Every leader says "I want peace!" and that the army is just in case but if they all want peace why is there a 'case'? I still haven't figured that out.. oh, yeah.. in case of aliens they deny the existance of. Cool! Politics = BS, for me at least..

It seems that every time I look away from my blog for five minutes, I come back to find a random conversation in it, although I suppose it's my fault for mentioning the army. We need an army for game theoretical reasons. LDO
Anyway, more chess tonight. I didn't really want to play two nights in a row, but I got begged. Didn't quite work out though.
In this position I managed to crack off Qxf4. I made the move, took my hand off the queen, and resigned before I pressed the clock. FML. Any way, even if I'd managed to notice I needed to swap the queens off, I seemed to be losing most of the endings that we looked at because of his pesky h pawn, so it probably didn't make much difference. My opponent was a really nice Nigerian chap, and from talking afterwards, clearly a strong player, who's doing a Masters in Financial Maths (not at my University though). I gave him a lift home and told him that my University's better than his University and that he should do a PhD there.
On to poker. I thought I'd post this hand as it's just such a perfect set up. There is no escape. This hand is neither + or - EV, as all the money ends up in the middle whichever side of it you are on. Look how I managed to trap him into putting it all in, ha ha ha!

He didn't mention anything to do with a ton of money he's got locked up in investments that he needs a few bucks to release, by any chance? If so, I sent some money to him six months ago and now he's not returning any of my emails.

Id probably call AJ on the flop, fold on turn based on that minraise flop followed by big bet on turn by fish = normally nuts.
The JJ hand is tougher. I do however think that even a fish is capable of raising flushdraws, pairs + fd's, 9x hands and so on.
I think I'd stack off the JJ hand and fold the AJ hand on turn.

Why call the minraise on the flop if you're folding turn? You cant expect him to check it down thinking "ok i got another $,35 from him, thats enough". The thing with doing this is that if a jack/ace comes you're gonna lose your stack if he has AQ or better. Just fold right away imo

What you say makes sense Afilcor1. However, there is in my oppinion a difference between a minraise followed by a check, and a minraise followed by a big bet.
I don't thikn getting to a cheap showdown is impossible, some fish take this line and then c turn and river with weak aces. I'm nothing but a station and a herocaller, forgive me
But yea, best idea could probably be to fold and take a note already on flop.
In the JJ hand I would expect to see a set very often, 88 or 99, and give stack sizes, would be loathe to get it all in there.
The AJ hand is different, if you were IP and he check/minraised, that would be the nutz. When he minraises your cbet, that is much fishier I think. I could see him doing that with his weaker Aces, so would be inclined to go to showdown.
