INTRO ===== 10.03.09 - In the small unknownish country of Estonia, another random fish wakes up in the morning and totally out of the blue, feels the need to learn poker even though he didn't give a shit about it ever before when all his schoolmates used to play it during lunch breaks. So not even getting out of his bed, he instagrabs his laptop and logs on to a site he used to sportsbet on from time to time and found its primitive poker school page. He quickly learned what a full house and four of a kind was, and besides that, he knew only one thing - that he wanted to get them ASAP ! :f_cool: He had learnt poker in 10 minutes and it was time for step 2 ==> get out of bed, get dressed and call a friend that has been playing for years. "Yoo mate, funniest thing happened today, I just felt a sudden urge and interest towards poker this morning, having felt no interest towards card games prior whatsoever ... anyway, when's your next homegame?" Step 2 complete. Step 3 = pwn fish :f_cool: He came (to the homegame not in my palm or on tittaehs, so all of you ihufas and NightFrostas etc don't get confused :f_biggrin: ), he saw and he mofockin conquered. No fear + no knowledge + pure psychological mindfuck + fish luck = +7bi :f_cool: He was hooked. Poker had a new disciple. INTERLUDE ======== He created his first pokahh account @Microgaming. Even though he really thought he completely pwned the home cg, he still acknowledged the fact that in the "real world" he was still a fish that needed to learn and evolve a lot - there are no "free lunches" in this world and big $$$ can't possibly come with a 10 minute learning curve, otherwise everybody would be doing it. So his goal was simple = make money with poker without depositing a single cent of his own $$, since beginners are bound to lose some or even a lot of moniez in the process of learning, he I decided to start with freerolls and neeever eever use his own moniez. He started off pretty well in the freerolling world, nurturing his painfully small BR cent by cent. 22.05.09 - Google + "Poker strategy" = PokerStrategy.com Woah = strategy + free moniez = AMAZING :f_biggrin: :f_love: :f_thumbsup: Free $50 = obv NL50 good to go = bustooo = BRM lesson learned. Thank you for the free $50 lesson PS.com - now off to the strategy articles :f_biggrin: Back to his tiny Microgaming roll which he had managed properly all along since it took him a loot of work to get it and you appreciate things a lot more when you work hard to get 'em. Okay, enough of the fairytale - this is starting to become a tl;dr so I'll keep rest of the boring stuff short. After freerolls and cashing out from Microgaming, deposited about $20 to Everest, grinded it up to $70 with Fixed Limit ... Then tried NL SSS to unlock my bonuses since FL wasn't unlocking much even though game wise I was doing good at it. SSS was a disaster ... lost a big chunk of my roll, but survived thanks to the bonus that I did manage to unlock. Cash out again and deposit on FT and started trying SnGs. This is when I exploded my roll. December 2009 - $100 roll February 2010 - $900 roll SnG's are getting too boring and same old same old stuff ... Time to make the switch to NL BSS and stay there for good hopefully. And I do - my roll swings between $300-900 constantly and I swing between NL10 and NL25 as a result of = leaks + runbad + cashing out 08.10.10 - TeamTwiceT kicks off, I try to suck in every bit of knowledge I can from all the great players that I'm surrounded by and I plug many leaks. Started with a $550 roll. December 2010 - $1,2k roll even after a decent amount of runbad, so things are still obv better than ever before and I finally feel that I'm moving in the right direction. The thing that I didn't mention about myself before was that I'm ... Well like Phil Galfond said about himself, a lazy underachieving person in the sense that - when I don't like/enjoy what I do, then I do really poorly and am totally miserable, can't do it ... BUT, when I do smth I feel really passionate about and interested, I dive in as deep as I can and conquer the shit out of it, no stopping, no quitting. Not exactly in Galfond's words but smth like that :f_biggrin: So I was miserable so far, coz I had no intentions of doing anything other than the things that I love in my life, BUT I did go to uni to study finance as a backup until I find my calling. I found it and then I "deleted" everything else ... yes, you might be thinking "pretty stupid to assume that you're going to be a pokahhsupahstaar like every other poker player thinks he's gonna be and drop out of school and abandon all else". Yeah, but guess what, I don't care ... cause backup or no backup, I would still be a miserable depressed fuck all the same, whether I was broke and living in a cardboard box or living in a decent place and ...

I've felt the huge benefits of this in the past ... and I've pondered why I fail at it so often ...

After some deliberation I came to some "Aha!" moments ...

The problem was previously that when I want to look for some hands I played ... I will see the results and I can't mark down hands during the session and have HEM show only those afterwards coz my PC is just too slow and laggy to handle HM2 for such heavy duty processes like handmarking

And when I remove the "bb" column ... it becomes pretty damn hard to find the hands I'm looking for ...

Solution?Still hide the "bb" column AND apply a "hero won/lost 10bb+" filter ...Cuts away all the whatever random BS hands and leaves a nice manageable pile of hands that are easy to browse and look through without seeing the end result ...

Pretty awesome - even though I know it's been yet another shit day where nothing works out, I can still feel good coz the vague knowing is much "softer" on the brain than seeing the actual cold hard truth via ugly green line and $$$ lost ...

I still feel like an addict - itching and dying for a quick look, but I've resisted so far

It just felt utterly crappy coz I got 2-4 outered so often, had to c/f all sets coz of flushes etc yadayada + W$SD was ridic low

EDIT: Note to self for further HEM improvements - remove W$SD stat to know even less about possible/likely results.
