Making a living with STT SNGs

Quick update

Last night was very nervous regarding PT4 and HUD. Things that tilt me are technology related bugs such as hud stopping to work and me needing to stop grind restart computer and loose time (This is why I didn't do it and kept grinding) and things like loss of wireless internet (where I loose 60$ on the tables).

I wanted to let you all know that last night I was also 5 tabling. I didn't feel huge difference in my game. I will test it today again.

Just for testing purposes, hourly wise I want to explain 5 vs 4 tabling move.
Say that right now I make post RB 25$ 4 tabling doing 32 games per hour. 25$:32 = 78 cents per game. Of course I make more then this, I am likely around 30$ per hour or more based on my expectations and estimates.
Now with 5 tabling say that I drop from 78 cents per game to 70 cents per game. Volume is now instead of 32 , 40 games per hour. 40x0.70= 28$ POST RB hourly. 3$ more per hour, in say 1500 hours of yearly grind that is 4.5k$ difference.
Keep in mind these are random calculations. I am positive that my game with 4 tabling now makes 30$+ easy and with 4 tabling I expect the hourly to be 35$+. Time will show of course!

So starting today, I will grind 8 hours per day 5 tabling and check my win rate during the next 7 days (56 hours of grind 5 tabling = 2k+ sample enough to show tendencies). If I am not loosing too much value and EV, I will continue to grind with 5 tables to maximize hourly. Swings will be greater likely due to some edge dropping but I am expecting not to make a huge difference.

As long as HUD is working, I am not worried at all.

Very quick update

Started 1st session 5 tabling, hud worked for 30ish minutes and then it dissapeared again!. I stopped loading tables and am now in cooldown. AS I got to 4 tables, HUD started working again!!!
It is very likely computer/memory/something problem if hud works for 4 tables but makes problems with 5. Also, I had problems with 4 tables so definitely something is up with my PT4 or laptop
It will very likely be very long day 5 tabling but I will push through it no matter what!

So now you have a new girlfriend? Did I miss anything?

No, its the same 1 from 2 weeks ago... She came over last night, watched me play 10 minute session and spent the night here. Also, she wants me to leave Serbia and move with her to China - that is big news. I might do it - need to investigate how Stars works in China, what is RB system, deposit and cash out options, is traffic merged, time zone differences etc. Living expenses wise I can grind Spins and live there with her which would be cool

She is Serbian but she was already in Asia for which I envy her. She was in Japan, my dream destination. She wants to move next year to China and teach English there and she wants me to go with her. Her best friend will also move so I would be living with 2 hot girls. Very +EV ♦

Whole day had trouble with HUD shutting down. Sometimes right away, sometimes during and sometimes towards the end. 5-6 sessions was constantly restarting PT4 and Stars but it only helped for a bit. Last 2 sessions of the day played hudless which is not cool. Was 5 tabling whole day and am overall very happy with focus and how everything went.
Once I resolve HUD things will get just better! This way without HUD I can practice my play vs expected tendency in both 3/3 and HU. If someone surprises me I take a note and adjust in future hands. So far it seems like its not different to 5 table vs 4.

Another exciting news is that I already made over 1k in the deal with my friend and tomorrow I will cash out from Stars that amount. Very likely even after I reach 3k profit mark (2k more left in 6 weeks), I will continue to do deal with my friend.

Played 3rd session without hud, won 10x in it (tough opponent hu!), and half of 2nd session also without hud. Adapted my strategy for very specific spots and it seems like I have found the cure for my win rate to jump high.

5 more sessions left - enjoy your day on and off the tables.

P.S. This puts me close to 2k profit in the new deal

Quick update

Already played 5 hours or so for the day. Upswing now evening out a bit + 1 of the sessions was very hard without a HUD playing adaptable regs HU.
Now I took out postgre and installed new one, activated new db and am now importing tourneys for Spins in there. It will take some time but hopefully it will solve all the hud loading problems!

This is where my whole day went!

Still can't grind. Waiting for it to finish and hopefully after which HUD will run smoothly.
Today only 5ish hours instead of 8. Not happy about it obviously especially because I didn't have teaching today so I was planing to do 8 or more hours but instead did 5.
Lets see what happens tomorrow with new and improved PT4.

Tomorrow I will make my desktop again my grind machine. I have SSD hard drive, better processor and nothing else in it. So I will need to take those half million hands and transfer them there, connect 2 monitors, 1st for grinding and 2nd for tv shows/movies, and then just switch to avoid this kind of mess in the future.

Will post the graph for the day before bed, once PT4 finishes with DB import.

Another news - did another cash out. Yesterday was 1k, today 500$. So 1.5k/3k is completed much sooner then anticipated. I will continue to 5 table and do 8 hour grinding, it puts me in zone to think about spots that I find I need to improve range vs range and do new adjustments in.

First 3 sessions were awesome, remaining 2 disaster without HUD. As you can see red line dropped like hell in those last 2 sessions without HUD!

Tomorrow, new day, new chance to grind 8 hours and get closer to 3k goal and rebuilding long hours grind!

Very excited to let you all know that my HUD WORKS NOW!
Played 5 tabling 1 hour session in coffee place with my best friend watching. HUD worked through out the whole session without any problems.

The main problem why it didn't work before and was bugging is PostgreSQL! I had never version and PT4 update didn't support it. So I had to take out new PostgreSQL and put in older version which PT4 said would work and then upload my HH (which took over 5 hours to do yesterday).
Result today is - it works.

I will play 7 more sessions today and let you know how it all went. Started day strong, 75$ pre RB profit with with 98 cEV while 5 tabling + cleared 50$ bonus.

HUD worked only 1st session. After that it went to the old ways. So Postgresql version change didn't do the job. Again same problem why hud stops working. 2 causes : 1) Some tournament history registered wrong money prize pool or money won 2) Nothing wrong with money won on tourneys but it just stops working unexpectedly.

Going to bed a bit pissed at this technology shit. I can't believe that in 2016, we are on brick of 2017, this software shit happens with 1 of the 2 leaders in industry when it comes to poker hands tracking and HUD. They charge money and have tons of it probably and all they have to do is make it smooth and user friendly. Instead, every time there is some new update, something gets screwed up. I am sick and tired of doing db re-import, reinstalling things and starting process over and over. Their business model sucks and is unacceptable.

Tomorrow, with my brother, we will put my desktop in use. Install PT4, import my HUD in there and whole DB via SSD and I will try to grind a session or 2 on desktop. If desktop works, it will be awesome, otherwise I will continue to grind on laptop read less and accept the fact that I will drop tons of edges in HU and diminish my win rate.
The only good thing that comes out of this HUD mess is the fact that I am more and more thinking about my post flop strategy, how to upgrade it and have this insane drive to analyze all the textures to complete my range construction analysis. New year is around the corner and I can't wait to get on it even with 8 hours grind.

BTW, the results shown are not exactly correct. Today I had starting balance in my cashier, then cashed 2x50$ RB and ended day in profit like 30$ or so. So losses today should be around 75$ or so instead of 105$.

Tomorrow is a new day and chance to repeat 8 hour grind while also doing at home work out with pull ups, push ups, sit ups and squats - very look forward to it, miss working out !!!

Quick update

HUD is finally working!
I needed to do housekeeping for DB and activate RAM more instead of hard disc. Now hands are loading in real time and there is no delay even in HU!

Played 25x , was huge CL in HU and lost it in the end - messed up 1 hand badly!
Whole day have been very nervous for some reason - didn't sleep long enough and HUD worries. 3 sessions in, not happy with level of play, its C- game to B. 5 more left - lets see what happens remaining of the day now that HUD works!
Also, desktop computer is now in now set for grind. DB is uploaded, all the necessary software is set. Just need to buy new keyboard and extra mouse and I can switch my grind to desktop soon (better and faster machine) + use additional monitor for tv shows.

Just be careful. Your body and mind need enough time for regeneration. It´s like in sports. Do you know the phenomenon of over-exercising? Well, I know it very well and it can be painful! You don´t get better, you get worse!

Sometimes less is more.
