Don't worry man, I haven't given up at all, i'm just swamped with work at the moment. The week just gone and the week coming i'm handing in 6 assignments and sitting 3 exams, so i've not really had much time for poker. However, I will add a small update right now:
The New Year:
Well, looking at my PokerTracker this January I have played a massive 804 hands ♦ I was hoping to cash in big(ish) on the Cash Machine promotion on PartyPoker, but at the moment my workload doesn't seem to be allowing that 
Those 804 hands have seen me lose a few dollars but that's not really a problem.
However, the online world hasn't been my main poker exploits in 2010. I actually went to the casino and played my first live tournament, a £20 buy in on New Years Day. There were about 40 runners and I went out pretty quickly, me and my flatmates went, funnily my flatmate was the first out, 10 minutes in ♦. I lasted longer, a few notable hands include me hitting set over set on the river. Another me losing with a K high straight to the guys A high straight. I seem to be quite good at reading live, a main one being me raising preflop with AQs, getting reraised and me instantly putting him on AK, even though I knew he was ahead I still called. Obviously I lost to his AK but I just wanted to see if I was any good at reading 
My downfall came when i was the one holding AK, shortstacked I pushed all in, got called by J9s which hit a straight :/
Since then I went to another live game, which was a £10 buy in, I played really well in this one, then got dealt KK, pushed this guy all in and, funnily enough another guy flipped over J9s and beat me with the straight I was shortstacked now, I doubled up next hand with AQs, then next hand on BB I hit a flushdraw on the flop, pushed all in and didn't hit, lost to 44 But I played well and judging by this it will only be a matter of time before I make the money
As well as the casino live games, me and my flatmates have been playting house games almost every night, £5 buy in, I won the one tonight for £30 which I was quite happy about. I've come in 2nd or 1st on a few more. We have 5 players in our flat, one is a TOTAL beginner, which makes it almost impossible to play against because you can't get any reads on him, apart from if he reraises he's hit something. An example being the other night when I knew for a fact he had nothing, but he had luckboxed and got deepstacked, I had KJ, it was at the river, I had hit nothing, if I was playing anyone else I would have pushed on the river to force a fold, but I knew he would call. I asked him if he would have called, he said yes and flipped over A4, he would have won it as well ♦ Another of the players thinks he's good, but he isn't good at all really, the other 2 are actually pretty damn good, probably on a par with me in terms of playing. One just gets bored to easily, and starts playing crap hands. The other loves the suited connectors a bit too much 
Anyway, my aims for the month will be to play a bit more, i'm hoping to still hit at least 10k hands this month, after this week I will be able to play a bit again, then after my last exam I will hit the tables hard for a few days before heading off to Neu Chatel ♦ I will update again when I get round to playing again

2010: My Year For Glory:
Although it hasn't gone that well to begin with ♦ So I had a session on Friday right, after I finished my exam and all my coursework was handed in, played for a few hours, and I think I was playing well. Apart from one decision where I underestimated what looked like a blind resteal, by reraising all in with ATo, he wasn't restealing, he had KK ♦. But for the rest of the session, I was pushing in the right places, making the right raises and putting down some tough hands, only problem is I was getting ruined in terms of being outdrawn. I mean AK, I must have had it 7 or 8 times, lost 6 times, won 1 and split pot the other So, with these bad beats I managed to lose a good $18 without realising, which begs the question: Should I introduce a stop loss limit?
Now, I wasn't tilted from this loss because I played well, but should I just stop playing when I lose this much? That's 9 buyins at my level.
Now, I couldn't play Friday night, as I was out getting drunk, and I couldn't play on Saturday, because I was feeling the effects of going out and getting drunk ♦ So I played yesterday, another longish session, which started off incredibly well, with me winning a good $14, before losing the majority of this and ending up only about $2 up overall
Although I have figured out at the moment i'm earning about 20% rakeback with the Cash Machine promo, my measly bonus, and my current rakeback, so that's good I'll be playing quite a lot today so I might update in a bit.

Okay, finally an update is heading this blogs way. It's been too long since i've been able to play poker properly, now i've finished with my exams and assignments for a while i've been able to fit a few sessions in. Unfortunately, the majority of them didn't go my way at all. In fact, I managed to lose a good $30 in January, before today that is, when I clawed back a nice $10 :). So, at the moment i'm standing on about $50 at Party, but i've made a decision. Once i've cleared this bonus, and cashed out on the cash machine promo ♦ I'm going to switch platforms, as well as switching to BSS
So, i've got a question to ask anyone reading this, which site would you recommend switching to? FTP or Stars?

i would say if you want to start BSS ftp would be my vote as they just increased buy in minimum so no more shortstackers, but on the other hand if you think you will still like to play the occasional sss this wont be possible at ftp and you should pick stars.
so it depends if you want to completly eliminate playing sss or occasional want to play sss. hope this helps
Hmmm, I don't actually know, i'll have to give a tihnk about that one Thanks anyway. Also, could you give me some insight as to which site is more profitable with regards to loyalty bonuses for micro stakes players as well as which site is fishiest ♦
I've carried on playing today, up a nice $16 today and i'm slowly recovering my losses for January
not much experience at stars so cant say how fishy it is but ftp is still very fishy at the micro's.
As for rakeback at ftp i would prefer them to stars while playing micro's because at stars the bonuses only become good for rakeback with the higher bonuses which are hard to earn at the micro's, where as ftp it is consitently 27% rakeback. hope this helps

i'd have to say bodog poker with an affiliate rakeback of 25% and a 100% monthly reload bonus which is very easy to clear. too bad its not tracked here on PS
Thank you both for the insight, dwyt84, thanks for the info, I will probably use this site later on in my career (As if I can call it a career haha) but right now whilst i'm on the micros I want a high traffic site so I always have tables to choose from FTP does seem like the way to go so once I reach a big enough BR to hit NL4 BSS I will move there, I tihnk for NL4 and NL10 BSS I can use a more aggressive BRM as I know I can beat these limits pretty consistently, and I have done alright at BSS at NL4 previously. SO i'm going to say once I hit $100 I will move to FTP and play NL4 full stacked
I just started reading Harrington on Cash Games Vol 1 today, to help me get back in the loop regarding playing Full Stacked, as well as give me more insights as a whole. It's a brilliant book so far, and i'm having fun reading it It's helping me get to grips with hand reading and helping me calculate pot odds and estimate implied odds better and faster as well, so it's all good. I'm currently up $16 for the day, which isn't bad at all ♠_cool: I will be playing more later on today and may update before I go to bed.

So, here I am, sitting in my Mum's friend's very nice flat in NeuChatel, Switzerland. We had to embark on our mission to the airport at 4am this morning, terrible time for getting up ♦ By 10am local time we were touching down in Geneva airport and by midday we were in the flat I've been having a wander around, very nice little town and i'm loving it so far, only problem is I speak absolutely no French 
But, back to business, my poker plans have been moved forward, mainly due to the hype that is Rush Poker. I found $16 in my FTP account the other night, and decided I would have a bit of fun with this money, so I put $10 in an NL10 Rush tables, quickly trebled that up, after a few sessions through a few days I lost a few stacks, won a few stacks and my roll at FTP is standing at $46. That, along with my $60ish roll at Party, is what I have deemed a perfectly fine amount for me to start BSS NL10 with :). I'm going to wait until I have cleared this small bonus at Party, and I might even stick around for the new promo, Hit and Run, for February, playing BSS there. Because I still need to decide whether i'm moving to FTP or Stars, I need to email support and see if I can get my FTP account tracked by PS so I can get Strategy points as well as rakeback.

might of misread but that is reli bad BRM if you are going to playing bss nl10 with $100, specialy if you will be playing rush poker which has big swings.

I'm starting playing NL4 with that $100. I have been playing NL10 on RUsh Poker just for fun, but with my BR i'm going to be NL4'ing it haha.
Bad Times Indeed
Well, February has been horrible to me so far, not just on the poker table, but in life as well. We'll start off with the stuff outside of the poker world, well, the online poker world. First of all to kick things off i've been ill all week with either tonsilitis or flu, and missed my whole week of University. Secondly my gambling games with my flatmates have been going badly ♦ Lost £30 in Blackjack to a friend, all the live poker games we've played i've been sucked out on or just been card dead the whole time. I think we figured out that in 3 live games of poker I won 2 hands, and even then I only won blinds in one of them 
Now, in the online poker world. Dreadful. I've lost the majority of my Bankroll and i'm down to SSS'ing NL4 now Here's how it happened:
- I did well for a few days, hit $90 on Party and $40 on Full Tilt, so decided to give SSS on NL25 a go. It went terribly, I wasn't playing badly at all, I was just getting sucked out on, or running into monsters.
- Went back down to NL10, continued running terribly.
- Eventually had to move down to NL4 yesterday when my Bankroll hit a lowly $35 on Party Although technically I could carry on SSS NL10 with $30 in Party and $30 in Full Tilt I think i'll stick with NL4 for a shortwhile to fight through this swing.
So yeah, i've lost a massive $50 in February And there aren't many signs of it looking up. In my last session I played 500 hands, losing $0.23, it would've been $5 or so if it wasn't for a nice double up off a complete fish at the end.
So things aren't at their brightest at the moment, I think I just need to fight through it at NL4 until I feel the variance is shining my way again.
