You are so mean to me, although I do richly deserve it.
We're leaving this afternoon, and I won't be playing any more poker, so here's my results for March. Pathetic volume obviously, but at least I didn't get crushed by variance this month.
And the 180 man MTTs went pretty well too.
It's been snowing a lot, so I'm not entirely sure that the trusty Ford Galaxy is going to be up to getting us to the ferry in Oban by tomorrow afternoon, but I will report back when I return.
Next month, I'm expecting to have to work hard to produce a final version of the book, and I'm also going to be away in Bristol at a conference (opportunity to try the casinos there) for one week, and I have a meeting in Prague (excuse to buy dinner for Boris) towards the end of the month, so I'm not expecting to be able to really play properly until May.
I was listening to this week's 2+2 poker podcast, and there was an interview with a bloke who broke his neck diving into a swimming pool and ended up mainly paralysed, and now plays live poker for a living, very sucessfully. It's pretty inspirational stuff. If you enjoy a good whinge as much as I do, you'll probably feel that you're not really too badly off compared to him, and I would recommend listening to it.
Oftentimes, I talk to JB and get inspired by his wisdom. Sometimes though, I don't listen to what he actually says. Seems like I missed the part where he mentions when he will be back from his trip. Does anybody know when exactly he will be back?

That's probably my last session for a while, as we're off to the Isle of Mull on Friday for a week barricaded in a cottage trying to stave off the cold with my entire lovely family. Should be interesting.
There are some cracking deep stacked, weekend events going on at present.
We'll be in Cornwall 20th-27th July. I don't think I can slip away unnoticed for a whole weekend while I'm there. There'd be nobody left to shout at the kids at an appropriate volume. An evening out is however entirely possible.
Thanks for all the happy birthdays.
Lol @ TT not reading my blog carefully. As if he's got anything better to do. ^^
Just back from Mull. It's a great place. An island with big mountains and lochs. Not many stories to tell tbh, which is a good thing imo. I will just give you some pictures.
We were staying at the house on the left, which overlooked the bay. The owners had done out one of the top rooms as an observatory with a telescope and binoculars, and also an underwater webcam to watch the prawns and crabs. The kids loved it.
Watching the seals at Carsaig. You can see mrsjb and the beasts in this one if you look carefully.
The view from the ferry on the way back.
And yes, I know I've rather overdone the panoramic view thing, but I like them, and it's my blog, so I can do what I like.
Here's Tobermory, the main town on Mull.
If you have small children, or indeed are a small child (in which case you should really be reading something else), you may recognise it.
I can confirm that the pink castle isn't really there, much to my daughter's disappointment.
I also managed to go through the book and make lots of changes, sadly only in pen, so I did manage something constructive while I was away. Easter Monday tomorrow, back to work on Tuesday, and it's colder here than it was in Scotland.
