By bluffing all the time it makes it so easy to play against you, you will get value towned all the time like you have been.
Players at the lower limits do not fold. I dont want to be rude but you will never beat the lower limits playing as you are.

As another poster said you have a vip of over 50! No poker playing in the world can show consitant profits playing that many hands and that is a fact.

For low limits you should play TAG and nothing else.
Play tight and make big value bets
Dont bluff...except a few c-bets

in NL2 SH if you play very tight your preflop bets never get called so it can't play like that

and my VIP is rarely over 50. it has been between 20-40 mostly depending on the cards i get.

it was over 50 maybe a few times.

I might switch to FR i guess and play TAG. im considering it..

i've been running very bad lately. and the reason for my losses is not because i bluff alot. it's cause donkey's can't lay down their flush or OESD or even their gutshot straight draw on the turn and then the hit it on the river.
in the top 10 hands i lost most in earlier today. 5 of them were exactly that case scenario while the had a 20% chance to win at most, they won nearly everytime.

This is simply not true, If you have a vip of over 28 I will say you will struggle unless you are a very very good player. From what I have read you have a style like the "Maniac" and these players win lots of small pots and lose the big ones, hence your graph.

I am not trying to put you down but give you good advice. But in the end it is down to you to realise that the way you play is just not going to be profitable.

read the infomation that is avalible and watch some videos, do you see any instructors playing loose and bluffing all the time?

Good luck

ehh..

not sure what to say. i've only played 4k hands so far and from what i've seen rocks only got called by the worst players with VIP over 60. and only a few times too. when i had a vip of 20 my bets preflop almost never got called.

so you can't say it isn't true, but at the tables i've played it is.

There's no real point in discussing really with you. Your a 100% sure your right and it doesn't matter what i say.

I dont play like a maniac, and i do win big pots.

i just checked my overal vip and its 32.17.

ahwell.. and i get what you say by playing like a maniac

when i see very agressive players they remind me of myself

The difference? i know when to be agressive

hello again Hahaownedlolz

it was a pleasure to start reading your blog (the posts since my last reply) and to see that you started to roll uphill at one point. However, you do seem to get very upset about the suckouts. I'm not telling you shouldn't, but the very bottom line at low limits is the incredibly bad plays done by donks. It's never going to change. I took my starting capital to Cake Poker and let me tell you.. it's beyond my worst expetations. I'll post couple screenshots in my own blog after I finish this reply.. please stop by and check them out - I guarantee that you'll be blown away.

Anyways. What I wanted to say is that I admire your good attitude and determination. You have what those donks dont and it's exactly what will let you improve your game, while donks will remain exactly where they are.

You're analysing your game. You admit that you like to bluff. And I think you do realize, that bluffing a donk is rarely an option. It's just not the way to play at low limits and you began understanding why. Of course there are many styles for playing poker but when it comes to the lowest limits, I question whether it is a good idea to learn the game by playing aggressively... but that's only my opinion, at the end of things.

anyway during the first session today there was this guy who was a true maniac

with
vip: 92 and pr:92

it was hard to play against him because he would just reraise you all in. so i had to make a few tough laydowns.

he was trash talking to me the whole time, trying to make me tilt.

"YOU SUCK"
" I OWNED YOU" (while an other person won the pot and he lost it too..)
"ILL TEACH YA KID"

repeat about a 100 times.

after a while i noticed he was getting less agressive, trying to make us believe he was still playing like a maniac so we would pay him off when he did hit his hand.

unfortunately in this hand i didn't only did the opposite of what my gut feeling was telling me, i was also doing doing the opposite of what common sense told me.. he made his straight.. but i just didn't want to believe he got that lucky.

SB shows a straight, six high(K:s 3:d).

SB wins with a straight, six high(K:s 3:d).

Ouch.. almost went on tilt there. I know strategy articles tell you not to go after a person when you lost a big pot. and i didn't i simply waited.. and waited for my chance. and i was just going to wait till he was the one who would get unlucky.

i hit my set on the flop. i knew he would call simply because we had already played lots of pots and in the end he always made a donk size betting trying to bluff me out of the hand and it worked most of the time.

I bet over half the pot size.

a 6 comes on the turn im thinking he has a flush draw most likely and if another club comes i will have to lay it down.

another 6 of club comes and i think it over.. i knew he completed his flush but i made a fullhouse with that 6.

potsize bet? he might just only call it
i push it all in and get payed off

i say: HAHA OWNED LOL

and he left the table and went playing PL25 omaha.

This is just not true you will get called you dont have to play like a nit, maybe over small samples due to card varience your raises dont get called...big deal

There's no real point in discussing really with you. Your a 100% sure your right and it doesn't matter what i say.

Well It doesnt make any difference to me but you are clearly not beating the limit and I am telling you why. I dont care if you like it or not, I tried to help but you have to want the help. I have alot of experience and have played NL2-NL400 so I know what I am talking about.

I dont play like a maniac, and i do win big pots.

i just checked my overal vip and its 32.17.

Well I am sure you know that this is far too high and I repeat you will find it very hard to consistantly beat NL2 playing like that.

ahwell.. and i get what you say by playing like a maniac

when i see very agressive players they remind me of myself

The difference? i know when to be agressive

Well this clearly not the case or your graphs would be very different.

It is clear that you do not want help you just want to play how you play but dont moan when you cant even beat NL2.

You need help, I gave you some solid advice and you dont want it, these are the signs of a consistant loser, everyone needs help and everyone continues to learn but if you dont then you get left at the door.

Think about it

my point is enhanced by you posting that you called a min raise in the BB with J6o

if he has a vip of 92 and pr of 92 i think my J-6 is probably good. and since i already have $0,02 in the pot why not call and see if i get lucky. his hand range was pretty much everything.

anyway i do want advice and help, just feels like your saying everything i do is wrong. and this is not NL2 its NL2 SH there's a difference you know.

in all the big pots i lost most of them were from people hitting their OESD or gutshot straight draw or flush on the river every single time. not from bluffing people although i did obviously lose a few pots by making a bad read.

anyway, i played another session yesterday.
QQ vs AA, 99 vs 44 lost them. while i lost AA vs QQ earlier yesterday.

and the QQ vs AA wasn't against a tight player because i would never have called that. the person had a vip of 60 so i didn't put him on AA.

Also funny that i lost the most money by playing AKo and AQo.

" play tighter, don't bluff " is what your basically suggesting. Im convinced my bluffs are profitable to be honest with you. Wouldn't my non-sd winnigs else be negative? atleast they were profitable when i started, I haven't been as focused the last few day's as when i started.

look at this for example

$0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]SB$2.00:///////;BB$2.64:///////;MP3$1.62:///////;CO$2.19:///////;BU(Hero)$1.97:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BU with K:s, J:s.
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.06, SB folds, BB calls $0.04.

Flop: ($0.13) 2:h, Q:s, Q:c (2 players)
BB bets $0.10, Hero calls $0.10.

Turn: ($0.33) A:d (2 players)
BB bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.30, BB folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $0.43.

Does this make any fucking sense? nope
Would a tight player who plays ABC poker ever understand this? nope

Yet i just knew he was bluffing me out of the pot. I reraise and my gut feeling is right for the 100th time.

Why is it so hard for you to believe i can make good reads? i could easily give you another 100 examples in those 3.7k hands i played.

Have you played NL2 SH btw?

Anyway.. my bankroll is at $9,13. so i'm going to continue with buying in for $1 till i'm down to $5 and then go back to the $0,25 45 player SNG where i have always been able to make a steady profit.

Strategy wise.. probably not playing as agressive and will try not to bluff although my gut feeling has rarely been wrong so far. But to save my bankroll It would be better not to take the chance i guess

i was making profit with the exact same type of play in the first 1k hands and it rised pretty steadily. Actualy i even fixed some leaks by not betting agressive enough on a board with draws, but the donkey's keep calling with horrible pot odds and then hit it about everytime. or slowplaying and them hitting their draw. Yet.. im now losing alot of money very quickly.

I'm taking a short break from poker anyway. I'm putting to much pressure on myself too actualy make profits. My dream is to live off of poker winnings but i think i just need to get that out of my head since im still VERY far to accomplish that. But i am motivated enough.

When i get back in a few days when i've read all the bronze strategy articles and some videos. (although i already know i will be seeing ABC poker since as a coach you shouldn't encourage bluffing at my limits since many people will then lose alot of money by making such play's in the wrong situations.)
So it will be hard for me to not bluff when i see an oppurtinity and honestly the last few days i've had horrible luck and imo that's been the main reason for my losses.

im wondering. How can i not even beat the worst players?
Players who started playing poker 5 days ago that's what im losing from. Yet i've played thousands of hands, and can't make a profit.

on the other side i see these donkey's sucking out everytime against me

So yes i am probably going to play FR with my last 4 buy-ins, play extremely tight. not make any moves. and hope i don't get sucked out.

Cya in a few days, i will atleast be playing in the 2 tournaments tomorrow. so i might play again tomorrow but i will see about that tomorrow.

[B]Bankroll: 9,13

yes I have played sh from NL2SH to NL400SH

I am not saying you are wrong in everything you do and in the above example I would have played exactly the same.

All I am trying to say is to beat the low games you have to play tight. I am not doubting your skills as you may well be better than me, I dont know if you are or not.

How do you win at poker? Well you play how the others are not, tight if the play is loose and loose if the play is tight.

I dont mean to put you down just help you beat the micros as I know only too well they can be hard to beat

i don't know why your trying lennonac, though i find it admirable

let's just hope he comes and plays at our limits soon

I dont know why I bother sometimes either.
People always asume they are the best player in the world, if someone gives me some advice I will take it on board, think about if it makes sense and put it to the test.

Seems logical to me

Don't bother then Lennonac. Goodbye.

You act like very small stakes player is exactly the same. and say things i've never sad. Try to critisize me with every single little thing you can.

based on what? a graph and one posted hand against a maniac?

I never said i think i am the best player in the world. just because many low stakes players don't think they make mistakes and just blame it on bad luck doesn't mean i'm the same.

What i needed was a confidence boost. not someone saying that i do everything wrong.

Now in ur second last post you said you didn't mean it like that, but that was sure how it felt.

I just needed to say that, i actualy didn't even want to look back at my blog today because the last thing i needed was to doubt about how i play right before 2 tournaments.

The few days break really did me good. I was just putting to much pressure on myself. And poker stopped being fun. To make 2 tabling not completely boring i played too agressive lately, and bluffing people to make it more fun. I understand what you say now, but you can try to just be more friendly. If you just said. "It's better not to bluff at lower limits because it's easier to play tight and earn money" i wouldn't have gotten mad. I'm not going to read back ur posts to actualy see or how you said things. but it just felt like you were kicking me while i was down.

Now that's out of the way.

My bankroll being down to $9,16. Playing in the $1,10 +$1000 regional tournament was even more horrible bankroll management then last week. plus the fact i didn't manage to cash in it even once in the past it wasn't a very smart decision.

I cash yet another time in the $1000 freeroll though, not getting much farther then the bubble when i ran into AA. only winning $0,60 but free money is free money right.

So i had decided to enter it anyway. i was running quite good. Although i had some very nasty bad beats one of them being AA vs Q-7 3 players before the bubble and losing it when he made a straight on the river.

I eventualy busted in 25th place of 950 or so people entering the tournament. Winning slightly less then $10 im a bit dissapointed to come so close to alot of money and then busting right before the cash starts rising very quickly. a final table would have meant $27, and first place $365. but i can't complain either.

I'm going to update it later, show some hands explain some thoughts. but it ended up with me going all in with K-Q vs A-7 and then losing it on the river to a straight :f_mad: . I hate going all in with K-Q i'd actualy rather have K-10 but i knew the chance was quite big they would fold, and else i still had good odds since i was in last place. Guess i should have listened to my gut feeling.. ah well..

So im very happy my bankroll is outside the danger zone. i've worked up from this amount before so i can do it again.

I'm considering to become a tournament player. Today i've cash in both, last week i also cashed in one of them. but the problem is it wouldn't be that easy to get up the limits with my bankroll.

I'm probably going to give up on cash games again. I'm going to grind the $0,25 like crazy starting tomorrow. And going to try 12 tabling so the $ per hour isn't really horrible. if it goes well i will continue doing that and else move back to 4 tables.

Bankroll: $18,38

(Yes i know that was horrible bankroll management lennonac. And im aware of the fact you need to get lucky in big tournament)

happy to hear what? that i busted? :)) you little fish... you and your kind are the reason of me busting :)) ...

I was not going to say anything about BM, we all break it from time to time and I dont see it as a massive deal, unless you are playing it exclusively, which you are not.

I feel we got off on the wrong foot, good luck in the multitable sng's I have played about 1000 of them myself on stars and they are very soft. Good way to build your bankroll.

Well done in your cashes, seems your tourney play and sitngo play is solid, wish my tourney play was!

Good Luck

@vladd if your going to be an ass on my blog don't expect me to be nice.

@lennonac they are quite easy, but it get's annoying when donkey's keep sucking out.

Well i started the first 12 today.. and i've never run so bad as today.. i just couldn't believe it. losing coinflip after coinflip, when i needed to get lucky i didn't and when i was ahead i got sucked out.

I busted 11 MTT in a row without cashing even once. while i usualy reach the final table about 50% of the time. It wasn't the multitabling, people just kept hitting their 3 outers.

eventualy in the last MTT where i wasn't having bad luck i reached the final table as a big stack, usualy what i then do is be very agressive. Steal blinds and bluff alot. But the downside is the blinds are alot and 1 bluff that gets reraised all in and then you usualy can't fold. Then your usualy behind and lose half your stack.

Although that strategy also often went well. i decided to just play tight, and watch them bust each other. I reached heads up. being behind 51k vs 15k. I wasn't hitting anything and the other guy completely walked over me. I kept having to fold very big pots. I definetly got to work on that. My heads up play is probably not as solid as i was thinking before.

i busted second after what looked like one of the best flops for me.

Hero (BB) (t4985)
SB (t62515)

Hero's M: 2.56

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9 :spade:, Q :spade:
SB calls t600, Hero bets t4910 (All-In), SB calls t3710

Turn: (t9970) 4 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t9970

Results:
SB had 6, K (straight, King high).
Hero had 9, Q (two pair, Queens and nines).
Outcome: SB won t9970

So i ended the day with only a $0,60 loss. I'm not playing more today, i've really had plenty of bad beats. And if i the bad luck continues and i play more i might no be able to resist going on tilt.

Here's a fun hand. He tries to bluff me and i snap call him all in

The thing is.. i dont mind losing a few coinflips and winning some.. I shoved twice with QQ vs Ax and them hitting their only overcard on the flop. when i shoved with A-K vs a pp i didn't get an A or K and busted. I was just losing them all in a row. i even made some final tables but most busts were right before the final table when i needed to double up. i get a hand and then don't get lucky.

Ahwell.. i just hope i have more luck tomorrow. I atleast now it's bad luck since i've beat these several times before.

well.. i decided to play a $0,10 with +$50 added tournament. And after i busted when about half the players were left i went a bit on tilt.. i don't know why but i really got pissed off because i had him dominated preflop and the guy hit two pair on the flop.

i knew he had me beat, yet i didn't want to lay it down. it's hard to read players. because some people just call you down with nothing at all, and some will have very strong hands.

so i was playing the tournament + 3 sng's. i was playing very agressive after i busted in the tournament and it payed off. I wasn't shoving with J-7 or something but i made ALOT of all in reraises with good hands.

i busted in one of them. on the other one i reached the final table and busted 6th place while i was about the third in chips... not much to say. I shoved all in with 66 on a 5-7-8 board. the pot was already about 1/3 of my whole stack so i just pushed because he wouldn't call it anyway i thought. he called my raise preflop so i put him on a strong hand like A-K, A-Q.

unfortunately he had A-7 and i didn't make a set or a straight. im not so sure if that was actualy smart to do. But i don't really feel like it was a bad push either.

and..

I finally won a heads up!!

after losing about 6-7 of them in a row. which cost me alot of $ since the difference between 1st and 2d is about 50% more. I played agressively went all in with the best hand twice. it was pretty much a coinflip but i didn't get unlucky for once. i didn't catch a runner runner or won on the river though.

So it's quite funny how that turned out. Because i was really playing without caring if i would bust or not at all. and then i cash 2/3.

It could also be the fact that it was only 3 tables ofcourse.. lol. im not playing more today. I just don't feel like playing poker.

Bankroll: $19,56

I need a good sng hand history converter. I really played strong at that table, and wasn't getting pushed around. i was even behind 51k to 15k in the heads up and came back after winning 2 all ins. I think my MTT play still needs alot of work. i reread some strategy articles again, and have more confidence in my play.

But i think especially in the push/fold phase before the cash is where i make the most mistakes. often waiting too long or going all in too soon causing me to bust when i could cash.

i just noticed i was about in the exact same situation as yesterday's heads up but instead of trying to bluff and fold i just kept pushing all in with semi-good/ good hands. when you have around 10 BB i should stop trying to bluff because it often ends up in losing a big part of ur stack.

I have just made it through your entire blog, and I owe it to you to write some advice since you were kind
enough to leave me some encouragement in mine. Now what I say you probably will not like, but hey, honestly
it is the nicest thing I can do for you.

Firstly, there is nothing wrong with you as a person, and you are not doing everything wrong.

However, you need to learn to crawl before you walk as the expression goes.

In the early stages of your blog, you were playing an insane amount of tables flying by the seat of your pants.
The first "Good" decision I saw you make, which I see you are sticking to so far, is to narrow it down to one or two
at a time.

So far, the people I saw offering you advice except for one were trying to ecourage you and help you along
in a positive way. What they were saying to you is actually written in the very articles that you as a new player
should be reading and putting specific study time into every day.

So what I write now again is meant to support you and help you not make fun of you or say your doing EVERYTHING wrong.

When I first started with SNGs, I played 1 tables at a time for more than 2 months. I finally worked it to 2 and then
finally into 4. I also spent alot of time reading the articles and posting my hands for review and watching the videos.

Your best bet is to stick to the .25c 45 man SNGs, as you seem most comfortable with them. If you want a steady
increase in your BR then stop looking at how small it is. Start looking at how few 1st places you are taking down.

I used to play just 2 $1 45 man SNGs ALL DAY at a time, over and over nothing else while I studied between games.
I ended up finally moving to the $3.40 18 man and doing the ame thing. It took FOREVER to move up from both.
The only way I was finally able to, was to stick to the one game and study and attend coaches post hands etc etc.

So far every hand that I checked out on that replayer you post with, has been played in error.

Thats again not an attack on you as a person but I am letting you know as another witness to your progress that
you need some help and support from the tools available to you through this site.

Stick to one game type, and study a certain amount of time a day. Make sure you get the ICM trainer.
Even if you have watched all the videos and read all the articles, do it again. And then do it again.
When that is done, do it again. I still read the bronze and silver SNG articles. I have been at this for a year.

Does that make me a bad person? or stupid ort something? nope. It just
means that in order to truly absorb what is being taught we need to keep
re-evaluating the information being provided.

Practice at least 500 or so hands a day MINIMUM with the ICM trainer. And most importantly,
ask questions, piles of them. I am not the best player in the world obviously but I would be
happy to provide you with any answers I have as would anyone else AFAIK as long as
when they give you advice you don't take it like an insult and cover your ears so to speak.

So thats it from me for now, good luck, and I will read this blog.....

That's one big wall of text.. i'll try reading it lol. don't really feel like it atm but i'll try.

I read it all and the thing is..

there are only like 5 bronze sng articles. and since i won't be silver any time soon since my account isn't tracked i only have acces to some very basic articles.

when i posted hands in the "Coaching, Video and Hand Evaluation Feedback" forum i didn't receive help at all. People would say, "don't bluff, play tight" and not even make a single comment about how the hands were played or should be played so that didn't help me at all.

Plus all the trash talking they did doesn't make me want to ever post a hand there ever again.

That leaves the ICM. i did install the light trainer and it was useful but i'm not quite sure if that would improve my play to much. maybe i'm wrong here, but i don't really like it.

for example when it tells me to shove with about any two cards and then in an example very close to it i can only shove with that type of cards. or then you get A-5s and then the ICM will say nope you can only shove with A-6s+ seriously what kind of bullshit is that lol.

I haven't tried the normal version, it might be alot more useful. But i really hate shoving with average/weak hands. It might be +EV but in general my luck hasn't been too great so far so do i really want to be shoving when i know i will be beat most of the time?

And strategy is pretty basic at the level i play at atm. I've actualy 4 tabled most. i haven't really 1-2 tabled exept on the NL2 SH and some $1 SNG's. I'm currently 12 tabling because i want to get out of these limits as soon as possible.

It's just not fun to play against horrible players and then get sucked out.few days ago i was in this situation: i get called down to the river and im wondering is my second pair really any good? he called me twice now. i decide to just bet at it once more and he calls me again and i win the pot.

And then you got some players who do know some basic strategy and aren't complete idiots and then you have to put those on a hand without any reads isn't easy.

So i'm just trying to move too the $1 Sng's as fast as possible since atleast the players there are decent. from the few i've played atleast. I want ot use a 100 BI brm but that means i would have to grind up to $100 so that would take a while. but if i only use 50 BI and i lose a few then i would have to move down quite quickly.

I want to improve my game. I just don't really know what i could do atm. I'm going to give the ICM a shot tomorrow.

I think i should stop 12 tabling.. this is the third time this happened .

1 It goes well, then i bust like 6-8 tables in 30 mins.

2 on the remaining tables i finish in the money and get lucky and do good.

I really dont understand this. i have 4 tables left. i bust in one. after a while im chipleader on all the last 3 tables.

So that's pretty crazy.. because i went from shortstack to chipleader on all 3 of them. So im starting to think it's not just bad luck but i just play alot worse on so many tables.

Results:

1st : 1
2nd: 0
3rd: 2

like last time i was the underdog with 15k from 51k. like seriously wtf? I bet you guys dont even believe it anymore lol. it just seems everytime im heads up im in that exact same situation.

i double up quickly, we play a bit. he pushes alot. i wait for the right time and call his reraise all in with a pair of J's (top pair) and a 6 kicker. he went all in with a 2-6. and there was a 2 on the flop so i was in a very good position to double up and i did. then another double up with A-8 vs K-7 and i won hte heads up.

It was funny because when there were about 6 players left i was down to 2BB (2400) and somehow i managed to get to heads up. I simply didn't get sucked out.

im kind of dissaopinted about one of the 3rd place finishes. because i had 1/3 of the chips when the final table started. but when it was 3 players left, we were playing for like 30mins and the chipleader with 40k kept getting lucky. he hit his 3 outer twice once on the turn and once on the river and me losing about half my stack when he did. for example A-J vs A-2 and an A on the flop and then he would hit a 2 on the river.

It ended up with me going all in with about 5 BB with 77 and then i ran into the AA of the other shortstack.

I'm still surprised at the resulsts.

Am i just very lucky ?
or am i actualy that good when i play on a small amount of tables that i can finish in the top 3. 3/4 times when there were about 18-20 players left on all of them..

anyway. im going to just 4 table like i used to do. the 12 tabling obviously isn't working. when i hit $30 i might try 2 tabling $1 27-45 player SNG's.

Bankroll: $23,67
