence booster to see my score improve as I study. In fact it is more pleasing to see than actually getting results at the table.

I donked off a stack at the beginning of the session and 1 around the 4k mark.
During the downswing from my high I was playing pretty well I think just either running into the nuts when I had the second nuts or getting rivered.
I posted this hand in the review section.
He was a massive fish and I was 90% sure he had KK+
I think my mistake was not overbet shoving the turn?????
