hey TT, nice graph as always, just curious how many hands of other games u played this month? and did u profit at ur other game types? (don't have to mention numbers just interested in ur overall month) u seemed to be even more focused this month than usual

also, do u ever feel like just sitting some of the bigger 25/50 plo games? i dont know so much about plo but sometimes these 25/50 games look quite good?
do u think theres a big difference between u @ a 25/50sh reg? (in terms of skill)

Hero wins $10.26
Opp was 23/19 3.0 agr. 200 hand sample
On turn its scare card and he bets it a lot tho sometimes he have it and by his sizing i tought he had it. I still could go to showdown with this to beat some random Qx since he is BNT and have wide range. Fd would make sense too. If he calls should i bomb the river? since i think he have to lay down Ax and 44/88 would ship turn??

Yes, Come here by february~april. I'm living by myself now so I have a free room and you are always welcome (you too vonki). Of course you shouldn't be staying too much time in Sao Paulo when there is tons of better places here in Brazil, but I would be happy to follow you whenever you wanna go.

I can still get in amirite?

I have an aggro image, but sb has high fold to 3b. I decide to not 3bet pre to keep in everythign I dominate. On the flop, I think I can rep this board pretty well bvb and don't feel like calling down multiple barrells on this kind of board texture.

On turn I decide to check back incase he has a big hand and will c/r. If he checks river too I'm pretty certain he will have a <2 pair or less hand and I can do something funky like overbet or bet small looking like I'm going for thin value etc.

When the river pairs and he bets smallish, I decide that he never had 2 pair OTF as he would probably 3b/call, so if I raise without shoving its going to look really strong and he will probably fold straights/flushes, as my line looks really strong.

But maybe again its spew.

Thoughts?

around 40k hands plo sh. 5k hands nlhe hu. 10k hands nlhe sh. 500 hu sng.

winning overall for the month. but i dont look at graphs all that often. due to the sick swings it doesnt rly benefit. i sometimes look on cool graphs like the plo600 i posted, just for confidence boost :f_biggrin:

im always very focused when im working/studying/grinding. i just didnt want to have a "focused" blog. my blof was a nice place to just ramble a bit, trash talk and post poker stuff once in a while ;)

yes, many of my friends play 25/50+ and i know the games pretty well. i also played 25/50 a lot in may. however, 1) i dont have such a huge br like they do 2) i ran cold like antarctica on 5k which sucks ofc. i would have preferred to run cold on 600
overall, there is a difference from 1k and 2k to 5k. some of the worlds best plrs play there. even pros like galfond who would play higher usually, but if they dont find higher games, they move down till 25/50. also aggression level becomes way bigger and u need to get used to a new kind of swings so biiig br is important

atm im not looking on taking serious attempts on 5k. im focusing on grinding midstakes + especially focusing on rl projects (business and non business)

overall, i dont like turning top top of our range into a bluff. it essentially means u dont have a calling range and u dont let him bluff barrel.

postflop, i dont mind calling down. good spot, he can easily fire 3 streets as bluff. if he calls turn, yeah i would fire river to get him to fold Ax. but i think its just not necessary to turn such a strong hand into a bluff + on such a limit, i rly dont know if ppl fold top pair to u even tho your line looks very credible ofc

preflop, if he is a strong solid plr for those limits, i would not call. i 3b or fold in this spot. only in sb, but i dont have a big calling range in the sb. bb can squeeze or call. sucks soo much. if he is loose otb, i 3b. if he is tight, i just fold in the worst position @ table. u dont "have to" call KQ or AT just cause its a solid hand. pos > all

pre: him having high f3b is not so important. cuz he has high f3b on avg vs all his opponents. if u rly have a solid monkey aggro image, high 3b stat etc. i go ahead and 3b, expecting even nits to freak out if u do it often enough. im happy about my hand with my image pre.

post: as played. my thought process usually is: i call a cbet, cuz a)i have the best hand and b) he will bluff my turn cards. epic winning situation.
my plan on any turn he bets (and whcih doesnt improve me) is to raise and rep flopped monster. cuz when he 2nd barrels, he most likely has a pair.

anyway, u raise flop which is certainly fine, def +ev and i probably do it occassionally as well. maybe 20%. he calls but since u raised so small, he can call anything. i personally in my game plan dont raise so small in bb vs sb. i think ppl are paranoid anyway, u just give him the chance of re-bluffing cheaply or calling. i raise bit more than 3x.

turn check-check, so in his eyes u never have a straight. and a set/2pair is perceived to raise bigger on a limit like 400?! does he know u well? does he know your raise size is standard/balanced?

in his spot, i bet/call TT probably. maybe bet small and call a raise.

u cannot have a flush, u cannot have a straight cuz u didnt bet turn. u only rep 66 and 77 to him, not many combos. maaaybe 88 if u dont 3b that pre with dynamic (which u dont cuz u also dont with AQ)

i dont see why he ever could consider folding a straight or a flush here, can u explain your thought process? u give him a good price and your line from his spot looks like a cheap "hey i am aggro ip, i wanna take this pot down" move ....

this summer i had to pimp my laptop, so i deleted all my hem databases (thazar knows how pro i am!!!!)

hence, i dont have many hands/graphs here. but i will show u one

before the graph that i posted, i played plo hu only in april (or lets say almost only plo hu). i made around 35k. may 1 and 2 i lost 20k plo hu. may 4 and 5 i made around 25k. so i thought lol, sick swings. wayne money. and my friends played a lot of 25/50 that time. so i thought, "ok, only 1k-5k from now on". i has the skills and the br. eeez game". they even offered to stake me or buy action. but i was like "ah now, i has skills + br, no need to. i feel more comfortable till 5k playing my own money. for 10k and 5k€ live i always took their stakings)

ok, so i played some standard session first days in may 400-1k and felt rly good about mygame. i def was on top and was prepared for solid 2k and 5k swings. before i just occasionally played 2k and 5k. bumhunting deluxe.

so i decided to play 1k+ plo sh only if i played plo. during the day i played hu nl, evenings i played plo sh 1k-5k, very good table selection (ofc im not a gambler)

i did that for 3 evenings, so basically 3 evening session. played xtremely well, focused. everything was fine. also table selected rly well. but i ran like antarctica and lost nut flushes turn AI vs sets all the time.

so after only 3k hands i was down quite a bit. dunno the exact $$$ amount, i only looked bb mostly and also made this screen shot in bb. was ugly to see the $$$ amount but it was my biggest "downswing" first time i ever used this term in my blog btw. i dont like it. i think its misused and overused a lot.

but yeah, i grinded it all back like a pro. no prob. but since then, my confidence on 5k is not soo big. next 5k shot i will either play staked or after i made some millions with one of my business. cuz if i have some millions to play some fun games plo 5k sh, i dont mind spewing around a bit

and again. there is no spew hand. all hands were played on table/seat selected games. i like my money waaay to much to play -ev or sit at -ev tables. just a rly bad run. so as u can see, even if u have a skill edge u can easily drop 20 stacks quite fast in plo. ofc its not xtremely rare to see that. i played many hands, i had those swings on all limits once in a while (its not standard by all means tho)
however, ofc it hurts a bit more on a limit u usually dont play

most hands were 1k and 5k if i remember correctly. i dont rly remmebr the exact $$ amount, was around -60k. and felt like 100k below ev. i actually was "only" 1000bb below ev. the other 1000 were just sickest setups where i value shoved top fh into quads on the river etc

€ im actually not rly much down lifetime in plo5k though. i ran pretty good end of 2010 on plo2k and 5k. just these sessions in may were a bit brutal

maybe i just skip 25/50 and jump directly to 200/400 if i win the lottery anytime soon

ah i knew i have the hu plo april graph. i think i already posted it here some time ago. anyway. this is the graph. i think i also played some nlhe hu in april. overall was 35k

but keep in mind. within the next 500 hands or so i dropped 10k vs the biggest fish i ever played plo hu in my life. i can still remember the session. was on 600. i usually quit after 2 stacks, but vs him i coudlnt, my edge was just too big. he just won all his gs

and this is my current sept graph. didnt play many hands. rl stuff more important atm. will play a lot tho mid - end of sept. :f_cool:
10k hands is obv no sample size at all. the game can look very easy for 10k hands. all vbets work, all bluffs work out. ppl fold in 3b pots vs your cbets etc. next 10k hands u can look like a fool and just lose
but within 50k hands, i usually see my winning tendencies. i still think 100k hands is a rly decent sample and if u are a pro, u can/should def put in 50-75k hands a month. so u make sure u will be winning some $$$ at the end of every month.

€: lol @ rake(back) rls sad i cannot sell pokerstrategy points in the shop :f_biggrin:

ok, so many graphs. so much poker talk lately. this unfort has to come to an end tomorrow :f_p:

doesnt rly matter. 4k means 40 stacks. if u play 20 days a month, thats 2 stacks on average per playing day. just play 4-5 hours a playing day.

yeah sh bb/100 is bigger. but fr u get in more hands/hour probably cuz u can masstable. both is profitable. on higher stakes there is just no fr running, so i would focus more on sh.

gl sir!

you mean that FR, we can play more hands/hour.
However, if we play rush, we can only play 4tables(maximum).
So, it is better to play SH or FR since we can only play 4 tables(maximum)?

thanks.

All good things must come to an end.

This was so great of you to do this. Sharing some   like TLN!

This isn't really a strategy question but I'd like to know...

Throughout your poker experience, what would be the one thing you would change if you went back in time and started over again? Or at least what would be the one thing that you think would've sped up your success in poker?
