my first hands on every limit have also been rly atrocious.
except nl2k where i am on a lifetime heater over small sample ... thats why i dont play 2k anymore :f_biggrin:

anyway. dont forget its just money, or just random numbers in your account balance. dont take it too serious. working on your game/mindset will make u money longterm!

So no more nl50 for me now, my bankroll it's crippled once again. Damn i suck soooo bad. TT from now on please don't let me take shots without proper BR

...hmmm
That hand, are you sure its best play with your BR?
Its very high variace play imo.
If he calls flop, what he have usually.
Overpair, or some sc with 7, or 56s or 44 or overcards.
7 he dont fold, 44 is very likly, he dont fold, only hand what he fold is 56s for sure + overcards.
So you are trying to force here folding overpair, what is most likly imo after turn call, to try get fold by overpair is very high risk play, because ppl just dont fold overpairs.
And i have seen extremly often lately thatkind of play with AA/KK, utg limp in to get some action, because no-one dont give action utg open.

Ok this time he had overcards and really bad call from him, put i think this play isnt +ev.
PF raise is ok when you know that he limp in utg only for setmining, and fold really often to cbet. If not, i never iso utg with low 2gapper.
And turn second barrel is also bad i quess, you have gutshot only, board is paired + 6h may bring lot of problems for you, you just dont have enought pot eq + fold eq to do move like this.
In river shove, you think he fold about ~60% of times?
Just notice, that ppl DONT fold overpairs so often like we think.
For sure its not huge ev play, maybe BE, but it makes really big variance, with your br.......

Yeah generally, beople dont fold so often like we think that they should.
Sorry for long post :) and i will wait some better player advice, im just NL25 grinder.

edit:
We dont care that this time he had AQo and he made really bad call long run, we care his range, and given PF/Flop/Turn action he dont fold 60+% of his range.

- u could and probably should post some more hands

- at posted hand: turn is rly rly bad to bluff vs unexperienced plrs. vs reg u could bluff bet cuz he knows its the worst bluffing card. but vs not sooo thinking plr, give up turn alw. as played on that river u dont have any fe vs any pair. doesnt matter if 7x, 88 or 55. no pair is foldling here.
flop was dry w/o any draws except 56, u dont need to bluff vs 56 cuz your 8 high wins.
another part of his range is ocs on flop, probably some broadway combo. maybe with hearts that can easily call turn. so that combo of hands and also AKo, AQo u should alw get to fold on this river.

however, overall i think his range is a bit tooo pair heavy and not enough braodway combos in cuz on this turn, even a fish usually folds ATo, KJo etc etc.

his call vs our range is ofc atrociously bad. however, i dont think your bluff will show a profit longterm. this is not a good boardtexture in general and esp not vs a plr who l/c utg aka fish

- overall i think its good to take shot at micros and low limits. it didnt work out this time, but thats not the end of the world. back to nl25, get your system going, multitable a bit and get volume in. prepare a bit better for next shot on 50 and then start printing moniez

- btw: sample size is super small. i can also show u straight down graphs from my play <20k hands. thats why i make sure that i get in enough volume every month. longterm swings equal out and pure skill and winnings will be apparent. so no need to worry too much. but ofc, we alw want to worry a bit about our play and make sure we improve and progress day by day.

- one of the most important skills we need to develop as poker plrs/pros, is learning to lose. its a skill to know how to lose and how to cope with it. most ppl have the skill to win (some get super over confident, but most can deal with winning). however, what makes the difference in making a ton of money longterm is being able to lose. when u are rdy to lose, u will be able to win big (i think i underlinded that in my 1k post, maybe u wanna (re)read it) make sure u rly take out as much as possible from that experience. understand how your mind gets affected, think about what to do to be able to continue plaiyng your best even after moving down and even after losing a big part of your br. and ofc, learn from poorly played hands and play them better next time.

- enjoy your weekend as best as u can after that cold run, dont forget not to take it too serious. its just poker, just money and not more. health, friends, freedom, fun, party, sex drugs n rock n roll, peace and harmony >>> some digital numbers on your poker account.

- cu on monday sir. i wont schedule other coachings afterwards, so i will have some time.

to send u some positive energy: thats how we're gonna celebrate when next nl50 shot works out :f_biggrin:

this time i have to defend emi. he played A LOT today and learned probably even more. we also had some discussions going in skype, thats why he didnt update so far. but at least i am updated :f_p:

he had to get some sleep for uni, so updates to come soon.

btw: next week im gonna record a 2 tables 25, 2 tables 50 session. let's try to figure out differences on these limits. following vid will be a review of a session played by emi, probably 2 tables each as well.

<3 I look forward to it, hopefully it is silver and not gold so I can watch it xD

Play more

xD playing loads atm actually but unfortunately not tracked to p/s :( :(

@Emi, graph looks nasty but like everyone has said, downswings suck, maybe you spewed, maybe new limit intimidated you, all I can say is atleast next time you are prepared and can crush! I mean, it's like everything in life, you master one thing and then take a shot @ higher, doesn't always work out, think about idk, some extremem sports, freestyle motocross for example? Boom yes I nailed the tailwhip 50ft in the air, now lets try backflip!!! Oh fuck I landed on my head... shit happens, but sure as hell that guy nailed it in the end!

I wish you all the luck man! Next time you will prolly crush 50. Maybe next time when you are taking shots you could sweat with someone @ 50, just so that they can help you identify the differences between 25 & 50 or smthin!

GL @ the tables man. I too am attempting/trying to grind through the micros and into the low limits, wana get sick BR so I can show off some of my dancemoves at some of these sickkk partieesss xDDD!

Nice goals man:D :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

Nut yeah emi, next time you can do it, it just same variance shit, im sure you can beat this limit ;)
I know how bad it is when you run cold and so on, its just so sick some times. But next time is run in your side and you can do it ;)

Ok, weekend it's gone and i relaxed a bit.

I have some interesting hands for you to post, but to my surprise when i reviewed i had quite some hands which i played bad and not as i usualy play them (tried funky moves like double floating, felt like everybody was trying to throw me from pots and i was fighting for pots way more then i usualy do, etc which obv didn't work out). I think this is a pretty big mistake when shoting at a limit. I think it's important to play abc a bit in the beginning, try to "feel" the limit and then start adapting. When i look at some hands i just LOL. I'm ashamed to post them, but i have to.

I have first 2 hands against same opponent: 45/27/7.3 total aggro/8 flop aggro/40% went to showdown over 200 hands
He also has 100% cbet, 0 fold cbet to raise

1. I really don't know what to think about this hand. Given his stats i should be in pretty good shape, but he insta shoved on me. I really tanked and figured that if he had something >> JJ he wouldn't just shove like that aka i saw his shove as a spew.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager

SB ($50)
BB ($57.37)
UTG ($151)
UTG+1 ($81.94)

Dealt to Hero J♠ J♣

UTG raises to $2, fold, Hero calls $2, fold, fold, fold

FLOP ($4.75) 8♦ 6♦ 8♠

UTG bets $3, Hero raises to $8, UTG raises to $149 (AI), Hero calls $50.97 (AI)

(Pre 54%, Flop 51.3%, Turn 4.5%)

UTG shows K♦ A♦
(Pre 46%, Flop 48.7%, Turn 95.5%)

UTG wins $119

2. This is the 2nd hand against him. I find this one pretty standard, but is it? I mean he has aggro stats, but will he 3 barrel Tx enough times to make this call down profitable? btw: river agrro: 4

3.Villain is 17/11 over 450 hands but as you can see after the hand he plays UTG vs a 3bet we can't judge by stats his range i guess. I also had a note on him: check/call, donk T & R on TTA7J board with AJ (got called down by QT). To be short i think i played this hand bad, i don't know what i was thinking.

So bankroll it's now 300$. Very shalow, i know. I decided i will use the 25-5 rule. So now i will grind nl10 until 625 and then use 5 nl25 BI (125$) to "take shots" at nl25. If that works i grind nl25 until 1250$ and use 250$ for shot at nl50 (not like i did now: with 16BI i took shot and lost 9 stacks) and etc. I will really stick to this rule from now on, i can't risk again. I have coaching @ 2PM and will talk some more stuff with TT then.

Oh and i started driving school. Today it's my first lesson, but not of driving. First 2 weeks legislation and theory. This will be the car i will learn on :) Peugeot 107 on petrol. Pretty small, but it should do the trick :P

And one last advice: maybe you should stay inside when i start driving lessons

Hey emi,

sad to hear about ur br :( TBH I think you leveled yourself too much. From my experience, nl50 isn't all that
different compared to the lower limits we played. It just seems that there are some more weak regs (for example I
checked a guy that gave me hell yesterday and he's played 500k hands on nl50 and nl100 with average winrate of
1bb/100 AFTER rakeback) that are to be exploited

The only thing I prefer to do on this limit is 1) to table select better, meaning a fish in direct position or 2 fishiz on the table. The other thing is that I always try to get an immage going against the regs. Ppl here 3bet a whole lot, but you shouldn't play back at them right away. I mean what are you risking? 3bb? just folding oop is way better than doing some crazy plays. One 4bet for bluff or value and you get even for 3 of his 3bets :]

I'm at work now so can't really comment on all the hands, but if you wanna talk you can find me in skype ^^

BTW I just started the same course 2 weeks theory -> practice driving -> vic on wheels :f_cool:

gl regrinding, I'm sure there is no way you can fail with TT on ur side ;)

I think you've been trying to push things too fast. BR of 300$ and you've recently been playing nl50... that combination just sounds (and is) superfishy imo. Your game takes time to develop just as anyone's. Take your time and focus. If you've played nl50, it does feel like pennies to go back to play nl10 yet you need to focus even more than you did on nl50. It sucks, I've moved down limits enough much to know. Just take your time and work your way up.

@ QQ hand: vs c/mr flop and bet turn is usually pretty nutted. if he c/r bigger flop or donk i alw stack off. here, i might fold turn sometimes when i feel there are some nutty vibrations in the air. but def close spot vs aggro fish

@ AK hand: dont like 3b oop vs utg too much. i flat here almost always without crazy dynamic. esp vs 17/11. cbet is ok, def +ev, but doesnt accomplish too much imo. he is just folding TT, AJs, 87s etc. + KQ, QQ, AQ, KK has u fucked. i usually c/c flop and then put my soulreading glasses on on the turn and analyze his timing and betsizing. i think if he bets turnn again, he has u beat too often, so c/f again would be in order.

as played, turn is easy c/f imo. if u think a bit about his range and your perceived range, its an easy c/f.

i think i would play the other hands the same way.

dont forget, its also often the very small pots that make a crucial inpact on our wr.
