Good day to all!

Just want to share what my best friend has accomplished after 7 days of doing assignments I set him up without any prior poker knowledge. I will list things I gave him to learn and after this he is 2 tabling on his laptop (since yesterday) and already crushing 1.5$ 6 max - super proud of him!

Assignments I gave him within 7 days:
- Learn opening ranges for each of the 5 positions
- Learn defend range vs all opponents in and out of position (early and mid phase)
- Learn defend range vs passive opponents (early and mid phase)
- Learn bb defend range vs sb (early and mid phase)
- Learn 3 bet early and mid phase
- Learn call 3 bet and/or 4 bet all in early and mid phase
- Do every day minimum 100 examples with screen shots in ICM trainer (4-6,3-3,2-2)
- What hands do we call 1,2,3 streets, what hands do we bet 3 streets, reasons to bet
- Poker strategy basic articles on poker and sngs (especially odds and outs and equity)
- HU nash equilibrium chart to memorize call and shove for 10bb
- 4-6 players NASH shoving range with added edge of 0.10 in even stack setup
- Bubble adjusting to nash shoving ranges in various stack setups with edge of 0.10
- Concept when to steal chips, from which position and how to play HU

I'm so going use this! Thanks! I've had the feeling my sng game wasn't going anywhere. With this list I can reset my game and hopefully advance!

Please do, I strongly believe its a great list. With the knowledge above you can expect to beat micro stakes on any site no problem. Notice, there is nothing on calling ranges in bubble and pre bubble. I had session with my best friend yesterday and taught him how to create calling ranges for 10bb vs all positions as well as how to treat bubble and pre bubble spots (related to stack setup). Later today we have another session, I will ask him from memory to write me out all pivot shoving ranges for 10bb in bubble as CL, MID and SS as well as review pivot points for shoving 4-6 people less than 10 bb (6-8bb) from all positions. He is doing really awesome so far, I hope he will keep this drive for a long time, money will come as a prize very soon!

I had my Xmas Coaching with LTT today and if I had to describe it in one word it would be awesome!

The most important thing, LTT is great guy and a friend who I am very happy to have in my life. I have never done any session with him and last night I went to bed at 5-6am woke up at 9am for our session - basically couldn't fall asleep how excited I was to have a session with my poker idol!

LTT proved to be super patient, easy going and full of knowledge! I prepared 6 different theory and math based topics and he analyzed everything with me and made things clear. I have to admit that these topics I started working with Gerovit very recently and some things were still fresh so I wanted to check with LTT if I was on the right track. Combination of work with Gerovit and LTT filling in extra questions today was super useful for me and has given me extra edge to crush 15s with ease and move up sooner.

I really want to thank Poker Strategy for making this promotion and LTT accepting me as student for the promotion! In case others don't know, LTT doesn't coach privately anyone anymore and this was super rare and amazing occasion for me.
I hope LTT enjoyed our session, not really sure what he thinks of my current ability (maybe he will write word of two of our session who knows) but I definitely loved every minute of our session!

Thank you my friend for making a dream of mine come trough, I really hope in the future we will get to do that more and obviously get to hang live in Serbia/Vegas/Prague or some sick live event

Spent most of the day (after session with LTT) hanging with my brother, Gerovit and friend from Leskovac (I wrote about him in some previous update, he is the guy getting married etc). After 3 hours or so hanging out with amazing laughs, ate lunch with my brother and headed to office to grind. Ended up talking to fellow grinder friends on skype for like 1 hour or so and then started 15 tabling without table selection. In between 2 sessions coached my best friend for 1 hour and now finished for the day.
Didn't work on my game today on my own but session with LTT definitely can count as working on the game :)
I was playing super reg infested games today, I feel all the regs are going strong at the beginning of the year. I have to give huge shout out and respect to Elio Oneiro who within first 3 days of the new year already played over 1.1k games!!! That's right, Elio means business, he is better then most regs on 15s and I believe he is definitely 20+ tabling playing this insane volume - if you are reading this man, well done super great job!
Card distribution played a major role today, I was getting sucked out 4-6 players non stop post flop with sets vs over pair but that's poker. Bubble with my 3 bets I was running into top of the ranges, couple of 4-6 3 bet shoves also into top of the range... HU terrible card distribution and setups when shoving, had only 1% difference between 1st and 2nd place today which is great indicator for me.
Overall fell good how I played today, I will definitely review tomorrow all the ICM spots, check the post flop as well and proceed to grind 100 more games.
Results of today's sessions show totally opposite of what I was saying but doesn't matter , I know how many ICM setups I had and how many post flop suck outs happened so its all good.

Here are the results for the day
100 games 3.7 hours
EV ROI 1.1% (16.1$)
ROI 5.8% (86.88$)

P.S. So far this month I have 250 games, EV ROI of 4.9% (188.87$) vs ROI 2.2% (104.65$) , 35.2% itm , 1st 20.8% 2nd 14.4% 3rd 17.6% 4th 20% 5th 14.4% 6th 12.8%. I will post monthly graph in the end of January, just saying how I feel about my game so far - with table selection I could get way more then 5% for sure just I had life things in the way of it and I want to finish all my days before midnight or 1 am (which is why I am heading out right now from the office) Have a good night all!

Yep thats how it goes. Games tend to be tougher in January and December. Now people are full of energy and are going for some goal. After one month some of them will decrease volume. In December deadline is approaching so cannot anymore postpone volume . Resulting in more reggy games. Or that how I would imagine.

1.1k games in turbo format is indeed huge. Have had some 300+ games days myself in previous year. Now probably around 700 games so far.

It seems to be that way my friend. Past 2 days it took less than 2 minutes to fill up 15 tables without table selecting. Its like 3 regs I know from before immediately sit and then 1 new reg comes + 1 unknown (that may or may not be a fish). I agree with you, they will return to their 50-80 games a day average within a month or so and it will be heaven for multi tabling.
I am just wondering how much Elio can keep up with such pace. I really admire what he has done in past years on this limit and now he is increasing the bar even more. If he gets like 3%+ with such a sick volume (say he plays 7k games a month this way , 21 days a month of grinding, 9-10 days resting) then he will make around the same money that winning regs at 30s make (they average roi up to 3% pre rb). He found his comfort zone now he is just exploiting it - gg all in all :)

Thanks a lot man, really appreciate it. I wish you all the best and awesome things in this year, for you to super crush high stakes HU hypers!

I have good news for you! I just came from drinks with sexy boutique chick, she got a job in Belgrade and is moving there by the end of January. I will most definitely visit her in February so we can hang out at that time!

I am basically planing to visit Belgrade more frequently this year but for that I will need to buy appropriate laptop.
Perhaps you guys can suggest something that could work for poker?

Spent most of the day with boutique chick and searching for laptop on 6-7 different sites.
In the end landed on one that costs less than 300 euros but I have to be quick since there is only 1 left. The problem is the holidays, Christmas is coming up in Serbia and people don't work Sunday (tomorrow) and many tie it up until Wednesday! I hope it won't magically disappear until then!
What else, lets see... Did a sweet session with fellow reg FlitsFlop, enjoyed that a lot also I will get to watch him play next time! Went to Merkator mall shopped some stuff I needed for the house and played 50 games total!
For some reason I was super tired after those 50 games took 2.3 hours to play them cause I was 8 tabling while FlitsFlop was watching and I had a nap after that.
Tomorrow I have 2 coaching sessions planed as well as to review my plays and whole day to spend at boutique chicks place so I guess I will play 0 games tomorrow.
So to sum things up, 300 games since beginning of the year and it will stay that way until day after tomorrow - starting strong with grind in this year or what?!? :)
Anyways, 50 games without table selection very swingy and lots of setups but EV was a bit over 5%.

Graph for the day and good night good people!

50 games 2.3 hours
EV ROI 5.3% (39.96$)
ROI -0.3% (-2.49$)

Thanks for the wishes, and that's great news !

Any laptop can work for poker :f_biggrin: Give me some more info on what you need and I'll try to help ( what are your priorities, screen size, mobility, battery life etc.. ). You might want to get one with an SSD, tho they are high end models mostly, the difference is big.

I've been reading this for a couple of months now. Great blog and great insight into the work ethic needed. Thanks for sharing.

How many hours a day / days a month would 3k games take? I play 45 and 90 man games, so don't know how long it would take for 6 or 9 man. Thanks.

You said you teach your brother and your best friend, so they can crush low stakes....I also want to start crushing low stakes SNG`s, and don`t really know where to start my studying...So that`s why I ask you: What do your brother and best friends study? I mean are the materials(videos and articles) from pokerstrategy useful to crush low stakes sngs? or should I try and study from other sites too?

Basically, my question for you is: What should I study to crush low stakes?

Glad you enjoy the blog and solid 1st post from you on poker strategy

I haven't calculated with 6 tables 100 games a day 6 max but I am pretty sure it would take like 6 hours a day or something as minimum. It used to take me 6 hours 12 tabling to get 150 games so it can be helpful to calculate it.
Best friend will be expected from March to grind every day 100 a day to put to test if his knowledge from previous 2 months has sinked in and if his 6 tabling skills are working out. On top of this he will have to maintain 30-60 minutes working on the game every day also. Whichever way you turn it its like 8 hour a day in poker so that he and my brother can start living off it asap and improve like fanatics.
After they learn foundation and to 6 table well , the sooner they go to 8 and 10 tables the sooner they can have 6 hours a day in poker and live like bosses :)
