Once i lose 21 SnG's in a row. This is unlucky and on 3$ Sng i lose 120$ in one day . That was bad day :) I wish you luck in game :)

Hi there.
I had a bad strike too at Double or Nothing 1.15$ SNG's.
I think I lost 3 in a row or smthng like that.
Also I played some 1.1 and 2.2 tournaments but not very lucky got busted before the bubble.
I remember that I had to fold AA once, I was early position, about 2500 stack, 250/500, I raised preflop to 1000, got called, the the flop came 6 7 8 suited, not my suit, I checked, he checked, then a 9 appeared and I got raised to my ALL IN...I folded.

So at some moment I had about 8.7$.
I entered a 0.01/0.02 cash table with 1$ and after a very good read raise I succeded to leave the table with 3$.

Now my bankroll is at 13, I played last night a 2.2$ 4000$ tournament, I played really good and got pretty good hands too, when the bubble came at 540 players left I had about 10000 chips stack and the average was about 30000, I waited for some good cards to raise or to call but I didn't strike anything so finally I went ALL IN with 3000 with A Js agains A K and got busted.
I got 5.1$ for the 470th place or something like that, maybe from now on I will play more aggresively after I reach the money because this is the only way to reach the first 100 if you don't get some great hands.
I'm pretty happy for now, hope to reach the 15$ and the the 20$ barrier, it would be great, taking into account that I started from 2$ gift from pokerstars.

Can you please mention somethng about the rake you get for playing 1.15 SNGs ?

don't know what hand you mean. i posted more then one.

Anyway.. im quitting the blog since almost no one reads it anyway. I've made some stupid mistakes, some bad luck not cashing in a single tournament. and my bankroll was down to $7,50 yesterday.

i finaly decide to move back down to the $0,25 45man/90man sng.

i never tried the 90 so i join 2 of those, 2 with 45 players. i quickly bust in 3 of them. Add 2 more with 45 players and bust again once.

i busted 4 in a row losing another $1 but i know that's how they go. you lose 5 in a row and then win one in MT SNG. after a while i reach the final table as a bigstack for once. Blindstealing alot, being very aggressive. and its headsup by busting the person in third place it was 30k vs 30k chips. I bluff and semi bluff him the whole time and when he finally pushed it i had a hand and won it.

the other 90 player sng was just horrible. the blinds raised incredibly slow, at lvl 10 blinds in a normal sng it would be 800 BB, in this tournament it was only 200. when i finaly reached the final table after about 2 and a half hours, the blinds were still only 1200 instead of 16k in normal SnG. Unfortunately i only got one good hand/ a hand i would play in about the last 80 hands. with A-K a flop that didn't hit anyone two players went all in. I say: Nice pairs and muck it and them showing 99 and QQ.

Unfortunately after 3 hours i bust 6th place. 3HOURS!! and leave the table with $1 profit.. i was down to about 4BB. i had only played 1 hand during the last 80 hands and went down from 20k to 7k. (i was seriously only getting 10-7, 4-6, 2-8 the whole time with maybe a K-9 or A-8 once or twice)
i had a k-5 in BB. a 5 comes on the turn with the flop 4-7-6. I shove all in and he shows a 6. The worst card for me on the turn was that 5.

So my Br is currently $10,65 im going to keep playing poker till i reach $50 or $100 and then do the $1 MT sng since that's really what i have the most experience in. I think playing the ST sng was a big mistake now and that i shouldnt have given up on the $1 MT sng so quickly.

The reason im really quitting this is that no one wants to read about someone winning $5 in a day. so till i reach a decent bankroll again im giving up on the blog.

"Can you please mention somethng about the rake you get for playing 1.15 SNGs ? "

im not sure what answer you want but obviously the rake is very high. by playing the $1+0,20 sng i got to 120 FPP quickly while playing in $0,01/0,02 i wasn't even getting 1 FPP a day. (maybe 1 but not much more). The rake is simply horrible and it's hard to make profit when 20% of the buy in is rake. I'm just hoping i will be able to make profit when im playing them again.

Yesterday i finally got my new ipod so i can listen to my music again since my previous ipod drowned in the sea when i was on vacation.

Music + Poker turned out to be very +EV

Alot more concentrated, didn't get bored, i didn't tilt either despite busting in 5 S&G in a row while i had the best hand everytime i went all in on the flop. The other 2 busts were somewhat my fault, short stacked not getting hands i pushed with good hands but i didn't manage to get lucky.

It's funny because i probably played one the best sessions so far while i only managed to cash in 1 of the 8 sng and even lost a little money. So im very happy with how i played today, unfortunately i didn't have much luck today.

I completely dominated the final table once i reached, i quickly doubled up 3 times and went from short stack to big stack by bluffing and blind stealing. Picking the right spot, semi-bluffing. Making reallly good reads.

I'm especially happy with my folds. folding A-Q preflop, pairs with top kicker and even two pair while the only hand that would beat me was a flush or a set. I was right everytime but once. Where i folded my A-10 and had made a pair on the flop. there was A-Q-J and some low cards on the board , and 3 hearts and vs more then one person i didn't think my A-10 was any good so i folded on the river to see the best hand was A-7.

It's like with music all the things i read in the articles i use in how i play. (not sure how to say what i meant, but i think its clear). I did almost bust on the final table early on after i had doubled up a few times going from a 3k to 10k stack. I had JJ, flop comes K and J-6 of clubs. he raises 1k, i reraise to 3k so he would fold if he had a flush draw. he reraises all in, i call and he shows KK. So that was probably the worst flop for me. i barely survive with 1500 chips, almost being the bubble boy. and still managed to end 3rth winning $1,85 only losing $0,15 today. It was A-K vs QQ, but unfortunately i didn't get lucky.

One thing i used to do wrong was after someone called a bluff or a blind steal and i ended up losing the pot. I went in tight mode and stopped being aggressive(and by doing that getting blind stealed and bluffed alot myself). This time though i continued blind stealing and bluffing and it payed off. I was the Big stack bullie while not ever being the chipleader.

And im more consistent with my bets now. i sometimes used to bet a few BB more when i had a good hand, and people will fold quicker because then they actualy put you on a good hand. its better to always 3bet/4bet when blind stealing so you keep them guessing if you have a hand or not.

Thinking positive really helps, and when i lose or bust by getting sucked out. i tell myself i made the right decision instead of going on tilt. or say "stop-think" when im thinking negative which i read in one of the psychology articles.

almost forgot. There are alot of Donkey's and fish ofcourse. But that didn't help today. getting my all in called by A high or K high even seeing ppl go all in with about 20 BB preflop with 5-10. and who probably then think after busting "i never get lucky, that *other person* did win when going all in with that hand". So donkey's are great.. but when you keep busting because they suck you out with a hand they shouldn't even have played in the first place is definetly annoying. its really surprising how many donkey's there are, the bad thing is. You never know what hand they have, i've seen from 5-10 To AA all in's preflop so it's hard to read players you haven't played some hands with.

It hasn't gone to good so far. i only regret waiting to long too go all in on one of those tables. i only had 3 BB left, by the time i was BB i was forced to go all in and it was K-5 vs AA

on the other table im extremely happy with my fold. i had A-K, he had K-Q. board was K-Q-10. He bets 400 which was about 35% of my stack. although i got top pair and kicker i had a feeling he had me beat, i decided to call and see if the turn is any help since i just cant fold it yet.

5 on the turn he puts me all in.
I say: A-J ? K-Q?
him: Only one way to find out
me: I bet you have K-Q

and i folded it and he showed me K-Q _mad:

i had 5BB left and pushed with 77 a few hands later vs A-K. unfortunately a King came on the river. <- ouch

Going to try to play all day today, doesn't matter if i lose money or win. But my luck hasn't been too good so far.

Results first session today: $0,25 45player S&G

2 Tables left, going good so far. im about breakeven so far :( Should get my headphones soon.

I got second place. i was against a tough opponent, at first i was blind stealing the whole time at the final table. but at the headsup he started to get aggressive. He was either running extremely good or was bluffing me alot. im not so sure if i should have gone all in with a Q-J suited with 10 BB left but oh well. I didn't get lucky and busted. Im happy im up $3 today, but i feel like i could have earned alot more if i didn't lose most of the coinflips.

AAAH second place again -.- i will post the last hand. i did get "lucky" (<- winning a few coinflips) a few times since i had about 3 BB left when it was 7 people left. Really annoying to not win, he wasn't even a good player. On the other hand i increased my bankroll by 50% today so i can't really complain either.

This was the last hand.

The reason i didn't go all in on the flop was because he was bluffing and reraising with nothing or a bad hand alot. So i didn't think he would call in the first place because i knew i had him beat.

My headphones came _biggrin: Im going to eat and take a little break, and then i might continue playing. i've already played for 3,5 hours today though.

Im playing again, i quickly busted on one of them when a donkey and a fish kept calling my bets and then the donkey makes a fullhouse (hitting a 2 outer) on the river and me making a flush with my A-Q suited..

still playing on the last table, i lost 6 all-ins in a row and i wasn't dominated even once. When i went all in twice i did also win, playing with 5 players for a while now and it seems everytime someone is all in he wins the hand. there were more then 10 all ins with no busts already..

Someone finaly busted, and shortly after i also busted someone. so 3 players left, i hope i can get first place this time i definetly deserve it after losing so many all ins -.-

AAAH heads up and im second again. Some very sick hands, he simply got lucky. Not much to say, i really wanted to get 1st after being second twice already. He was a maniac, first folding alot of hands and then going all in with pretty much everything. I'll post some hands

Flops that look good, aren't always good

KK with 3 BB left, Does it get better then that?

I can get "lucky" too

One of the sickest hands i've ever seen, you got to watch this one

2 all ins of the heads up
http://www.pokerhandreplays.com/view.php/id/1027528
Now.. you will understand what i meant by playing against a maniac..

A-2 is like AA against a maniac _mad:

Well, that was it. it didn't go to well the first 5 SNG quickly busting in most of them. But in the end i managed to still make profit. I hate finishing 2nd 3 times since i think im pretty good in heads up play unfortunately i didn't get lucky when i needed it. I had some really nasty bad beats today, losing to a 2 outer twice on the river annd busting.

but i still managed to increase my bankroll by 63% today _cool:

i like your blog...read it all!!!keep it up and i will keep reading..today i dont have much time but tomz i will definitly put some of my experiences here..
good luck in game

Hello Hahaownedlolz :) was about to post my first blog here so decided to take a look at some others first.

sorry havent read everything yet but want to suggest you something. Ever tryed those $0.10 360man TURBO sng's at PS? I havent quite followed the bankroll management rules with my money at pokerstars (not it was not the $50 starting capital if anyone cares.. it was my own money), so one day *POOF* - it went missing :f_cry: oh well.

Was left with $0.30 so those $0.10 were my only option. And I found them to be quite easy! Players do not really care about $0.10 so they are dropping like flies. If you take it seriously it's not hard to keep afloat till you get ITM. I manage finish ITM roughly 1 in every 3 attempts - I am sure you should be able to do at least that "good", if not better.

Just a thought.. :)

thanks for reading

Bigger tournaments require more luck and im not a big fan of turbo's either. but my bankroll is currently $15 so i'd rather play the 45man sng with $0,25. they are quite easy but they do they do take about 1,5-2 hours (if you finish first that is)

i've already played probably over a 100 of them, and over a 100 $1 ST SnG. So i'd rather do these :) my plan is to get $100 by playing these in a month. and then do the 27/45 player $1 +$0,20 SNG. but since the rake is so high it's hard to earn money thats why im going to get an even bigger bankroll to play them this time.

If you have $5+ i would really suggest trying them.

It's going good so far today. registered in 5 so far. busted in one of them and playing on the other 4.

playing on 3 final tables and almost on 4 since the other one has 13 players left. So if it goes well i will be able to reach $20 after these SNG.

and the bad luck started.. suck out after suckout, donkey's getting lucky and me losing about every hand im all in.

im incredibly dissapointed. its hard to tell urself you did the right thing when the results are horrible. i expected to have $20 atleast.. but i barely breaked even.

First session today: SNG 45 player $0,25

games played: 5
bust before cash: 3
final tables: 4

1st: 0
2nd: 0
3rd: 0
4th: 1
7th: 1
8th: 1 :f_cry:
9th: 1 :f_cry:

as you can see.. bubble boy, almost bubble boy and barely cashing. the last one went good till a donkey sucked out on me on the river. I really hate it, since im a better player then those i was playing against. but they just keep sucking out and overplaying their hands. i wasn't getting any hands either when i was shortstacked. and the only way i was winning chips was basicaly blind stealing and bluffing.

I'm not sure if im going to play more today. it's just brutal to reach the final table on all 4 of them and then barely make a profit. while my profits could have easily been more then $4.

When i did finaly get a hand..
and again..

i was a bit on tilt and kept showing my bluffs playing agressive, So when i did finaly get a hand i could easily double up..

and then i see donkey's going all in 3-4 times and winning.. and i bust everytime..

Bankroll: $17,85

First session today: SNG 45 player $0,25

games played: 8
bust before cash: 6
final tables: 3

1st: 0
2nd: 1
3rd: 0
4th: 1
8th: 1 :f_cry:
10th: 1 :f_cry:

i made profit but im definetly not happy with the results because i got sucked out almost everytime i busted. and losing another heads up.. im very agressive heads up and people keep hitting their hands when i bluff. I'm a bit to agressive at the final table i think. and i worked on that on the other one where i cashed. it went well but a donkey doubled up twice through me by getting lucky and suddenly i was short stack with 5bb. holding 66. Chipleader 3bets preflop i shove anyway thinking i have atleast 50% chance to win. he shows 4-5. 5 on the flop and other 5 on the river..

Bankroll: $19,80

So i didn't reach $20 X( but im playing in the $1000 free roll again today and im playing in the $1,10 + $1000 added tournament too. so if i manage to cash in one of them i will reach $20.

The prize pool is almost $1900 and first prize is $350. although i haven't managed to cash in it even once and its horrible bankroll management. the tournament is just way too good to not play since even only cashing i would win back 5 times my BI.

My second Deep Run in the $1000 Freeroll

I have 10 BB left and shove with JJ. and..

right after that very sick hand i pick up A-K and decide to make a move against one of the chipleaders

I make a blind steal raising it to 3BB with 4-4. i get raised all in and call since it was only the same amount i already had in the pot more. he has K-J they dont come on the board and i got a 10k stack! slightly above the average.
770 players left and 500 to cash, but the blinds are so high it goes fast. 400/800 atm.

The blubble bursted and i won $0,50 so far which is half the buy-in. in the other tournament i haven't picked up a single hand yet.

I just pushed all in with K-J suited preflop with 3BB left

i just busted again in the $1,10 tournament.. idk what it is.. i always do bad in it.. i ran into AA with A-10 suited..

I call an all-in shortly after

I try a blind steal, which is almost half my stack..

The blinds are now 1,5k/3k, with the average stack 25k. so im below chip average while i just doubled up a few times. Told you the blinds raised insanely quick.. im quite happy with my 20k stack though. 251 players left

one player at my table is in the top 10. hes running extremely good. so im being careful.

213 players left! so i just reached my goal, now i dont lose any cash on the 2 tournaments. Can i reach the final table again ?

10-k suited, 3bb left. in the sb. im getting flashbacks from the last final table where i busted with the same hand chipleader in the pot and i decide to play it safe and make the call

with 35k im still below chip average of 53k. thats only 10 BB, so in theory about everyone is in push/fold phase. 130 players left!
i pick up AA, and shove it all in

25k chips left. 7k bb.. and i folded A-5.. it just didn't feel right

I get K-J suited and i shove it all in

Shortly after i pick up A-3 suited and shove it all in again

I pick up A-K i shove all in and double up again

i pick up A-10 and shove it again lol. Do you now understand what i meant with you have to get very luck to get far?

7 tables left and the chipleader just joined my table. (Thank you pokerstars!!). He's been running extremely good and has probably not lost a hand yet with his rediculous amount of luck.

I see him call an all in with Q-5 other person Q-9. he hits the 5 on the flop and i think "damn hes lucky".

Im shortstacked, and i see A-K. the chipleader called the BB and i just know he would call my all in with any two cards. but since he called he probably has a semi-good hand. I think about it, what can he have? im thinking probably ace rag. Do i really want to do this though, i have a bad feeling about it. I'm sure he will just suck me out.

I tell myself i can't possibly fold A-K when i have about 4 BB left no matter Who im playing against.

I bust in 35th place, a little dissapointed to get this far and not reach the final table again. But im still happy of this pretty amazing acomplishment.

It's really late here but i started thinking. grinding these $0,25 has been fairly useless

:spade: Takes almost 2 hours to finish one S&G
:spade: It's hard to not get sucked out to the final table
:spade: So many donkey's and fish that make you mad
:spade: I'm not learning anything from this
:spade: I'm grinding for hours with little to no profit.

So why am i grinding a limit that's so easy to beat for me yet takes ages to move up to the second limit since the buy ins are almost 5 times higher including the rake.

Then i saw the battle of the planets promotion. its now doubled this week since they gave out 5 Million in prizes already. So during this celebration, you get double more when finishing in a leaderboard plus if you break a record in my league you get $1500!!! ofcourse.. it would be extremely hard to beat it, but just the thought of my bankroll being that size makes me happy.

But with only 16 buy-ins to the $1 sng, does not allow me to get a downswing since then i would bust my whole bankroll. what did i decide to do?

:spade: Single table-ing 27 player $1+$0,20 SNG.
:spade: By doing that im learning more.
:spade: I'm watching how people play, making notes about them.
:spade: By doing that i make (even) better reads.

So with that in mind i started the first one. it went well, running good. i reached the final table and eventualy busted in second place!! It was a tough opponent to play against, he kept reraising and bluffing so it was very hard to steal chips when i only had 10-13 BB. he had me covered 2 to 1, and eventualy he got lucky by winning with 3-3 vs my 8-8.

anyway, i won $7,20 in i think 1,5 hours while learning to play better. That amout of money would take me a whole day of grinding the $0,25 sng. I know its a bit dangerous but im confident that i can beat this level 1 tabeling and when it keeps going good i will add a table. I'm verry happy with the result, and i did get good hands but i didn't win by getting lucky on the river even once.

Bankroll: $27,70

p.s. I increased my bankroll by 64% today!

I couldn't sleep so i decided to wake up, took a shower had breakfast and here i am :) its 9 am atm. i went to bed way to late but oh well. im not tired at all, so the grinding begins :) if i had $35-40 at the end of today i would be really happy.

i'm also using trial version of PT3 so expect some graphs comming soon! (not really because i want to get a decent amount first, and since im 1 table-ing that will take a while) turns out i already have 7k hands played this month so the graph is below

75000 players but none wanting to play 27 player $1 sng's -.- waiting for like 5mins and only 2 ppl more registered.. i really felt like playing poker, and idk how it can be this slow because usualy the traffic is maybe 2 times higher but it fills up 10 times quicker then it is now..

been trying to get tournament results into pokertracker 3. but its horrible and annoying and frustrating so if it doesn't work when i try it again i give up. (have to wait because i sent to many requests to ps)

anyway.. i got my cash game graph and that might explain why i lost a bit of money in the end.. guess i have a reason to complain about bad luck. What also is funny is i have lost $10 by playing A-K and A-Q, and i've won money with playing K-Q/J/10.

I decided to play some NL2 sh for fun. i won 2,5BI so thats good. but i'm going to stick to my plan of playing the $1 S&G this week and try to get in the TLB to get some free $$.

Bankroll: $28,40

Been running extremely bad, just can't seem to catch a break and then see donkey's moving all in with a 6-8 and winning.. everytime there is a good spot to go all in there was someone with a higher pp or trips or got lucky on the river..

bad luck..

and more bad luck...

and even more bad luck..

i've played 6 $1+$0,20 today and as you can see.. everytime i go all in i get called by one of the few hands that would beat mine. This really just crushed me, trying to play my best and then i can't ever catch a break while i see donkey's the whole time doubling up with horrible hands.

i'm not sure what im going to do now. i might move back down to the $0,25 or grind cash games which seems the best to me atm because its easier to track stats to see how i am doing.

Bankroll: $23,56

I decided to play some SH NL and see if i could get lucky there and i did. i had a massive upswing to $30!!! in around 200 hands. double up after double up, i will be honest and say i simply got good cards and lucky.

Although after i got sucked out on the river in 1 hand i went on tilt for some reason. idk what it was, i've been handling suck outs incredibly well lately. i shoved a few times, playing very agressive. unfortunately i got sucked out although i had pretty good odds to win/steal the pots.

So i lost about 3BI by going on tilt. it might be because i haven't slept today, and am quite tired. im taking a definite break from SNG's the only ones i can really make profit on are the $0,25, Ofcourse i had alot of bad luck today. But with my bankroll i simply can't afford to play them and get sucked out.

and since cash games have gone pretty well im going to grind those.

Goals:
:spade: play 1-2k NL SH hands tomorrow (only played 2k total so far)
:spade: grind up to NL5

Bankroll: $27,14

i've only played 300 hands so far today. I'm playing around a bit with the HUD stats and how to use them. made some good bluffs, and alot of them went horrible. I'm a bit to agressive maybe, but its NL SH so you have to be agressive.

anyway small profit, i think im happy with how the hud stats are now and will try to take advantage of them more. Till so far they have only been distracting. all the money i won so far has been with non-showdown winnings so thats pretty funny too. i would actualy have +% showdown winnings if it wasn't for all those nasty bad beats i had during some of the first sessions.

and the bad luck starts again.. lost 6BI in 172 hands what's worse is.. i finally got the right stats with the HUD. extremely easy to see the fish, them playing 60-70% of the hands and are often calling stations. But i simply couldn't get good hands, the average-good hands i did get never hit on the flop. the fish often folded against 3 bets so i tried to slow play and trap them and then hands like 77 get cracked by 8-2 on a board that you would want to see with my hand.. anyway.. here are the lifetime graphs. from 2087 hands is today..

Very nice and interesting graphs, I wish I could have the time and passion to do something similary.
For now I'm happy if I can play 10 hours/week and make some posts here in my blog.
I guess I should have started playing when I was in college and I has lots of time that I wasted by doing nothing!

after that downswing on tuesday i had a very good session that night and my bankroll was 30,34 (was up $7 that session)

Then yesterday morning i played another 200 hands and my bankroll was $33

Since then it has been going downhill.

Donkey's call Half pot size bet's with flushdraws and gutshotstraight draws and then hit them everytime.

i'm not hitting any draws i play.

ugh.. it's so frustrating.. i don't even want to talk about bad beats. But this is so sick.. so after a horrible session in the afternoon today. i start playing again feeling confident, and then my AA get cracked by QQ and donkey's keep getting lucky again. i will post the grahs.. my bankroll is crippled atm..

i wasn't focused earlier, but my reads are starting to get good again.. but my non-sd winnings are still negative.

It's hard to tell myself i'm playing good since im still new to cash games.. i really don't know anymore. i keep trying to stay motivated, keep trying to say it's just bad luck.. but when the 10th donkey hit their draw on the river with cards he:

1 shouldn't have called my preflop raise with.
2 should have given up when i bet on the flop and the turn.

ahwell.. i'm going to study alot tomorrow.. maybe that will help a bit..

looking at your chart, with your very high non showdown winnings and very low winnings at showdown I think you bluff all the time, you should rarely bluff at the low limits.

Hope this helps you

i am very agressive that's true.

i just can't fold a hand when i know if i bet he would give it up. I can read people pretty well.

idk.. i could not bluff at all but my showdown winnings are horrible..

I'm not bluffing calling stations anymore just tight people. idk.. i love to bluff tbh with you.

don't really know what to say atm.. my spirit is really crushed atm
